Arrivederci Wine & Jazz Ratings and Reviews
We ordered the charcuterie plate as an appetizer and there was mold on the cheese (no, it wasn't supposed to...) and the meat looked off. We sat at the table for 3-4 minutes hoping someone would walk by, but we were seated in the back of a hallway, which is very nice for being able to talk, but not nice if you need something from a server. I ended up taking the entire plate of meats and cheeses up to the front where two servers were standing and I showed them the mold and grey/blue salami. She apologized and took the plate, and we ordered the mushroom bruschetta instead. When the bruschetta was brought out the server apologized and said she had seen the meat and cheese. She let us know that our bruschetta appetizer would be free. After that, all of the food exceeded our expectations. The house red wine and the "happy ending" cocktail were also things we would order again. My husband and I truly enjoyed the food and the servers were nice, though we didn't see them often because of where we were seated. We added this to our list of places we would absolutely go back to.
I have been to this restaurant three times now. The musicianship is excellent great ambience. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to take a date to impress. Especially if they like jazz music or the touch of Blues. Each band has been excellent. The owner even gets up and plays saxophone from time to time. This is a must try experience
Always has amazing music. The owners seem to have a knack for picking wonderful jazz singers and groups to preform. The food is delicious. Many different types of Italian cuisine. Excellent wine selection and good advice on what to choose. The service is prompt. My water glass never got empty. I love this place!
Three couples who eat out often, gathering to talk about recent European river cruises. Heard about Arrivederci and tried it. What a nice atmosphere! Quiet enough to hear each other, particularly before the jazz band started playing at 8:00. Excellent fondue appetizer, very good Cobb salad.
We have been here before but not for some time. The service was excellent and the food and wine were great. They even cater to gluten free pasta. We had such a nice time. The music started before we left so we even got to enjoy some of that which was also very entertaining.
Great spot for listening to music. We enjoyed our meals and the great prices on wine. Our server was awesome! We felt well taken care of in such a busy place. Had no idea how huge this place was till I took a walk around. Lots of cozy nooks for a quiet evening if music wasn't your thing.
The one thing to greatly improve ratings is better service. Waiting 15-20+ minutes for staff to bring an ordered drink is too long. At one point we had to go find staff to get another drink. We had at least three different servers which caused additional confusion and lack of appropriate service.
While the quaintness of Arrivederci is sweet, the music initially was a bit loud for the size of the facility. The musicians did back the volume down a little and then it was wonderful. Please keep in mind the volume for the space.
The ambiance is excellent, the food was very good, and the drinks were great when we could get them.
Always a friendly welcome here. I generally come for the live music, including the fun piano bar a couple times a month. There's a happy hour with a variety of snacks and drinks. The dinner menu is heavy on pastas and pizzas, with some very good dinner salads. Portions are generous. Very accommodating management and servers.
We had about 15-20 people join for dinner and the food was very good. Everyone had a great time with plans to return on their own throughout the year. The only downside was getting attention from the waitress so we could pay our bill. Their staff needs to be trained more in awareness when people are awaiting to leave. Overall, the evening was enjoyable.
The food was excellent. The bar tender was great and he took up the slack for the waitress even though it was not busy. The waitress was indifferent and made us feel as though we were an inconvenience. Makes you not feel like going back even though the rest was good.
Great menu options with consistently good quality. We were luck enough to get last minute reservations thru Open Table and got seated close to the music. It was fun interacting with the musicians. Guess it would have been nice to know the cover charge would be added to our meal, but we stayed for 2 sets so we expected it. In the past we had never been charged a cover charge. Nevertheless, we will be back!
We visited on a recommendation...weren't even aware of the restaurant after decades of living in the area. Loved it at first glance, viewing the interior peeking through the windows during closed hours looking for a birthday destination. Made immediate reservations for that weekday evening. Upon arrival we said to each other, if the drinks, Italian food, & live jazz match the great décor/ambience, this is gonna be winner for return visits. It was a winner in all respects and we'll be back often.
Great stop for a Tuesday night of live music! Saw the Justin Pitileski Trio and they were the reason we went. It was our first time at this venue, butnwould certainly go again if we liked the music. This is not in our area but was a worthwhile stop for sure.
Arriverderci's has become one of the Portland area's best jazz clubs - some of the biggest and best names in Portland Jazz frequent this place, even on their nights-off! You can usually count on them to sit in on a set even if they're not on the schedule. The dishwasher also brings out his sax on the second set most nights. ;-) The owners make this place special by serving up great jazz, great food, and frequent visits with the guests throughout the evening. No better place to have a fun evening with your date or a small group of friends. It's about the music, so expect the band to douse your conversation when they're playing. We usually go a little before the band takes the stage to get our dinner ordered and talk. Once the musicians fire up, you'll be groovin' to their vibe anyway 'cause it's top-notch!
