Andrea's 25 of Commack Ratings and Reviews
We have dined here frequently and this was our worst experience. They were crowded for a Sunday evening and Matt, the host was apologetic as I have a reservation and we still waited for a table. Upon arriving at the table, we sat there for 20 minutes before Matt came over to take our order and he was surprised we had no bread or water. He ultimately was our waiter. He was running back and forth and unfortunately, never came by until after we were almost finished with our meal to see if we wanted another drink or even anything extra. The food was excellent; however, we skipped desert and had to wait for a check. Finally we asked another waiter to please have someone give us the check. Hopefully this was an isolated incident, but it did leave a bad taste in our mouths-- Will most likely go back, but not for a while.
The food was excellent with some interesting items on the menu. The service was very good as well and they were punctual with our reservation. Our only complaint was the noise level, which was tough to take. We were six people at a round table in the corner and it was very difficult to carry on a conversation.
I would definitely go back , but not on a Saturday night or other peak time. Perhaps a week day evening would be more tolerable.
Three out of four of us liked the dishes we ordered. One of us, who ordered gnocchi said it was just OK, no raves. We were there on a Friday night and the place was really noisy; probably because the bar was full. Overall, a decent dinner. About $160 including tip; about par for most of the restaurants we frequent.
We had the Pollo Picante and Pollo Polementano, both of which were quite good. We ordered both "spicy" and the Polementano was seriously spicy, the way I like it and the way most restaurants are afraid to serve it, though not overpowering. For dessert, the Italian cheesecake was excellent. The wine list prices are about on par with most good restaurants (not inexpensive) but there's definitely something for everyone on the list. Service was friendly and knowledgeable. Noise level was a bit "up there" for a Sunday but there was a party on the opposite side of the room so that's show biz. Will definitely return.
Very busy and excellent Italian restaurant. Don't judge it by its strip mall location. It has a wonderful ambiance and great quality food, drinks and service. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We were seated rather quickly on a Saturday night with a reservation. The only reason that I didn't give it 5 Stars across the board is because it is very noisy and hard to have a conversation. I totally understand though being a busy restaurant on a Saturday night the noise level is to be expected. We will be back.
We eat at this restaurant all the time and this was the first time I didn’t give it 5 stars. I have a feeling it was because it was a Saturday night. No toilet paper or soap in the ladies room. My dinner was cold and brought out in a cold plate. And the noise level was thunderous. Also we ordered a dessert to share and the waiter seemed annoyed when we asked him to cut it for us. He pointed to our butter knife to indicate we could do it but eventually did as we had requested. I will definitely go back but never on a Saturday.
Excellent as always. Politely greeted and served quickly at both the bar and our table. I recommend the chicken scarpiello. Huge portion and delicious. Risotto balls are a must for appetizer. Been here 5-6x and each time I leave exceptionally satisfied. Will be back.
Our first time there. The food was absolutely delicious. I had the sweet potato ravioli and hub had the veal marsala. Both were very delicious and flavorful. The service was very good as well. The restaurant itself could use a face lift but overall I would definitely recommend it for a Saturday date night, birthday or business dinner.
I have to say....Much to my surprise, I was extremely disappointed in my dining experience. I found the prices to be outrageous for the atmosphere and portion size. We were crammed into our table like sardines, which drives me crazy. My food came out so fast and it was not the way I ordered it. The portion was small and it was just ok. Not bad. Not great.
Completely underwhelmed. My mother's desert was not good (tortoni with brown ice cream???) and the milk for our coffee was in a creamer with a dark brown ring inside of it. The manager apologized and took the desert and coffee off of the bill. That was very nice, but I would rather pay for my food and get what I ask for and have it served in clean manner. I won't be back.
