Food, wine and service were excellent. The Scottish crab with lemon crumpet was absolutely amazing. Flavors and textures combined wonderfully. One of the best things I’ve ever eaten.

We had a really nice evening at Angels & Bagpipes. I am a little skeptical of all the touristy spots on the Royal Mile, but this hidden (in the open) gem was a surprise and delight. The food was excellent, and this tiny place was very cute in back. My husband raved about the sea trout. I had the chicken appetizer and a salad - both of which were good; the chicken much more so. Caesar was nothing to write home about. Definitely worth a try.

This is a fantastic Scottish restaurant that pays attention to the small details, have a unique menu, and a professional service. Location is right at the Royal Mile of Edinburgh, toilets are clean. Prices are a bit high, but I found it worth paying.

Very limited menu choice and didn't like that some of the mains don't come with carbs (potatoes, rice, pasta) and we were told that to order sides is not possible. In the end, after pushing, we managed to order sides of chips.

My husband and I booked this before heading to Edinburgh. It did not disappoint! We shared the small plate of battered cod goujons, while I had the oysters with scotch bonnet and whiskey hot sauce. Amazing! Then he chose the chicken larger plate and I had the sea trout. Both were just as fabulous as the small plates. We finished off with the chocolate cremeux. While the food and wine were great, our server was also attentive and helpful in making selections. Highly recommend!

Amazing service and quality food all around. We were greeted and seated immediately, received thoughtful suggestions and enjoyed every dish. The wine and dessert were also amazing. I cannot recommend them enough!
