Food amazing as always. We waited 30 minutes before I had to ask for waiter to take our drink order. He was a little more attentive after.
Went for a late lunch and had the restaurant week lunch. The funghi ripieni appetizer was excellent and could be shared. The capellini was very good and the right size for lunch. The tiramisu was delicious! We also enjoyed a bottle of the house pinot grigio - Paggio - very nice. Only one employee was there to take care of us and the remaining few other customers, and he had to bus tables, etc., so he was a bit rushed. Have been there many times for dinner, when it's very noisy, so a quiet lunch was nice.
Best Italian restaurant in East County.
Decor and food take me back to Italy.
Delicious food and service is fantastic!
my wife and had lunch during restaurant week the service was outstanding so was food .
I have recommended this restaurant to several friends and it never disappoints. Excellent service with piping hot food coming straight out of the kitchen. An excellent place to have a delicious meal and good conversation!
Wonderful food. Top-notch service. Great value.
Delicious food. Good wine list.Friendly service.Excellent menu for SD Restaurant Week.
Being Restaurant Week we expected it to be crowded and it was. When we first arrived it was very noisy and 2 with hearing aids were having trouble but as it quieted down it was fine. Loved the decor and the food was very good. Will definitely be back.
Service and friendliness and the feeling of being really cared for is always present.
The food never disappoints and we love going here. It is a treat that my friend and I do often.
Very enjoyable evening. Food very good. Service great.
Good service, easy parking. Food tasted great!! Good wine list!
I have been to Antica many times...it has never failed to provide excellent service and fantastic food! Italian food with a touch of class for sure
We had a party of 6. The food was delicious and the service was great. We will be back.
This was our first time here and we were impressed. The ambiance is inviting, it feels like a true Italian restaurant. The service was on point and everything we ate was delicious.
Always consistently good tasting food and excellent service!
The service makes this restaurant perfection, the staff is always attentive. The plating presentation is lovely, and the food is delicious. Our party of four enjoyed our different entrées, all served hot. Always a joy to dine here.
Daily special lobster ravioli was delicious. Service was top notch. Authentic Italian food! Looking forward to our next visit.
Consistently delicious all the time! It’s our favorite go to restaurant in our neighborhood but it’s also right up there with any downtown establishment. Ludo is our favorite waiter, charming, attentive and makes great recommendations! A great little place not to be overlooked.
Excellent food and service!
We first visited because of a review in the Union-Tribune on authentic Italian restaurants in greater San Diego and we’ve been back a few times since then. My favorite is the brasato (short ribs), but everything we’ve ordered has been delicious. The restaurant is comfortable and the staff is friendly and attentive. Antica Trattoria is now on our short list of favorite restaurants in San Diego, though in La Mesa, and you can tell why they have a loyal following. Try this place, you’ll be glad you did!
As in the past, a thoroughly enjoyable evening. We had very attentive but not intrusive service, and a few nice touches -- a partial refill of a dwindling wine glass without an additional charge, and a no-charge luscious spumoni dessert because the occasion was my (high number...) birthday. The waiter also patiently allowed me to use my few words and phrases in Italian, making the evening a little more special and reminiscent of past trips to Italy. We're so grateful that Antica Trattoria is in our neighborhood, which makes it even better!
Four for dinner and all enjoyed their meal. Penne with lobster sauce, calamari, short ribs and cioppino were excellent. $85 special gave us two bottles of wine, a red (pinot noir) and a white (sangiovese), as well as a cannoli and a tiramisu for desert. Consistent and reliable service and food.
The food was AMAZING! Best Italian food; I have EVER had! Not to mention, the ambiance and atmosphere was beautiful. Definitely will be back very soon.
Antica is always a pleasure! Great food, service & atmosphere. One of the best kept secrets in La Mesa!
We love taking our guests to Antica because we can always count on superb food and personal, professional, and attentive service. It continues to be a neighborhood gem and our personal favorite.
We ordered the chef special which included two salads two main courses a dessert to share and a bottle of wine.
Antica Trattoria is my favorite restaurant in San Diego. Amazing food, coupled with warm, welcoming service from people who truly care.
Always a good experience.
It was New Year’s Eve, so somewhat understandable but we were rushed out and for what we received it was horrible value. This was my first time and I’ve heard good things...not so much! Lots of other dining choice around.
Antica has always delivered wonderful food. The service is always first class.
The only disappointment was that there was no pasta on the New Year’s Eve menu.
Cramped space and long wait for food was worth it as the food was excellent! I’m definitely coming back and highly recommend it.
Great menu very reasonable. Service was very good and food was hot!
Lovely experience. Food was very good and service was excellent. Wish they had a full bar.
Absolutely delicious food. Gnocchi was to die for.
brought two friends with us--they had heard of the place and were very impessed
one of my favorites in San Diego!
Fantastic food and service! My new favorite restaurant. What a find in our neighbors
Always great. The Brussels sprouts appetizer was delicious. My wife loved the special, butternut squash ravio!i.
I used to love it but now it is noisy, a long wait even with RSVPs, and inattentive unaccommodating service
