Dinner was delicious. We all had filets and they were cooked perfectly and tender. The salads and sides were exceptional and dessert was outstanding. Our server was really nice but a little to talkative and inquisitive but meant well. The valets were really nice and very friendly. The wines are very expensive by the bottle - somewhat surprised at the 2.5-3x markup over retail....but again the food and service very good!

Beautiful building and surroundings. Very warm and cozy large couches to sit on. Food was expertly prepared. Nice view of the ocean and Catalina Islands.

Great setting, and good service, but the food was not what I expected from such an establishment! It is NOT authentic Italian (though the chef, who is certainly not Italian, tried to get creative with the menu, it did not work). We travel to Italy regularly; I am a professor of Italian and I was very disappointed with the food. We ended up paying $200 for lunch for 2 adults and a child (which would have been ok if the food had been good). Even the $15 Bellini was mediocre and did not taste as it should have!

I would recommend Andrea to others. However, I would suggest they do not use any promotions from Groupon or Restaurant Week. It is not a good value. I would have been more satisfied with the standard menu versus the fixed menu. I was not impressed with the fixed menu nor was I expecting to order from a fixed menu. I would definitely not do that again.

Absolutely stunning dining experience. Thank you Chef Chis Simons. The Iberian Peninsula pork loin with artichoke was amazing. The salmon was so flavorful. The Crudo Menu and Champagne a perfect started. The end was equally brilliant - the Tiramisu with French press coffee. Our server Jay and assist server Debbie were the best. Five Stars all the way!!!!!

The drinks were great. The service was amazing. Our server was very friendly and was able to easily make suggestions on the menu. She was able to get me both a steak and pasta. The pasta was absolutely amazing. They have this pasta that they age for 24 months and I wanted to try it very badly. But, I also did not want to come across as cheap by ordering just pasta. I have to work on that part and learn to just order whatever I want because the pasta was amazing. The steak on the other hand was almost raw even though I ordered it medium well. Our server suggested that she can have it cooked more for me, but I did not take her up on it. The pasta dish is small. If I go back, I will just order two of the pasta dishes for myself. In fact, I will go back just for the pasta and I hope I wind up with the same server.

Food courses took too long to be served. 45 minutes between appetizer being cleared and main course being served. Suspect this was the kitchen, but don't know for certain.

I'd expect a better service for paying $200/person.
The food tasted amazing but there was too much delay between 1 course & the other,even though we were practically 1 of the few tables at the restaurant. The waiter was also a bit too forward, lacking courtesy by cutting me off constantly when I was ordering. He should've been a bit more patient and observe the high caliber of the venue.

This is my third time dining at Andrea. I Ordered the mushroom Parmesan risotto served table side, the brussel spouts and the prosciutto salad with roasted pieces of artichoke and row. The salad was balanced with flavors of the salty prosciutto, nuts, arugula, red reddish and roasted artichoke hearts. This was by fare the best part of the meal. The mushroom Parmesan rissoto mixed in the large Parmesan wheel of cheese was lacking in flavor and dimension. All I could taste was the salty Parmesan cheese, it was overkill and very one dimensional. It was also served and scooped into a small unattractive stainless steel cooking pan. This was way over hyped and greatly lacking, tasting more like a cheap mix box from the store with an overdose of salty cheese. The charred Brussel sprout were also very one dimensional with a strong sweet flavor. The texture of the sprouts and char was perfect but it was very sweet and under salted. The birthday desert they brought me was terrible and childish with pieces of sugar coated jelly and an orange chocolate truffle. The desert was extremely sugary and cheap in quality. In addition we were seated on the patio overlooking the resort. We experienced a strong stench of cigarette smoke for several minutes and then the couple next to us ordered the most fishy smelling fish I have ever smelled as the very strong fish smell filled the patio area. The table was also wobbly and small and the uncomfortable chairs loudly scraped along the ground every time a person moved on the patio. The patio seating was very cramped with hardly any walking room and the noise level made it difficult to walk.

Food was very good. The service and timing of the food was very poor. We received the salads almost immediately, which was nice. After we finished the salads it took 60 minutes to get the main course. During that time we did not see our server for 45 minutes. Unacceptable for a fine dining restaurant. We will definitely stay at Pelican Hill again, but we will not dine at Andrea.

Food is okay. Service was slow, but the servers were very nice. Steak was not cooked as desired. Menu is dated. More uniqueness and creativity is needed in a menu for this caliber of restaurant. It almost like not expecting much from the food because the ambiance is so spectacular.

We were seated immediately and within moments given menus from our server. He answered questions and offered suggestions in response to questions. He and all of the wait staff were very attentive and helpful.
We each went for the restaurant week specials. My son and husband and I chose the albacore. The serving was large with a pomegranate sauce. The albacore was perfectly sliced but the sauce was a little sweet for 2 of us. The 3rd disagreed and enjoyed it very much.
My son’s GF ordered the soup which looked like minestrone. She said it was delicious.
For the main course 3 of us ordered fillets. We were all pleased. I was very pleased that there was no fat. The other person in our group ordered the ragou. I had a taste and loved it.
None of us ordered dessert though I really wanted to, but I had eaten too much. Next time we go I will not have an appetizer so I can order dessert.
