Le restaurant Amoura, situé au coeur de South San Francisco, a apporté une cuisine méditerranéenne moderne à la Bay Area lorsque ses portes ont ouvert au début de 2015. La famille Shihadeh (propriétaire des établissements School House Grocery, Deli Up Café et Amoura Café dans SFO et Westfield Mall) a fait équipe avec le consultant culinaire David Wilcox pour créer un menu composé de grands classiques ainsi que de plats uniques, tous reflétant l'esprit et les saveurs de la Méditerranée. Avec la cuisine maintenant sous la direction du talentueux Josh Dixon, l'équipe est en train de devenir un joueur puissant dans la Bay Area. La sélection de boissons est mise en valeur par le service de bar complet, le menu unique de cocktails et la vaste carte des vins. We were impressed with everything at Amoura in South San Francisco. Lighting was just right. Not noisy! Service was outstanding. Cocktails were unique - and tailored to our non-sweet tastes. Falafel was the best we have ever had. Excellent hummus and babaganough. Tabouleh was superb! My wife's lamb kebabs were cooked and seasoned perfectly. Very succulent. My lamb shank (which seems to be a popular item at this place) was meat-falling-off-the bone good. Baklava was very good. And the price was surprisingly reasonable. This place is worth a visit!

Appetizer choices are especially good for vegetarians. Most of our party do not eat lamb but the one person who had a stewed lamb dish raved about it. I had the mushroom risotto which was very good. It was well over $500 for a party of 10. Of course, we had quite a few drinks and had a wonderful time.

Amoura is our go to for a nice evening out that won't break the bank. The staff is always friendly and attentive and food delicious. And the cocktails are great too! Make sure to get the carrot and avocado salad!
