Andiamo Ristorante Ratings and Reviews
We came here on a recommendation. The food was very good but I think they must have been short staffed. We sat for about 15 minutes before we were offered a cocktail. Service was very slow and the food was very expensive for what you got. My husband had a seafood risotto which was well over $30 and had very little sea food in it.
This was our first time dining at Andiamo, although we had been told how wonderful the food is...I am already looking forward to returning! We were with special friends, and it's always a good thing when a restaurant you suggest proves to be a great experience for all involved. It is quite the drive from where we live, so I'm happy to report we were not disappointed and will be dining at Andiamo again!
We go back to Andiamo a few times a year. This time, the service was noticeably lacking. Our waiter was a low-energy guy who was inattentive. We were not offered a wine list when seated, and had to wait a while to ask for one and for everything else. The food was reliably good, except our burrata appetizer we ordered for the table (along with calamari) was served with one little bruschetta piece. I asked the waiter to bring 3 more pieces of toast (duh), which he did, but it took awhile. This should have been plated differently; the cheese was a generous amount to share with a party of 4, especially with 2 appetizers ordered, but made no sense with one piece of bread to serve it on. Pumpkin ravioli was delicious, as usual...one of my favorites. We asked for Sambuca to end the meal, and were told they no longer offer it. It used to be served complimentary at the end of the meal. Overall, a bit disappointing compared to previous visits, but the bread is probably enough to make us go back. I do think the service level needs improvement. Some training and higher expectations for professionalism are needed to maintain the reputation. We were told the owner is not around much any more, whereas we used to see her regularly seeing to the running of the restaurant and the guests' experience. Maybe she needs to be more present, or find a manager who can elevate the experience to its former level.
My husband and I like to get a few date nights in a month. We had heard of Andiamo from a number of friends, and finally decided to try it. With Italian roots, I've been looking for a delicious authentic Italian restaurants since I moved to the Austin area 5 years ago, and tonight--we certainly found it. From the quiet ambiance to the hard-to-decide menu, everything was fantastic. Their seasonal menu is a a great addition as well. I had the Pumpkin Ravioli, which was filled with flavor, and my husband had the Carbonara, which he thoroughly enjoyed! We decided to take advantage of the fall menu, and come back for items that will (hopefully) be on the menu year round!
This might be our new-found anniversary/splurge restaurant!
We have been going to Andiamo for many years, and it continues to be one of our favorite places to dine in Austin. The menu changes with each season, so there's always something different to try. This is not an American-style Italian place with checked tablecloths and lots of red sauces. Andiamo is fine dining with dishes you will find in Italy. The food is excellent, and the servers are friendly and professional.
We met some friends there for dinner. Dinner was wonderful - perfect sizes - not too much! Break is amazing too. I might recommend a salad before dinner also!
We enjoyed a great quiet evening there with friends. I had the Lucy Johnson pasta, my husband had the veal scallopini which he said was too salty but the others reported their pasta was very good.
We had a wonderful dining experience. The food was amazing, waitstaff was very attentive and helpful. The wine list was excellent. Enjoyed talking with the manager who is from Italy as were others on the staff as well. Made it very authentic. Will definitely keep this restaurant on our list. Excellent. The location is a bit deceiving but the interior is well decorated and provides a pretty nice experience.
Wow Wow Wow!!!! A complete surprise ( in a good way)! Saw this restaurant on Open Table when we were looking to eat out at dinner one evening. The reviews were great and that is exactly what we experienced! Super service, quiet dinner for two, wonderful Italian food that I believe can't be beat. Everything seemed very fresh and our waiter was excellent! Definitely will return and very highly recommended!!!
P.S. don't' let the location in a strip mall deter you! Go on in!
Delicious food! This has been one of my favorite Italian restaurants in Northwest Austin for a long time. I like going during lunch when it seems I have the whole place to myself. I ordered the chicken, calamari, and a yummy glass of wine. The service is extremely fast. At night they can get a little crowded and reservations are usually required. I would have given five stars this time. But I was a little surprised they knew it was my birthday and didn't provide a little cake. It's always a nice gesture especially since I'm a frequent guest. I'm not someone who feels entitled but I was a little surprised.
Restaurant did not have enough menus for the amount of seats. We waited almost 10 minutes to be given food menus and were asked to share one. Took almost 15 minutes before the waiter arrived and we then had to ask for a wine list. They seemed to be understaffed. It was also very warm inside. While the service was lacking the food was great.
We were very pleased with our visit to Andiamo. At first, we were a bit put off because it is located in a strip mall but, once inside, it was cozy and quiet. Even better was the food, which far surpassed our expectations. I had a decadent Lobster Linguini and my wife had a delicious Orecchiette dish. Both were simple, authentic, and very delicious. It's hard to find an Italian restaurant that does homemade, authentic dishes correctly. In addition, the bread before the meal was great and we ordered a bottle of one of the wine specials and it was great. For dessert, we had the Millefoglie (layers of pastry, strawberries, and custard) and it was stunning. I'll give them 4 stars for atmosphere but the food far outweighed the location. Excellent.
It was great to speak Italian with the woman that greeted us. She was very patient with my limited vocabulary. We talked about wines of southern Italy and
She made an excellent recommendation for us. All dishes were artfully prepared and presented. We tried several dishes and they did a nice job when asked to split some of our selections. I felt all dishes were prepared true to the Italian style.
Finally, it is a lot of money for a night out, but I thought well worth the expense.
This was our second visit and the food has always been delish. Our waiter this visit wrote down our order wrong and became defensive and unattentive when we corrected him. The food is so delishous though that we won't let that hold us back from trying again (in hopes of getting an alternative server).
I was disappointed in the service. My friend and I went for a quiet, special evening. The waiter was very slow, short with us and rude. The food was fairly good, but overpriced.
I was hoping that this neighborhood restaurant would become our new favorite, but I'm not likely to go back.
