   Fine Dining with Superior Seafood quality Anson is one of the best restaurants in Charleston when it comes to seafood options. The high quality and freshness is the key and dinning in a more nice quiet and romantic ambience is the second factor why this place made it to my top 5 restaurant in Charleston for fine seafood dinning establishment. Items we tried and loved: Shrimp De Johnge Crab Louie Lobster Bucatini Pan roasted Grouper As for dessert, the pecan pie is one of the best of its kind, a truly authentic southern bite. The wine list is meticulously selected with several options fairly priced. I found my favorite Chardonnay from a top winery that usually send their wines to fine dining restaurants rather than to the market. “Kistler”. Less than twice the winery release price. The dessert wine “Honig late harvest Sauv. Blanc” was so interesting and perfect to end a nice meal. It is the American version of the French sauterne. Service. Adequate. They are very busy, so attention to the table could be on the slower side, but fine for less interruptions. Very friendly and helpful waiting staff Value: you pay the price of fine dining that provides a nice ambience serving the freshest seafood with dishes that are perfectly executed. Recommendations: highly recommended for nice romantic meal.

   Food, service, atmosphere...just perfect. We visit Charleston once a year and this will be on our short list of mandatory meals when we visit. I'm so happy we found it!

   Exceptional experience. Food is delectable and service was outstanding. We ate upstairs where the atmosphere was quite romantic. A very friendly staff made for a special time.

   Extraordinary. My family have been frequent guests at Anson's for around 20 years. It is our first choice when we have snooty Northerner foodie guests. I quietly think, "so you feel you can only get a good meal in New York? Hmm, I can explode that myth in seconds at Anson's." This is a restaurant about perfections. Perfect greeting at the door by the manager - OK, beyond perfect because he laughs and treats us like family. Perfect service at the table by Darnell. Perfect pours of Scotch or wine. Perfect she crab soup appetizer. Spot-on perfect fried green tomatoes. Perfect roasted oysters. Perfect crispy flounder. And, beyond perfect steaks (the best I have ever had, and I grew up in New York). So, try it out and treat yourself to perfection.

   We are locals and frequent Charleston restaurants frequently and know the high cost of dinning out. However, there comes a breaking point and Anson was it. This was our first time here. We usually try the She Crab Soup in every restaurant but could not bring ourselves to pay $14 for a cup. I had the Lobster Bruccatini. For $44 there should have been some pasta that was covered with Lobster but it was just the opposite. A few pieces of Lobster in a bowel of Pasta. Restaurants cannot keep increasing prices without value to the customer. There are at least a dozen other restaurants that provide that value in Charleston, unfortunately Anson is not one of them and we will not be returning.

   We had a great dinner and experience with Darnel as our server. Food was fantastic and they provided decent sized portions. Food was fresh and authentic. We were checked on by various individuals during the course of our evening. Ambience was very nice. Would definitely come back for special occasions. Highly recommend this restaurant. Be prepared for $22 mixed drink prices although bottled beer was $8-9.

    This restaurant is so good we drove from Greenville this morning to eat here and then drove back home! It’s that good. The building is beautiful. The staff is incredible!!! And the food!?! Perfection. We LOVE the fried green tomatoes. I also very much enjoy all the handmade pastas. My daughter got the cheeseburger and it was so flavorful and perfectly cooked. There are plenty of great restaurants in Charleston, but this one is simply the best. Hands down.
