We are determined to keep safe during this turbulent period. We have undertaken detailed risk assessments to work to mitigate the risk of Covid-19. One of the most important and notable precautions that we have taken is that we have taken our entire restaurant outside for a complete Al Fresco experience. You will be enjoying the best seafood in a beautiful outside space in Borough Market once again!
Currently all bookings are for outdoors only - we have two sections outdoors, the Gazebo & The Market seating. We have very limited seating for our Gazebo and are assigning to our guests who booked first. All of the the seating is covered but we do have some limitations on how many heaters we can have. Please dress warm as we are all outdoors for the time being. We look forward to seeing you all soon!

Fish & Chips
using cod, with homemade tartare and mushy peas
Mixed Seafood Platter (for 2)
with a whole lobster, tiger prawns and scallops; all cooked with lots of garlic and chilli butter served with hand cut chips and a mixed salad
Moules Marinière Using St Austell Mussels
with sourdough bread
Great atmosphere and staff, food always good even whilst in the outside marquee not lost it’s star rating
we sat down for lunch at 3.30 and the staff were so helpful and helped us move tables to undercover we had lovely bread with Tapenade and decided to push the boat out and have the Mixed Seafood platter for 2 lobster halves was over cooked and rubbery but claws were lovely
King prawns were delicious as were the scallops in a chilli butter
chips were boring and salad was very boring
it was overall a lovely lunch but expensive for what we got
Salmon with truffle mash potatos and cheesecake for the dessert just delicious 👌👌
Amazing food. Thank you for providing us with an amazing experience.
Amazing food, service and lovely place
Amazing restaurant in the heart of Borough Market. Beautiful food and brilliant staff—knowledgeable, courteous, and friendly. The manager was very personable as well and talked us through the menu. Lovely restaurant and a definite must visit if you’re in London!
Brilliant meal & service. Well managed & covered outdoor seating
Delicious food, brilliant staff and a lovely atmosphere. We had a family meal for my Dad's 70th and it felt like a real treat - superb food and service in a relaxed and welcoming setting.
The restaurant is very well situated and has a great atmosphere.
We had battered cod, chips and the monkfish and chorizo skewer with two draft lagers.
The monkfish skewer was delicious and the lagers were great too.
For me the batter on the cod was a little heavy but the fish itself was flaky and moist, my only criticism was the chips which were not good enough for a restaurant of this calibre.
The staff were exceptional however and a credit to the establishment, attentive courteous and welcoming.
I will definitely go again to sample the rest of the menu.
Food was fresh and great but seems a bit overpriced. Opentable need to update menu. Ee ordered a grilled seafood platter which was priced £85 in open table's menu but was actually £120 at the restaurant.
Loved the Al Fresco vibe and great feel all together with the tasty food.
Amazing food, fresh and very good selection
2nd Visit here and loved the food . Can’t wait to eat inside again though . This place is definitely worth a visit .
Never fails amazing food great service
So good to be back, thank you for providing a safe dining experience with sublime food!
Consistently delicious food. We’ve been many times before and will be back!
Amazing restaurant, amazing atmosphere and great service. Seating was well thought-out considering all restaurants must seat outdoor for the time being. The food was brilliant, the oysters were fresh, the Tuna was cooked perfectly and the Bass was flawless. Thanks again
Great food & very friendly service.
Great outdoor dining area with cover & heating.
Look forward to visiting again
As always great food, wonderful service and ambience, if you like fish and a buzzy atmosphere, reasonably priced ,this is the place to go.
Great food, good wine, great vibes.
The staff is friendly. Some good dishes but over all the menu is just confused. They served a ceviche - but it isn’t proper ceviche. No lemon marinade, just raw slimy fish with sprinkled pomegranate. Not even any seasoning.
Then they served a risotto ball with lobster. Nothing wrong with it but where was the lobster in the mixture?
The menu also has a skewer of monkfish with chorizo served hanging like it’s a bell or some coat hanger.. the most ridiculous looking presentation and simply unnecessary. Here we’ve got too many styles of cuisine. It’s not because it’s all based around the theme of fish that it all makes sense. It doesn’t and it causes the quality of the plates to falter because there’s no expertise. What’s the idea behind mixing Peruvian, Italian and Spanish ? What’s going on?
