Antica Posta Ratings and Reviews
We went for my boy friend’s 30th birthday. The setting is beautiful. The staff was very attentive. The food was delicious. They even brought out a free birthday dessert and shots of limoncello. We will definitely be back for a special occasion in the future.
Another great dining experience!
The service is warm and accommodating, but not intrusive, and Marco is the perfect host.
If it's available, be sure to order the Mediterranean Branzino; it's absolutely superb.
"Best veal chop in Atlanta!" the menu exclaims. I certainly haven't tasted every veal chop offered in Atlanta to be able to personally verify that claim, but I can tell you this: The chop that came to our table was the best I have ever tasted, in Atlanta or elsewhere, and would be mighty hard to beat.
Antica Posta is a quintessential Buckhead restaurant. Food was really delicious and the service was really good. Went for my friend's birthday and the waiter was so nice to bring out limoncello shots for the table and a small dessert for the birthday girl. Prompt service, nice atmosphere and overall the best pasta I've had in Atlanta. The owner Marco is really committed to providing a great dining experience.
The place was loud. There were two parties of atleast 10. They set us in the corner right by these two parties. Both parties bought atleast 4 bottles of wine, so they were definitely feeling it and by feeling it I mean loud! The waitress was amazing, she saved the entire night just with her personality and presence. The food was bland I had the gnocchi with a meat sauce, it tasted plain without flavor as if they just cooked ground beef and put it in a tomatoes paste. The nougat dessert was amazing though which helped. All in all I won't come back, only thing they have going for them is the wait staff.
This is a nice restaurant with a rustic Italian ambiance. The food was delicious and was authentic Italian. On th whole the service was very good but we did have to keep asking for bread. The waiter was pleasant but did not make any recommendations or try to engage us. Other than that, it was a very nice dinner!
The lobster pasta is legendary and lives up to its reputation. We usually enjoy splitting this as an appetizer as only one size is offered. Then on to the swordfish or lamb, both excellent. Swordfish is unusually cut to be very thin but a large piece nonetheless. Antica Posta has been around for years and it’s easy to see why - consistency and superb service. Nice Italian wine list plus several American offerings as well. Love this place.
I know this is supposed to be a non-corporate "neighborhood gem" but it doesn't meet the standard of other similar corporate restaurants in the area. The food was good but not great and the prices were higher than their competitors. The service was not great either so I can't say I would ever try them again.
Antica Posta has been an Atlanta favorite for many years though we haven't been in quite a while so we were looking forward to having our annual friend Christmas celebration there. Overall, the experience was very lackluster.
I received a call to confirm the reservation with a request for a return call. I called back & spoke to someone to confirm. I mention this because that would have been a perfect opportunity to communicate that the bar would be closed for a private event that night. We typically meet much earlier than our reservation to have a cocktail at the bar but were left just standing around.
We were seated in a lovely room upstairs but ended up waiting and waiting and waiting on someone to take a cocktail order. I ended up pouring water for our table throughout the night because our glasses were constantly empty. The food was good but nothing outstanding. The service was slow and just unimpressive with a lot of confusion (at one point that waitress asked me the name of the reservation because there was a mix up at the hostess stand). When we went to leave, the extremely inattentive valets (didn't open doors, didn't ask if we needed to get our car, just stood around talking to each other) wouldn't allow my Uber driver to turn around. So, he backed out into a busy city street in the snow.
There are too many great options in Atlanta to waste time & money on a bad experience.
The experience was wonderful. Our waiter went above and beyond. The chef prepared a special birthday desert for my 5yr twins birthday. He came and greated us at the table. The entire staff was deightful and the food, AMAZINGGGGGGGGG. The sea bass , yummm and the wine selection was a perfect recommendation. To bad we dont have one in Miami
Great place! Wife and I found this spot when looking for places in Atlanta. Restaurant is located in what looks to be an older house right in Buckhead. Parking, I think was valet only, but not too sure since we took a cab. Dress was casual , but you could dress up or down and not feel out of place. The meal itself was outstanding. Everything was so authentic and true to real Italian cuisine, from our appetizers to our main course right through dessert. We will definitely be coming back because there was so much on the menu that we did not get to try! Great food, great atmosphere, great price!
Gluten-Free options are plentiful here and that is truly rare to find in nicer restaurants.
My husband was diagnosed with Celiac Disease and we have to be vigilant in watching what he eats. They have pastas that taste great and are gluten-free so just another reason to return!
Took my wife for our 15th Anniversary last Friday. We had an early reservation (6:30). The restaurant was empty when we arrived so we started out a little nervous. It turns out it is just a later crowd for sure at Antica Posta. The restaurant was thriving by 7:30. For the food, well, I go to Italy 2 times a year at least and this is the closest place to a true Italian restaurant in Atlanta. The food is just amazing, authentic and fresh. I will be telling everyone about Antica Posta and I will be going there always when I need a good fix of Italy! Dont think twice, GO!
I saw the next day that my reservation to Antica Posta was cancelled for last night. That was very interesting because I ate there and spent about $160.
When I was leaving, I was asked how I liked the meal. I said "It was OK." He asked again, and I said the same thing. We went out to wait for the car. The server can running out and asked me what was wrong and was the service OK. I said the two things I ordered (appetizer octopus and scallops) had too much sugar on them in the sauce, and I would not be back again but the service was fine. My guess is that this reservation was cancelled because he (whoever that was) did not want a negative review on Open Table.
