Wow. Went on a Saturday night. Service and food quality has seriously deteriorated.
Service was excellent, enjoyed the ambience, nice presentation, but people go to restaurants primarily for the food. Considering it is an Italian restaurant, the chef needs a cookbook.
Great food and location (that offers dining right on the river), but very disappointed by the service. We were a party of 4, and 2 of us received our meals 10 minutes before the others. To make matters worse, we watched meals get delivered to 3 neighboring tables as we waited. This is unacceptable at a high end restaurant.
Great location on the water and terrific menu. Service, while well-meaning, is a bit slow--seems they could use a couple more waiters. Food was superb!
My dinner was so poorly p
Nice view, easy parking in adjacent lot, waiter was attentive and food was excellent. We would come back.
Went here for my anniversary and had a great dinner. The waiter Paolo was amazing. The food wa delicious! I highly recommend the outdoor seating. The view of water was fantastic. This place is a true gem! Bravo!
Great views waterfront and nice ambience. The food was nothing special ....
I am in town working and so have been reading up on various restaurants and trying them out. I read very good reviews of Arezzo and the menu looked tasty to me. It is on the water and sitting outside on a lovely early evening was just beautiful. The service was mostly really good (my main waiter was not particularly friendly or helpful but everyone else was great). I would say the food is good but, for the price, the quality and caliber is not high enough. The ideas are good but not perfectly executed for the cost. Ingredients could be better, fresher. I ordered a watermelon salad to begin with. It was a special appetizer. Marvelous idea with cucumber, pistachios and dry ricotta. However, the watermelon was mealy, the temperature of the salad was warmish (not pleasant - it should have been cold and refreshing)) there was no dressing or whatever there was had no impact, etc. I will make it at home because the ingredients were a good combo (I usually use tomatoes not cucumbers but that is a nice addition) but mine will be better because I will use ripe and firm watermelon and balsamic of some kind and it will be cold. The homemade fettuccine (with funghi) was really good but the sauce, while good and filled with mushrooms and redolent of fresh thyme and the truffle oil it was advertised with, was quite over salted. This seems an egregious error, amateurish, masking the otherwise tasty flavors. After a few bites I felt such a sodium rush that I took the rest home. It is still in the fridge... I know I am sounding like a total food snob but it was reasonably expensive so I expected better. I can imagine someone having a different experience than mine. Perhaps I just ordered wrong. I think if you want nice pasta you could be pleased and the menu offers many other options besides pasta. However, for myself, I would not go back. I'll try one of the other highly recommended restaurants in the area. Westport and surrounds sure has a lot of them!
I am a regular customer here. Food is always good, service is just mediocre. Friday night I had the Halibut special and it was excellent. It came with a side of mashed potatoes which unfortunately were cold. We ordered desert for the table and coffee. They brought out the 3 coffees but forgot my tea. It is these little mix ups that prevent me from giving this restaurant an excellent rating. Funny thing is, I have never noticed a manager or anyone in charge walking around. Nobody has ever stopped by my table to ask how everything is. One other item I wish they would address. For parties of 4 they use these cheap folding tables outdoors. On 2 sides the folding legs protrude and don't allow you to sit close enough. By the end of the night you leave with a sore back.
The setting on the water is beautiful but food is always hot or miss. Service was very good.
Went with friends, three couples altogether. My husband ordered veal saltinboca (not sure of spelling) was suppose to have prosciutto- it didn't. Also, his dinner came out a good 7 minutes after the other 5. The veal was very tough. Our drinks also came at different times before dinner.
We ordered coffee and ask to see a dessert menu but instead he rattled off a few choices and walked away. We never had a chance to order dessert! The three ladies didn't finish so we ask for a take home bag. They arrived at the table with one bag and everything in it. We ask them to please separate then when the bags came we each got the wrong one.
I normally love Arezzo and have been many times. The food and atmosphere were great as always. Out waiter was not pleasant or attentive in any way. I wish I said something to the manager but we were taking my in-laws out for their anniversary and I had my kids with me. I was also shocked that they charged $20 for two half orders of plain penne. Makes no sense. I was really shocked by the service though.
We go to Arezzo often as we enjoy dining outside. Overall we enjoy the experience. Little disappointed this time w/ the food as it was very salty. Also it would be a much better experience if the owners invested in real tables outside — as opposed to the aluminum folding tables they are using. Finally, it would be wonderful if the owners retiled the outdoor dining area. The tiles outside now are very uneven and potentially dangerous.
Great setting outside with river view. Good food and good service
Excellent meal. Very attentive service. definitely recommend.
The overall food was really good. The service was poor at best and it took over two hours for 6 people to eat. They served a salad to one of us. Then brought it out again and charged us twice. I will NEVER go there again. Overall poor experience
This was our first visit to Arezzo. We were seated outside as requested. The food is good. Nice size portions and not overly priced for the area. The problem begins when you have only a few head waiters and a lot of helpers. We wait awhile to place our order and then I was amazed to see our waiter also making our drinks and bartending while there was a lot of staff hanging around. We would probably go back and give it another whirl.
