    As a classic restaurant, the dark and intimate vibe makes the dining experience worth the cost! Being reasonably priced, the mushrooms and onions are a great bite if you are sitting for a drink at the bar like we did. Overall, very cozy and delish!

    The waiter had a bit of an attitude when we selected a wine from the lowest price point. They have a huge mark-up on wines. The waiter was only adequate because he only stopped by occasionally. The food was delicious. The atmosphere was formal and nice, except it was too dark to read the menu.

    We were visiting from out of state and chose this restaurant based on Open Table reviews. We were not disappointed! The restaurant has a dark, moody atmosphere and is beautiful. The staff is well-trained and attentive, but not hovering. The food is delicious!!! We split a wedge salad (portions are large and shareable). Hubby had escargot and a filet with baked potato (huge potato)! I had the Chilean Sea Bass. It was amazing! We were celebrating my hubby’s birthday and our 46th wedding anniversary. My hubby received a complimentary dessert with a chocolate Happy Birthday banner. I had a tangerine sorbet with a chocolate Happy Anniversary banner! All yummy! We loved Butcher & Singer and will return the next time we are in Philadelphia!

    The food and drinks were top notch. We ordered the filet mignon and the NY strip. Perfectly cooked! The salads and side dishes were just as good, but if we went back just to have the lemon icebox pie that would be A-okay with us. Sooooo good! Our waiter was fun and attentive but the hosts in front could have been more warm and friendly. It's the only blemish on a very wonderful evening at Butcher and Singer.

    Wonderful for a special occasion dinner! Gorgeous environment sets the mood. Tables not crowded together. Interesting music adds to the ambience. The food is outstanding. Everyone, from servers, to all staff, in kitchen and the grill, all care about bringing you the food exactly as you want it to be! Perfection all around!
