Veal Chop Parmigiana with Pasta
Although they accepted an outside reservation they told us on arrival they couldn’t guarantee outside seating, for which we waited 40 minutes past our reserved time. Service at the table was very slow although the food and ambience were terrific. I’ve been there many times but will never go back on a weekend.
The only thing we do not like is having to order our main entre along with the appetizers. Otherwise the food is excellent and we really enjoy the outdoor patio!
We had a lovely Sunday lunch at Arezzo! Staff were attentive, knowledgeable, and courteous. Everyone was in masks and gloves as well. Outside seating was enjoyable as they turned on the heaters for us.
Food was very good, but service was slow, especially waiting for the check.
It was also very cold outside.
This was my third visit to this restaurant after a long hiatus. When we entered and smelled the delicious aroma my husband and I wondered why it took us so long to return. During the course of service we were reminded of why we stopped coming here.... I wanted to return for the excellent food and beautiful location but unfortunately the service remains arrogant. My 85 y/o father wanted a seafood pasta dish with a different kind of pasta - he did not want the squid ink pasta - he wanted regular linguine. The waiter told him that he can only replace it with spaghetti. I know my father- he only wants linguini, and at his age, give him what he wants. The waiter told him he would have to charge extra for linguini vs. spaghetti (No I am not making this up). They finally served him the dish with linguini fini, but close enough I guess. I wanted to order the salmon which is served with broccoli rabe. The waiter said they were out of broccoli rabe. My husband then pointed out that he ordered the orrechiete with sausage and broccoli rabe and then the waiter confirmed they had broccoli rabe for my husband’s pasta dish but not for mine. So I decided to order something else. After my excellent lemon prosecco cocktail which I had with my appetizer I wanted s glass of white wine to have with my entree. I spent the next 10 minutes waiving my hand at every waiter including the matre de, all of who ignored my calls. I finally was able to get my wine 5 minutes after receiving the entre. We ordered a special appetizer salad: watermelon with ricotta, mint pistachio. Very good but they charged us $18.00 for that. When we received the bill we were not up charged for the linguini. If you want excellent Italian food in a beautiful setting and do not mind being ignored and your culinary intelligence insulted then go here. By the way, I was born and raised in An Italian community in NYC, and worked in the restaurant industry. This is not how to treat your guests.
Outdoor venue with excellent food. The Pappadelle with Osso Bocci Ragout was very good. All items were made well with excellent service and good value. All in all, an excellent experience.
I’ve gone to this restaurant many times and the service has been impeccable. This time we brought our out of town guest and the service was terrible. There were no bus people to clear our table, the waiters were overworked and apparently understaffed because they were working hard. We did not get water refills or someone checking to see if food was fine or if we wanted mote drinks or wine . My husband said it would be a long time until we return . We also booked a table for outside and were told to come earlier and still they sat us inside 🙁. Too much competition to keep going back to a restaurant that disappoints !
Wait staff spilled whole glass of water onto my gf. Waiter who were taking care of our table didn’t know about that until I mention about it while asking for a check. Other than saying sorry. There was no sincere apology nor any offer of discount for dry cleaning. My gf has to walk to the car in wet pants.
Food was great, menu is great. We got put at a table in an alleyway close to the road, not the best seat in the house. I would return.
Noisy sitting near the Post Road side ..
place was packed on Friday night, hence service was slow
Appetizer Fried Calamari exactly 4 pieces of zucchini in the entire dish!
Server was very pleasant and apologetic about the length of time between courses. We have been here many times and always enjoy Arezzo: this was an "off" night in our experience.
We were hoping for a waterside outdoor dining experience but the weather was not on our side. The restaurant was not packed and comfortable spaces between tables so we were relaxed. The food was so delicious I am still thinking about my meal. I had the penne with eggplant and mozzarella, it was just heavenly! We all loved our dinners and the waiter gave us a nice wine selection too that was delicious! We will definitely go back another time we are in CT and hopefully get to enjoy the outside dining! Thank you for the lovely dinner!
Perfect place to celebrate our anniversary. Outstanding service and delicious food.
Outstanding food, great service & a terrific location.
Very bad service. Food, as usual, good. Multiple waitstaff taking ordersZ no follow-up. Only bussperson followed up or we might still be there from Saturday night.
The food at Arezzo is always amazing. HOWEVER, the outdoor service since covid is horrible. Went with a group of 5. Every table was full, but there did seem like enough staff to handle it and none of the tables at the time seemed too needy. We waited about 45 minutes just to get attention to place an order. The food timing was super reasonable, but the staff just are not attentive. I’m not new to the more laid back, European style of dining, but it was just too long between check ins. The icing on the cake is when we split the bill totally evenly and did not ask for any special breakdown. Just handed over the tab and said even is fine. Our waiter literally a foot from our table walks by another waiter, opens the bill and makes a joke that we split it, and they both laughed as of that was the most low class thing to do on a $400 bill.
