The omelettes & omelette chef were wonderful. Hot food buffet very good. Fruit was never refilled. Very little variety in cake slices, which were dried out. Service excellent.
The hostess and waiter left nothing to be desired. I ordered the onion soup and but was excellent; a deep beefy soup fill of soft tasty onions topped with sharp cheese and very thin crisp fried onions and thick but soft chewy brown bread and soft smooth creamy butter. A glass of cabernet was my choice to pair with the soup. Next I ordered the Guiness Short Ribs with champ and green beans with thin carrot rounds. The short ribs were beyond my expectation; well done, tender, and flavorful, champs were not to starchy but a little heavy on the sea salt as were the green beans, too much sea salt.
The food is fair... the Lamb Stew hardly ever has any lamb in it (mostly bread, sauce, and potatoes). The service has never been exceptional; the wait staff is pleasant enough, but service is ALWAYS slow.
Awesome experience. I took my grandmother there to celebrate her birthday. I love the brunch here it's very reasonable. The server Kristen was amazing . And the omelette station is great.
Thank You for the review. We will be sure to tell Kristen what a great job she did we look forward to seeing you for Sunday Brunch again in the future
Great food and excellent service. We always enjoy our lunches . The Reuben is incredible!
Carolyn, Thanks for the review we look forward to your visits for lunch. If you like our Reuben don't forget it is $7.99 every Wednesday all day.
The linen napkins have been replaced with paper ones which are a disaster! Return to the linen ones.
Thanks for the review we will look into your concerns about the paper napkins
Food and the selections are very good. Wish more people would try it!
Susie, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are glad the you enjoy our food selections and we look forward to your next visit.
I scheduled a luncheon for family and the service was outstanding, the guys delicious. We were there on a weekday at noon - we were just about the only patrons
Thank you for the great review. We are happy that you enjoyed your luncheon we look forward to seeing you again .
Steak was inedible
Meatloaf was awful
Place was dark and dingy

We made a reservation for 7:30pm on a Monday, my husband’s birthday. I noted in the reservation that it was a birthday celebration and, when asked, provided my seating preference: booth, or high top table. We arrived and the host did not check the registration. We were seated in a corner spot, albeit nice and cozy, it was a standard square table top - not a booth (I saw empty half booths available) or a high top (also available). My husband was already feeling unwell from the car trip and just wanted t sit down so I didn’t make a big deal of it. Also, at no point did the waitress acknowledge the special occasion. I didn’t want free dessert, just a nod to make him feel special. That said - We ordered the Irish nachos with chicken (great!), Guinness fried onion rings (yum!), and Guinness fried Brie with a raspberry sauce on top served with crostinis and greens (OMG!). I ordered a powerhouse sandwich (good, as one might expect for a simple sandwich). Husband ordered Sheppard’s pie and found it to be delightful. He ordered to glasses of Guineas which he says were cold and refreshing. He also had an after dinner drink with coffee and kahlua - I forget the exact name. It was the first one listed. He enjoyed it and the green sprinkles. 4 out of 5 stars from us. We would return.
Thank You for the good review. We are happy that both you and your husband enjoyed your both your meal and the Irish Coffee after the meal. We will make sure to address making sure all personnel at the front door are aware of the reservation notes and that they are passed on to the serving staff. We also like to extend a belated Happy Birthday to your husband.
Our usual wait staff, Kristen, was thoughtful and perfect as usual.
Nice family dinner out
Sunday afternoon away from a holiday is definitely the time to go to the Stil for a quiet family occasion. It was pleasantly quiet. Our server, Brendan (how Irish is that!) was most attentive and competent. The food was delicious as always. We ordered comfort food including meat loaf, cobbler soup (*the best*), and shepherd pie.
Everyone LOVED this choice! Different from restaurants we have been to in the past. Our waitress Sarah was outstanding!! She should get a raise!! A+++
I was looking for a great date night with my wife and we decided that since An Poitin Stil was close to another venue we were headed to that this would make a great stop. We arrived on time, and they did have our reservation available, but the decor was terrible. It feels like a locals dive bar, not a nicer restaurant. The service was okay, but bottled beer is given in the bottle, but without a glass. The food was good. It was an okay experience, but its not a place I am likely to return.
Music was great, food not so much. My friend ordered a grilled chicken breast and fries, chicken was over seasoned with pepper and salt and fries were so salty that she coughed every time she ate one. She asked for mashed potatoes without cabbage instead, was told sure and then the waiter came back and asked if would be ok with a baked potato. She said yes and he brought her a baked potato that was hot on the outside and cold on the inside. We saw a lot of wings being sold, so maybe we would try those next time instead.
Love An Poitin Stil. We come to the area at least once a year for an event at the Fairgrounds. Once I know the dates, I make dinner and brunch reservations as soon as I can. A huge plus is that they serve Irish soda bread at lunch and dinner. I've been to a dozen Irish restaurants in the U.S. and have yet to find one that makes it.
Wow, thank you so much for leaving us such a wonderful review! It truly made our day to recieve such kind words. Your confidence in us is much appreciated and we look forward to serving you again on a future return visit. Take care!
