Wonderful meal. We wanted to have some good southern meal and this place was exactly what we were looking for. The soup, fried okra, shrimp and greats were perfect starters.

My husband and I sat at the bar, and Mike took great care of us! You must have the crispy flounder! Great food, super friendly, and an over all great experience!

Anson is always delicious! Very consistent. Everything on the menu is outstanding. We have enjoyed almost everything on the menu. Staff is always warm and friendly.

Food was delicious, especially the calamari with shishito peppers and pork belly and the veal chop special. The shrimp and grits and pecan pie were also pretty exceptional! Our server was attentive and friendly as well as knowledgeable in assisting with wine selections.

Decided to try this restaurant, after chatting with a gentleman cleaning the windows outside. Quiet almost romantic atmosphere inside. Friendly staff. We both were in the mood for a steak, after eating seafood for five days. The filets were delicious, cooked perfectly. We shared an apple cobbler, which was amazing! Highly recommend this restaurant.

We have been fans of Anson's since it opened and remain such! The food is, always, excellent but Saturday, Feb. 27th, the calamari special was outstanding! We have eaten calamari at many excellent restaurants and this dish was the best ever. Our server, Darnell, had several tables yet we never felt the least bit neglected as he is a true professional. it was really nice, a little to noise some groups just loud. my fish had too many bones for my liking. overall delicious.

Have returned multiple times, taken family..would recommend to anyone...food is excellent, service can’t be beat...far better than higher price locations in Charleston..try the flounder...it is awesome!

Everything was great. Kyle took care of us very well. It was sad that they took the shrimp cocktail off the menu. The osters were OK as an alternative. Would like to see the shrimp cocktail in addition to the other shrimp appetizer.

Wait staff was excellent.
I question why people weren’t seated at tables with linens on the them. All the tables in the middle of the main dinning room were covered but no one was seated there?

This was a very enjoyable dining experience from the moment we arrived. The environment felt clean, safe, and comfortable. The crispy flounder is a must have dish. Great Charleston dining.

Food was very good. Restaurant worked hard to accommodate some adjustments with a relatively large group at last moment and made everything work out for us. Waitress was great.

A Charleston can't-miss, and always on my personal top tier of Charleston restaurants. While other restaurants come and go, Anson is a perennial winner. The dinner menu is a bit limited, but everything on the menu shines, from the shrimp and grits to the cheeseburger. Service is top-notch. The upstairs is split into separate rooms, providing a quieter, more intimate environment. Downstairs is where the bar is located, and is a bit louder. It appeared that proper COVID precautions were being taken by all Anson staff. Plan on making reservations well in advance.

Well rounded menu for all tastes

Went with our family, 5 of us. Fried green tomatoes to die for, shrimp and grits incredible, steak and mashed potatoes yummy! Service so great! wonderful experience! I can’t wait to go again next time we are in Charleston!!

Really enjoy going to Charleston and Ansons will always be on my list. Love the whole flounder and almond basket for dessert. Owners make you feel so welcome.

Night before Valentines Day!

The wife and I got into Charleston a little late and happened across this restaurant as it was near our hotel. I’m glad we found it. The food was incredible and the service was top notch. I was even able to get the ingredients for one of the sauces I really enjoyed. Amazing experience.

Anson was delicious!! We got the duck and the filet and both were amazing. We started with the she crab and calamari - 10/10. We will be back!

I really like this place. It feels cozy and warm, and everyone is very welcoming. The food is very good, and not overpriced. Highly recommended.
