   Ampersand is a staple for me. I love the changes to their menu, but wasn’t too impressed with the new recipe for their mussels. The sauce was so thick and spicy, that it drowned out the taste of the mussels. Beet orange salad is great, and their pizzas are tasty. Unfortunately I seem to pick wines from their nice wine list that are currently unavailable. The service is great and prices are reasonable. All in all a good experience, if you’re willing to be a bit flexible with your choices.

   Food took almost two hours to come and there was no one in the restaurant ffs terrible experience and will not be back

While following up with the team, it appears that some of the members of your group arrived well after the reservation time, and the table decided to wait for the remaining members before ordering. When we checked the ticket times, the order timing was within reason. We understand your group was in a hurry to head to an event which we were notified about after your appetizers.    The food was not good. This restaurant use to be amazing. We live in Calgary and use to come just for this restaurant. Great food, amazing taste and quality, and good price. Now the menu is non existent, our meals were poor especially for the high price. My chicken was the tiniest piece that was way overcooked and dry. Terrible and we will never return. So expensive. What a disappointment. Their charcuterie use to have so many options now only a couple and out of the four meat options did not have one that I wanted for over two weeks. So sad. A the one can of beer on their menu was $16. Like what!?! And the menus we got were not the correct price. Get it together people. Did order a bottle of wine but a $300 bill for that what a joke!!!

   Had the brunchuterie board, and it was a good value for the price. Fed two of us perfectly. The only thing I would have liked would be to have the pulled pork on the board served hot. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Room is nice. Would definitely go back for brunch.

   Nice atmosphere, chic but not pretentious. Liked the menu, which was relatively small but has something for most tastes. Attentive, helpful service.

    Had high hopes for Ampersand based on Google reviews & photos but unfortunately it did not live up to the reviews & photos. Booked a table for 4 on a Wednesday evening at 6:15 for my daughter’s 18th birthday. She is moving to the Whyte Ave area for University so it seemed like it would be a perfect spot to celebrate and familiarize herself with a restaurant in the area. The service was adequate but the menu lacked variety & the food was underwhelming. We had a burger, pasta dish, steak w/salad & a salad. The burger & the pasta was ok but the steak & salad arrived as a salad with sliced steak. It was cooked rare & extremely chewy. The beet & orange salad had bitter oranges & the beets were molded into a round “cake” form that sat on a bed of maybe 20 pieces of arugula. Due to it being a mid week day evening, I didn’t expect it to be overly busy but we were only one of 3 occupied tables in the whole restaurant. Not the best vibe for an 18 year old dinner celebration. I was hoping for somewhere more lively. Not horrible but not worth a return visit for me.