Not sure what to say. We just did not have a good meal here. The Stil's been around for a while, maybe due to lack of options in our neck of the woods and laziness of diners. We went a year or so ago with mild interest preserved. I arrived about 15 minutes after wife and kids. They had ordered the Irish nachos. And at first bite, they were drastically under-cooked potatoes. I mentioned to our aloof young server that they were bad and he seemed very surprised but didn't make a clear offer to remedy situation. It also makes me nervous to send food back to kitchens . The BBQ chicken and House burger were mediocre at best. Indeed, the temperature was spot on with the beef but presentation and all else - just sloppy and unappetizing. We couldn't even eat the soggy, oily - also under-cooked -fries. We had ordered an extra bowl so our boys could share and the server showed up with two whole orders of mac and cheese (which online reads "House made Mac and Cheese" but is clearly Kraft). He mumbled something we were not clear about but what was clear is that we had to pay for both bowls of M&C as well as the uneaten "nachos". We will not return here.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a detailed review after your recent experience here at An Poitin Stil. We're disappointed to hear that your visit with us was anything less than stellar. Please know that we take guest feedback very seriously to make improvements. Our Irish Nachos are typically a guest favorite but we will definitely pass your comments on to the chef. Thank you again for the feedback and we sincerely hope that you'll give us another chance in the future. Take care!
Great service from our usual waitstaff. She remembers what our usual orders are.
We’re so thrilled to hear this! Thanks so much for joining us, and for letting us know how much you enjoyed your time here. We hope that we’ll see you again soon!
Our server was great, on the ball with information and allowing us time to decide. Kept up with drink orders well also. Food was good, I recommend the fried goat cheese salad!!
Thank you for the kind review! We are so so glad to hear that your recent visit was a great one. Please come see us again in the near future! Cheers!
Good place. Decent pub food, good service.
Thank you for the feedback! We appreciate you taking the time to let us know how we're doing and we hope to see you back at The Stil again soon!
They were out of numerous things and the server made awkward excuses. The food wasn’t as good as it has been in the past. Overall just OK.
Thank you for leaving us a review after your recent visit to The Stil. We sincerely apologize that we ran out of some of our more popular menu items. We will definitely look into this further so that it doesn't happen again. We hope that you will stop in and give us another try in the future. Take care!
Very good Irish food selection. Sheppard's pie very tasty
great food. parking was a challenge. Not a quite atmostphere; rowdy, loud, but family friendly
Food was mediocre. It was served cold. The ice tea hardly had any ice in it
The food at the Stil is typically very good, however on this visit I wasn’t as impressed with the Prime Rib which was their Tuesday night special. It was a bit tough and grisselly. Everything else was excellent - it was just a miss on that particular entree.
Food and service was perfect. We stayed after dinner for live band. Our dinner plates were never removed. We weren’t too happy about that. Otherwise, was a good place to eat. Good bat too.
Three drink options from the cocktail menu were not available because they did not have the liquor
Our server was Darlene and she was exceptional. I had the steak special and it did not disappoint. There were two in the party who had the corned beef and cabbage and one felt it could have used a little more spice and the other said that the Dijon mustard that was provided filled that void for him. The private dining area that was provided was beneficial for us and protected the fellow diners from some of our raucous behavior that sometimes occurs when classmates who have known each other for 54 years get together. It was a great experience. Thank you.
Food was good, very cozy restaurant. They were out of brown bread until after I finished my meal.
The family had a great experience at The Stil last weekend. We had extended family visiting and decided to go Irish. Everyone really enjoyed their meals, and loved the decor of the restaurant. They'll definitely be back!
We had a very nice time. Service was great. Food was really good - unique enough to be interesting and delicious. Only comment (which downgraded the review) was it was cold where we were seated - they did change our seats, but the manager might want to be sure everyone in charge knows how to turn on the heaters in all areas :-)
I have been coming to the Stil for years and enjoy the place very much
I had all my sisters and nieces and they had a great time
Specials were good too
Keep up the outstanding service
I love the Stil
Had a great meal! The potato soup was delicious - my husband said the MD crab soup was a little bland. Both enjoyed our sandwich selections - turkey Rachel and chicken bacon Gouda. Our server was a little disorganized but very nice and our order was correct.
Always an excellent brunch experience at the Still. The homemade corned beef hash is excellent and the eggs made to order are too. Great value!
Great food (even compared to recent visits to pubs in Ireland), nice selection of food and drink, good service. Noise control would help.
We've always enjoyed the atmosphere, attentive service, great bread, and diverse menu options.
Also enjoy sitting outside in the warmer weather.
My frirn and I went for lunch on a Tuesday afternoon. The food was delicious and the service good.
First time there. Had always wanted to go. I was not disappointed. Beer was good. Atmosphere was nice. Acoustics were good, you could hear the people at your own table. The food I had was all yummy. The Blarney springrolls were awesome. So was the Reuben flatbread.
Fun for holiday gathering and watching Ravens game! Lots of creative cocktails which were all superb!