I’ll still go back but only for the food. The service is an absolute joke for a popular restaurant in Westport.
It is located next to the river, with a nice view. Food is OK, quite big portions.
This was a BEAUTIFUL patio right on the water, attentive and friendly service, and amazing food. Such a gem to find, thank you!
Only in Richmond, VA for the night and stop by for dinner. It was really really amazing! Our hostess/waitress was the sweetest person ever, gave us a complimentary bottle of wine (Newlyweds) - food was exceptional! Highly recommended!
great view and great food.....................................
Lovely and delicious
Great food great service. Awesome setting. Highly recommend
Awesome food, great location and service, can't wait to go back. Had the calamari appetizer and beet salad, perfect meal under the sun.
They did not honor the reservation. Had to wait just like a walk in. No preference. 30 min wait. Hostess said that was their policy, so they shouldn’t even be on open table.
Even in record heat, the breeze off the river mDe it pleasant.
Very lovely location, friendly service. Generous portions.
Great food and service
Don’t be fooled by the scenic location - I had a life-threatening allergic reaction at Arezzo and the management team responded completely inappropriately to the incident, showcasing their lack of professionalism, regard for the customer, and empathy.
I have a very serious allergy to dairy and informed my server of this when I placed my order. When my food arrived, I clarified again that there was no dairy and my server checked with the kitchen and reassured me that it had been prepared without dairy. However, I still had a serious allergic reaction after eating my meal. It was disturbing that at an upscale restaurant such as this one, despite my clarifying multiple times that my meal had no dairy, there was still an error.
Even more disturbing, though, was the management’s response to the incident. When I called the restaurant to tell them what had happened and ask for answers regarding how the mix-up had occurred I was placed on hold and finally directed to a manager who took my information and stated he would call me back. I never received a call back and had to four more times over the next week, each time being placed on hold and finally directed to someone who had never heard my story and again took my information to supposedly call me back when they had figured out what had happened. My partner finally called and ultimately spoke to a manager who admitted to remembering speaking to me yet had not taken any action to determine the cause of the reaction or to instate changes to prevent future incidents with other customers, despite almost a week having passed since our meal. I was appalled at the lack of attention given to a situation that, to a restaurant, should be a priority. The managers and owners showed no concern for a life threatening event that took place in their establishment and took no steps to determine what had happened and fix the cause and I can only assume that that lack of professionalism carries over into other aspects of their business.
took 15 minutes for menu. my entree was to include salmon did not come.
Fabulous experience! The social salad was delicious and the ambience next to the water was calm and enjoyable. We appreciated the safety precautions that were taken in response to COVID, we even saw them measuring the distance between tables to ensure they were compliant!
We had the gnocchi and lobster ravioli. Both were outstanding! The service was very good and views were great!
Excellent outdoor dining experience. Attentive staff. Terrific food. Beautiful water view.
Hard to decide which aspects are the most important: great kitchen, wonderful views, and out doors which is especially important during this Pandemic and our needs for both fresh air and proper distancing.
Accommodated us beautifully, staff was masked and gloved and super considerate of the well being of everyone. Food was great.
whether it wwas appetizer, entree,or desert we kept getting anwsers to our selection--we ran out of that item yesterday. if you are an italian restaurant if you dont have squash ravioli you ought to have some kind of specialty ravioli. it was a that's it take it or leave it.i have taken my family here inthe past both summer and winter, never again.
Enjoyed dinner outside on the patio with our 2 daughters. We were seated quickly and efficiently. My husband ordered the veal milanese but was presented with the fisherman's stew. Our server was very apologetic and offered to get the correct order but the rest of the table had been served so my husband kept the stew. Happily it was pretty good. The special halibut dish was also good . We had an enjoyable meal in a very relaxed and pretty setting .
Visiting with an old friend outside
First time to eat out since March.
Food and service were excellent.
Will definitely return.
I had been to Arezzo once before.. The ambience is what made me want to try it again. The hostess was lovely. The table was perfect. We did feel however the prices were extremely high and did not feel it was necessary to charge $5.00 for extra cheese on our parmigiana dishes. Also $9.00 for 2 scoops of gelato? It also took very long to get a second drink, but we did notice it looked like there was only 1 bartender. They should rethink that, especially on the weekends. May be nice to revisit but only for a special occasion.
This was a lovely meal out. Our waiter knew the menu well and made some excellent recommendations. The pasta was incredible! The ambiance was really nice too. I don’t mind eating around kids and families (I have my own) but it was really nice to go to a restaurant that was mainly adults and couples out for some romance. Great date night spot!
The food was delicious
