We come from out of town to Charleston different times each year. We always eat here bc everything is great from service to food!
We loved the mussels and hushpuppies appetizer. The crab cakes were gooey and extremely fishy and the potatoes in my kale side were hard. The service was great, though. We had an awesome waitress. The manager took the crab cakes entree off my ticket and replaced with the scallops, but sadly they weren’t up to par either and we’re not cooked well.
Their calamari is the best in town. I also loved the she crab soup.
Service was great. Our waitress gave great recommendations. I was very happy with my cocktail- the Tropic like it’s hot! We got the shrimp corn dogs as an appetizer, and we were very skeptical but they were delicious. The ketchup and mustard was made in house and tasted great. We were disappointed with the crab cakes. They were very expensive for the amount of food you get. You only get two crabcakes and a salad for the price they charge, and the crabcakes are only about 2 1/2 to 3 inches in diameter. The shrimp and grits it’s something my husband and I would highly recommend. It has been one of our favorite things we have eaten since being in Charleston.
Attentive service, great food, nice atmosphere. Highly recommend.
We visited Amen Street for Restaurant Week. The physical space is lovely and inviting. The food and cocktails were delicious. Our server was friendly and efficient. We will be back!
Food was amazing, the waitress was pleasant and they adhered to Covid rules
Quaint seafood restaurant. Service could have been better but definitely wasn’t bad. Prices are fair. Dessert was not very good. Would love to go back on a less busy night. Overall our group enjoyed the meal and experience. It’s worth checking out.
Outstanding food, excellent service and very nice atmosphere. Noise level was a bit much for our liking.
It was just ok. It wasn’t bad. Nothing special. I would go again if someone else wanted to, but I wouldn’t initiate going there.
This is always a great place for lunch!
Delicious food, great service , and wonderful atmosphere! Amen Street has it all. The meals are prepared beautifully and are reasonably priced. The shrimp and risotto was delicious, and 3 in our party ordered the tile fish...prepared different ways, and each one was enjoyed.
Will definitely return to Amen St
We ate during restaurant week, loved that menu but was disappointed to see that these meals are not on the regular menu? At least i didn’t see them, but great salmon & catfish dishes!
Food was incredible! I was there for restaurant week and have already looked at their regular menu and am planning on going back. We had appetizers, entrees, and dessert. It was all delicious....would not change a thing. The water for my after dinner hot tea was also piping hot...believe or not I am used to lukewarm tea water which is a bummer! Can't wait to go back!
We went for restaurant week. We’ve wanted to try this place for years and it seemed like perfect timing. The three course meal was amazing. I would definitely recommend
Good food. Great service.
Amazing oysters with a great variety. Best calamari appetizer I’ve ever had. We never miss it when we visit Charleston.
When we first sat down it took about 15 to 20 minutes before we were greeted and another 10 minutes before we got drinks but our waitress was very nice and the food was phenomenal!
Hands down, the greatest shrimp and grits in town.
Amazing! It was very busy and the bartender was very overwhelmed; however, she was still very attentive! Food was delicious as always. The shrimp cheviche had some heat and was the perfect size for lunch.
Fried Green tomatoes were the bomb and the service was amazing!
Great experience! Wonderful atmosphere, good service, delicious food, and tasty cocktails. Highly recommend!
The oysters were amazing! Loved the decor of the restaurant, although sitting at a table in bar area when we thought a reservation got us in the main are was a bit disappointing. Food and drinks were great and friendly service.
The food was delicious but the cocktails were terrible.
Great lunch and oysters were yummy and fresh. Wine prices (by the glad) were average. Service was above average. Despite a crowd of people waiting, our Open Table reservation was recognized and we were seated at exactly the appointed time.
Great place to eat and enjoy your family
The food was amazing, but we sat at the bar because there is limited seating and service was a little slower. They were awfully busy, and the food was awesome and service was great with how busy they were. I would definitely return again and again.
This was our third trip to Amen...we love all your food especially your she crab soup and of course your oysters. We were thrilled to find out about happy hour. We ate oysters to our hearts content. We had amazing bar tenders...Grace kept our glasses full. One of the best happy hours I have ever been to. Not sure when we will return to Charleston but Amen will always be one of our stops. So glad you are still open and thriving during these difficult days.
Looking for a great meal (specialty is seafood and raw bar)? This is the place. I consider myself an aficionado of soups, especially the seafood variety. The best She Crab soup I have ever had...and I have had a few.
Amen had a wonderful happy hour with yummy oysters, and mussels. Fun atmosphere, excellent bar tender, overall a good time
We had a reservation so we were seated immediately upon arrival. Our server was prompt and courteous. Food was fantastic! We had mussels, tuna tartare, mahi mahi sandwich, tuna tacos, and bloody marys. This will be on our “must visit” list when we travel back to Charleston.
Casey was very attentive. Great meal as always. Premium oysters, Tuna Tartar, Grouper, Shrimp & Risotto. Great cocktails that includes oyster shooters.
Awesome experience! New to the Charleston area and the fresh oysters didn’t disappoint. Tried the fresh striped bass lowcountry style and I must say it was a special experience. Service was excellent and the ambiance was truly fitting. Definitely make a trip here if ya can!
Excellent meal and fantastic service. We were very happy with our experience.
Decent food, but not worth the price. The grits were cold, but the fish was excellent. Loved the ambiance as well! Probably an off day, would try again.
Amazing food, delightful service, cool vibe!
Passing through Charleston on our way to Pawleys Island and we were able to reserve a table by the window for a late lunch here. The service was amazing! I ordered a French martini but the bartender didn't have Chambord so she crafted a special martini for me. The She Crab soup, beet salad and flounder sandwich were so delicious! Will definitely be back.
The happy hour is very good. 5 dollar wine with a few appetizers that were reasonable. The fresh fish catch of the day made low country style was excellent. The restaurant was friendly and clean for Christmas Eve dinner.
Best food downtown! Our favorite place!! Oyster paradise!
As always, amazing food and great service. Very impressed with the safety precautions as well.
