Anthony's Fish Grotto, located on its own private spring-fed lake in La Mesa, offers delicious food, amazing service, and an unmatched atmosphere. A complete menu offers both seafood and meat choices. The restaurant is open seven days a week for lunch and dinner. You can enjoy cocktails in the bar or on the heated lake view patio alongside our fire-pit. Your well-behaved dogs are welcome to join you at our lakefront tables to enjoy a relaxing meal together. Our Bocce Ball Court can be used by any guest or booked for a private event.

So definitely old world kitsch which is kind of interesting and a throwback to bygone years. A refresh could help. The water is unique and a nice addition. Lauren's service e was excellent! The food and drinks not so much. The Snapper and Salmon were ok. Not a lot of flavor in either dish. The asparagus was overcooked, mashed potatoes were bland, and the coleslaw was odd. Interestingly, the mixed drinks may have been the worst part of the meal. The bartender added soda water to the Old Fashioned! Just wrong.

My fish was greasy and it was not fresh (tasted fishy). We had to wait approximately 10 minutes for our waiter to bring water. We won’t be going back

After a rushed service from Anthony's on a resent visit, we decided to try again and the good service was back! I am glad to know that whatever was going on a few months ago is not gong to be a permanent change. We enjoyed a leisurely dinner with the same waiter even and were very pleased. We selected a booth and when seated, were told that the table had been just sanitized to ease our minds from the current health concerns. I am happy to once again give Anthony's 5 stars.

Always outstanding food with great service. Our waiter had worked for Anthony's for 42 years and the service showed. Best place for seafood.

Fui a celebrar mi aniversario de Bodas, el servicio es excelente y la comida muy buena, el costo-calidad es justo. Lo único que no nos gusto mucho es la ubicación del restaurante, antes había uno en la zona turística de San Diego, y la decoración del lugar no es la mejor. Aún asi lo recomiendo y regresaríamos

I have been going to Anthony's since Oct 1946 when i was just 4 months old. Of course i don't have any recollection. However I do know the food. I get the steamed clams, fish and chips with house salad. My wife gets the fried shrimp house salad and clam chowder. We go several times each year.