I had a simple fish and chips and a sole and that was the best bit of the dinner. Because it was simple and local to borough market. When we go to Applebee’s we expect good simple British seaside food. Not a half assed ceviche or a risotto ball with mushy lobster. It’s not a fusion restaurant and doesn’t have that identity.
If you need a lesson in how to run a restaurant then go visit Applebee's... from the first minute you are greeted by the guy at front of house to the moment you leave, all staff here make you feel comfortable and welcome.
The food is sublime, from the sourdough and olives appetizers to the sea bass main with creamed spinach, everything is delicious and cooked to perfection, my only complaint is I wanted more because it was so delightful.
The waiters and waitresses are so on the ball they remember every order by memory with no pen or paper and you are never left waiting for food or drinks at any point of the night but you don't feel like they are rushing you either.
Even the pale ale was lovely, probably better than most local pubs.
How I managed to get a booking here last minute was anyone's guess as nearly everywhere in London bridge was fully booked, and boy was it my lucky day....full respect to all the employees here for making such an effort to set up a restaurant outside in half an hour and make it such a perfect night for their guests.
Its not often I give a perfect score to a night out but Applebee's fish gets a perfect 10/10.
We had a lovely waitress who was very helpful, the food was really delicious. Overall great time, would recommend!
I think Applebee's is my favourite restaurant in London. We always have a great meal - it's a fantastic location to enjoy the buzz of Borough Market and the food is great and we had lovely wine too. Staff were excellent and we had a lovely lunch yesterday celebrating my boyfriend's birthday - was such a treat to sit in a restaurant finally and have a lovely meal!
The best fish and chips in town. Great wine, excellent service, superb location.
The best food so far ... it will be my new fish place.
Great food, great service & the buzz of borough market surrounding it
The food was really delicious and super fresh. The portions are a bit smaller so be prepared to order/spend a bit more. Unfortunately we were slightly rushed by the manager who comes flying around the tables, ensuring we leave our table at our time limit. This could have been approached in a softer way especially given the waiter hadn’t come around to take our order yet. Other than his approach it was great food.
Applebee’s has managed a brilliant transition from indoor to covered outside. A great evening out.
We literally loved our meal yesterday and the staff were so friendly and helpful
The food was delicious. Great atmosphere. Had a really lovely evening
Everyone enjoyed their food. Would definitely return again in the future.
Took my mum who doesn’t eat meat here for her birthday and between 3 of us we had lobster arancini, small mussels to start and then the seafood platter for 2. It was ample food and delicious
The food was generally expensive for portion size, and overall dishes were hit and miss. The seafood platter was good but needs more seasoning, and a bigger table needed (when seated for 2) to really enjoy it without worrying you may knock off the other dishes from your table whilst trying to get into your lobster.
A very slow service, coupled with bad & unfriendly service from two of the male waiters we had. They mostly ignored us & seemed unbothered with little attention to detail. One even argued with us when we highlighted there was a mistake (on their side) with one of our orders. The female waiter later helped to redeem the experience with friendlier service.
The manager later apologised for the slow service after we asked for the service charge to be removed from our bill.
Overall value & experience for money would be poor-average. Good to visit once, but based on experience would look for another seafood restaurant.
The food was absolutely delicious. Oysters were fresh and clean ! Seafood platter was also amazing! Our table was quite small for the food and made eating a little uncomfortable !
Didnt like sitting away from the restaurant in the market either. The vice would have been better if we were in the tent by the restaurant . It was also quite cold there.
Would definitely go back for the food but when indoor eating is allowed again !
The monkfish was dry and chewy, disappointing
But we got a glass of dessert wine on the house
We loved it. Amazing place with extremely delicious Fish and chips.
Very polite, and just charming waiter Ruben.
Great! Lovely food sea food platter was unreal get a lot!
The oysters had not been opened correctly (12) that resulted in shells throughout. Staff seemed uninterested when this was raised.
Generally felt they wanted people in and out...we were reminded we had the table for 2 hours...then told we had to leave 15 minutes early...
Manager when clearing the table managed to not a glass of wine over...all over me...
Generally not in line with expectations...
Shame as the sharing fish platter was excellent...
The staff were lovely and attentive, the food was amazing 🤩 We had the seafood platter, everything was cooked to perfection! The ambience was nice considering it was quite late and we were sat outside.
I would definitely visit again!!!!
