Amen Street Fish & Raw Bar opened in 2009, reviving the former Amen name of Cumberland Street and restoring this historic corner. The new renovation stays true to the beauty of the original 1800's architecture while creating a comfortable atmosphere for contemporary life.

Located at 205 East Bay Street in the heart of the historic district this Charleston seafood restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor dining all within walking distance of the local Market and the Charleston Harbor.

The menu includes a variety of seafood dishes such as oysters, clams and shrimp in addition to an ever growing raw bar menu. Amen Street supports Charleston's local fishing industry with market fresh fish.

We are open for lunch and dinner. Walk-ins are welcome and reservations are accepted as well.

The restaurant has a beautiful ambiance, and I love the oyster shell chandeliers. The restaurant is quite large. I asked the bartender which was beter the scallops and risotto or the Bouillabaisse. The grits are very good and the scallops are fabulous. I ordered the Bouillabaisse and it was a bit smoky and unusal. I order Bouillabaisse where I find it. Their oyster selection is very good.

Everything was delicious and our server was attentive. It was so loud that we were shouting at one another. (Table of 4 sat in the middle of the room). For that reason alone, we would likely not return.

We’ve been here several times, but this time it really missed the mark. We made reservations for a special birthday dinner which wasn’t acknowledge by hostess or server despite the fact that we noted it in our Open Table reservation. We sat at the bar on a moderately busy Sunday night while they readied a booth. It took over an hour because they had several parties camping out due to the weather. One particular table appeared to be very overserved as we witnessed them stumbling out after drinking for nearly two hours after they finished dinner. We chose a Caesar salad and Spicy Shrimp - both were so-so. The Caesar salad had boxed croutons, which seems like a cheat in a foodie town. Our server seemed very inexperienced, putting our plates down and bellowing, “Well, that doesn’t look too awful, does it?!” (We heard her say that at several tables so I guess that’s her thing?) The high point was our hour long wait at the bar with our lovely bartender Brandon. Sweet, accommodating, and hospitable. Maybe that’s it – the rest of the place lacked hospitality or charm. I hope it comes back soon to Amen Street.
