Loved the atmosphere and great value and food. The salad needed more dressing on it and we thought we should have been offered bread. The waitress seemed to be new and needed more experience. But overall we really liked it.
We had a lovely time at dinner. My son and I were in Richmond for just one night for a special exhibit at the Virginia Museum. Our waitress was so great and I loved the owner coming over and specifically recommending the perfect wines to go along with my meal. I even ordered a second dessert of the chocolate creme brulee because it was that good!!
Excellent French cuisine and very professional service. Branzino and flounder both perfectly prepared.
Dinner at Amour is always a great experience. Much of the joy comes with the owner Paul who is always happy to pair wines with your food and will then give a wonderful description of the wine and why it was chosen. Our favorite.
Another wonderful evening and meal at Amour Wine Bistro. The preparation and presentation of our cheese & charcuterie platter was beautiful and the other courses were deliciously and perfectly prepared and served in a manner that respects not only the patron, but also enhances the experience of enjoying the meal, not simply eating. Waitstaff was terrific and the wine pairings were spot on. A place we will return to again and again. Highly recommend.
We found Amour Wine Bistro on Open Table arena were delighted with our visit. The food was delicious, the service great and the ambience was fantastic! It was as though we had stumbled upon a little Bistro in Paris. I would highly recommend it.
We shared the foie gras. It was so tasty. My lamb chops were perfectly done and the potatoes were too. The ratatouille was fantastic. My husband had the duck breast, which was yummy. All in all a great dining experience.
This was my husband's birthday week! As Amour is closed on Mondays, his very birth day, we extended the celebration! This is one of his favorite restaurants and harkens back to a previous favorite French restaurant! The food is quiet good and the menu stable. The space is small and the tables very close together generally which makes it cozy. We note many couples on their first date. Amour Bistro also seems perfect for that occasion!
Paul and his staff at Amour Wine Bistro are the best at preparing great classic French dishes with the freshest ingredients and pairing them with amazing French wines.
The owner was very accommodating. He showed me the easy way to extract a snail from an escargot shell. The canard de la plum sauce was to die for.Great wine selection.
Have always loved the food and the service. I feel it is a great overlooked restaurant in Richmond. Love the wine pairings.
Had a wonderful Mother's day brunch! Food was excellent.
Excellent service, wonderful food, friendly owner. All-around excellent
The perfect place for an anniversary date
The ambience is perfect the wine is perfect the food it's perfect
Excellent, authentic French cuisine. Outstanding wines paired appropriately with each course. Genuine French bistro vibe. Highly recommend for French cuisine foodies.
This is a small, calm, space with tables close together. We were there for Saturday Night dinner and noted that it's important to have a reservation. The menu is varied, traditional French bistro dishes is well prepared and presented; service is prompt and courteous. Interesting to note on two recent visits, couples of their first meeting date were at the adjacent table. L'Amour is a perfect first date place.
Salad and cheese/meat plate were excellent. Main dish was mediocre.
The food was not good. We ordered the duck confit and it came out dry and very salty. We also ordered the side sweetbread for an extra $7 and that was very disappointing. It was tiny bits of sweetbreads served in a tiny bowl - a very poor excuse for sweetbread. The owner was there and was very nice, but the food was not good. The restaurant looks very cute and inviting from the street that is why we have been wanting to try it and was very disappointing, especially when we a trip from Williamsburg for dinner.
good french style food and atmosphere. Owner and staff are very attentative, knowledgeable and friendly. Restaurant is mostly quiet and good for a get together without too much hustle and bustle. The wines are of very good quality and way above the average. The food is thoughtfully prepared, tasty and authentic. The only point of critic: Some of the dishes turn out the be a bit small compared to the price. Here the restaurant should overthink its concept. If somebody pays a fair amount of money and leaves hungry - they might not want to come back despite the fact, that everything else is just very fine!
service good, kitchen slow, snails excellent, sweet breads good, duck so much salt you could hardly eat it, potatoes so much salt you couldn't eat them
We enjoyed every aspect of our meal at Amour. We dined prior to the Symphony and had wonderful meals. Even our seven-year old loved his dinner. Amour is unsuspecting in that it is casual but intimate, the service is great and the menu has a lot to offer. Authentic French dining in a cozy atmosphere. It is nice to be able to hear each other.