A great Sunday lunch for Father's Day with family. Love the friendly, yet professional staff. Great location on the water in Westport. We sat on the outside deck under umbrellas and had an excellent lunch.
Great for summer lunch or dinner...
Chaotic, short on help for service and parking . Crowed parking scene
Food was really good but it took us 20 min. To get seated due to a slow moving line at the hostess station (there were plenty of open tables). Once we ordered it took 1 hour 15 min. To get our appetizers. SO SLOW! We asked for olive oil for our bread but the bus boy couldn’t help us because he didn’t speak English. Waiter had way too many tables. Despite excellent food & ambience, I won’t be going back any time soon.
Great food the building and decor was beautiful ! The server was very attentive to our needs and the food was delicious ... will be back again
Drinks were not good and waiter told us we were wrong and did not replace them. After he finally took our order, he told us all the veal was gone - we had a 7:30 Reservation. The chicken dishes we were forced to order were dried out and tasteless. My side of pasta was incorrect and a replacement was not brought until I was finished with my main dish. Coffee was provided sparingly. We had friends from out of town and all six of us were totally underwhelmed by the waiter, the service, and the food. A fun night ruined by the poor experience at the restaurant which had been highly recommended. Extremely disappointed!
2 of the 4 of our dinners came out in cooked pretty much raw.
It was excellent but in the wrong city
We really enjoyed our dining experience. The food was delicious and it was s beautiful evening to dine outside by the water. We will definitely go back!!
Arezzo never disappoints. The outside area and sun room are great.
The inside is a little stark.
Very nice lunch outside on a warm day, excellent service and tasty food, just a bit expensive for the non pasta mains
Food was mediocre. No need to return.
The service was terrible! The guy took our orders then that was the last we saw of him. No care or thought to check if we needed anything . When I asked other waiters for things, never got them. I asked to see the manager, the waitress said yes & never brought him over. At the end, I had to seek out the manager . Told him our experience & his excuse was new people working . Then that means weren't trained properly !!! And the water view was looking at dirty water ! Never again !
Not well prepared for a busy Mother's Day. My chicken milanese and my son's chicken's tenders were served raw. While the manager quickly addressed the issue, the quality of food has deteriorated over the years. While the view is amazing, the quality of the food and drink doesn't justify the pricey tab. The Boathouse and Rive Bistro, both on the river, are better alternatives in town.
Food was delicious but service was very slow and lackluckster
Went here with another couple for a 6:00 reservation. We ordered an appetizer and wine right away and then ordered food shortly after. We did not get our food until 7:30. We had to be somewhere by 8:00 so at about 7:20 we asked for the check even though we had not gotten our food yet. My husband's food was not on the bill but instead was 2 of what I ordered. In the interest of time he told them just to bring him that meal since we didn't have time to wait for them to make what he originally ordered. The food was ok, nothing special though. The chicken parm was literally just chicken on a plate with sauce and mozzarella, no sides or garnish. Our server was nice but the service was not great. We had to ask for small plates to go with our appetizer and were looked at strangely when we asked. Maybe they were just having an off night but we will defiantly not be going back or recommending this place to anyone.
Our experience started good and then went down hill. I have an unusual food allergy (garlic/onions) and they were not accommodating (couldn't make mashed potatoes without garlic, nor offered a replacement). Then, my mom's breaded chicken cutlets in her Chicken Milanese dish had a piece of plastic wrap between the chicken and the breading that she almost chocked on. While the server removed the charge, he became extremely rude afterwards as if it was our fault, barely checking in with our table for the remainder of the meal. He eventually gave up and assumed my mom didn't want a replacement meal. I'd like to retry this place, because the other food was good and had a lot of potential, but our particular server wasn't great.
It’s ok. Good taste but better can be found for less. On a nice day the river is fsbulous. But if your inside the noise level can be rather excessive.
Enjoyed our meal however service was a bit slow that evening due to a large party inside. Since we sat outside on the terrace, several members of the private party walked outside with their drinks to have conversations which dampened the ambiance but overall would go back again.
Wonderful location, and this is the only good thing I can say about our experience. The staff was arrogant, the food so-so at best and the service was unreasonably slow. Despite the preferred location, I will not be going back to this restaurant anytime soon.
Delicious food, expertly prepared, expertly served.
Lovely atmosphere, attentive Maitre D and staff.
Definitely will recommend Arezzo to anyone.
Great food, good atmosphere, nice size menu. Would certainly return when in town again.
Our dinner at Arezzo was excellent. Food was great and the chef was flexible on some changes we asked for. Service was excellent- waiters were very professional and paced the meal perfectly.
