Since 1937, once nestled in the middle of cornfields stands the Smokehouse Market. An unpretentious structure, reminiscent of its days as the market for the surrounding Chesterfield area. The store now houses one of St. Louis's most celebrated restaurants, Annie Gunn's. Within its walls, Chef Lou Rook, III works his magic, creating irresistible cuisine with a sophisticated country life accent. We had a great time at Annie Gunn’s. I hadn’t been here in many years, but it was as good as I remembered. The service was outstanding and the food was delicious. I’m just sorry I didn’t save room for the bread pudding.

Anniversary dinner at Annie Gunn’s never lets you down. We enjoyed our anniversary at Annie Gunn’s again this year and everything from the welcome with a “Happy Anniversary” as we walked in, to the service and food was outstanding. Oysters to start with were fresh, and the steaks were cooked to our liking. Dessert of apply pie with cinnamon ice cream was a perfect end to a great dinner. Our server, George, was wonderful, making us feel special on our special night. We love Annie Gunn’s anytime, but it is a great place for those special occasions in your life.

Annie Gunn's is a wonderful place to celebrate a special occasion. The staff is always very polite and helpful, and the food is always amazing. We especially enjoyed the New York strip steak, the lamb chops, the many oyster options, and the dessert on the house (apple pie with cinnamon ice cream) to help us celebrate our special occasion.

The food was absolutely delicious. We wanted to share two different meals and the chef divided each and then did a marvelous job of presenting two beautiful plates. Not only was the food wonderful, but the service was also top notch. We will certainly make Anne Gunn's a regular stop.
