Great service! Great food!
The food was great. The service was even better.
Menu has definitely changed. We miss the fresh fish selection with various options. Now it's more of a quick seafood sandwich and salad place with raw oysters. Hush puppies and shrimp corn dogs stayed on the menu which is good. Recommended if you're looking for shrimp roll.
I would label my experience at Amen as "mediocre. Food was mediocre. Service was mediocre. There are lots of other places in Charleston that have better food & service.
Delicious seafood. Shrimp and Grits was fantastic. Service was right on
A real flavor of Charleston
Definitely one of the tops spots for lunch. Excellent oysters, mussels, crab cakes and the she crab soup is very good, along with good salads and sandwiches. Doesn't seem touristy or overly "in", just a good place to eat. Service was good so we were in and out quickly without being rushed.
Excellent experience, we’d return for more! Shrimp and grits was flavorful and delicious, our server Michael was attentive and knew the menu- very friendly and helpful, key lime pie was the best we’ve had so far in Charleston. Make reservations, it’s a busy place for good reason.
A friend and I had lunch here; I had the fried shrimp and they were delicious and fried just as they should be - light batter - perfect timing! My friend had the beet salad and the crab soup - she loved the soup so much she ordered another! (great flavor on the she crab soup but be advised it is more of a bisque -- not a thick soup). Loved this place and our waiter was great.
Food was good although they were out of a lot of items which seemed very odd for lunch. Our waitress was very good and helpful although the place kind of had an odd vibe hostess didn’t really say anything to us and it took awhile before one of the waiters could find her so we could be seated. Again, very odd.
Best food in Charleston!!
Service was wonderful
Love love love love
Great service, delicious food, overall wonderful experience
A Charleston must. Food excellent. Ambiance is great. Casual Chicago like exposed brick interior.
Great seafood! Highly recommend!
Food was delicious, service was good, and ambiance is unique and happy!
Service was very slow. Food was average. There are Better places to eat in Charleston
Good food at a reasonable price. Amen has a nice casual atmosphere. Service was good.
The food and the ambiance were outstanding at Amen Street Fish and Raw Bar. I didn’t think anyone could do Shrimp and Grits as well as SNOB across the street - Amen does! My husband had the fried fish platter and said it was excellent. Make sure you get a dish with hush puppies or order as an appetizer - they are delicious.
We love this place and will definitely be back when visiting Charleston. Our waitress was attentive and friendly, unfortunately we didn’t get her name. A great experience from beginning to end.
The food was delicious!! The wait time for the food however was pretty long. I would still go back but probably for lunch and not a date night dinner .
Everything was excellent!
Long wait for food. Plate was hot but not our food. Disappointed
One of our favorite restaurants in the city. Food and service is always outstanding.
Great dinner. We went there because our hotel’s concierge said they have the best Shrimp and Grits. It did not disappoint my husband loved his. Also, I got a Bloody Mary that was one of the best I have ever had. Our server was in training but she was excellent.
Food and service was excellent. But our small table foe two was wobbly and annoying.
Fabulous calamari and blackened mahi-mahi cooked yo perfection! Shrimp corn dogs were great too. Outstanding service
Went for lunch. Wife had Tuna taco’s and I had a Caesar salad & blackened Mahi- Mahi sandwich with fries. Food was excellent. It was very tasty and came to the table hot. Service was fantastic.
Great service and loved the atmosphere! The oysters and mussels were delicious.
Best dinner we had in our short stay in town. Oysters were delicious and the calamari was great! Will return!
Great menu choices and the cocktails were different but very good. Service was friendly , informative and attentive.
This is a great place, we really enjoyed our experience.
Great food, however, glass of wine was more expensive then some cocktails.
Excellent server Danielle!
Food was truly fantastic. Shrimp and grits wow!
Our server was wonderful and the tuna tacos were delicious.
Mussels undercooked and taste old, fried seafood platter oysters 4* shrimp 3* all else 1*, scallops risotto 4* but full if milk and cheese, crab cakes size if sliders . Calamari first class.
Shrimp and grits were excellent! My husband had the tuna tacos. He also enjoyed his meal but stated it was not very filling.
We were very disappointed in our experience. While we understand that sometimes things happen, they ran out of the shrimp roll during a 5:00 reservation, and did not let us know until quite a while after we ordered. In the meantime, someone near us who ordered after us got the last one. Our server was inattentive despite not being busy. The salad that was ordered in place of the shrimp roll was not good. The lettuce was extremely bitter and soggy. While Amen clearly specializes in oysters it is important that those dining on other things also have a great experience.
Amen Street was amazing! I highly recommend this fine restaurant. The food was delicious and the waitstaff (Kenny) was fabulous!
We truly enjoyed our dining experience. Mike is an excellent server. Knowledgeable and attentive. We look forward to our next visit.
we happened to pass by Amen Street one night around dinner time. While they had no tables the very personable hostess recommended that we sit at the bar. What a treat! We were there for happy hour - food and drinks were great! Mussels were superb, as were the Scallops with Risotto ... the food and the experience were so good that we returned two days later for lunch. Also good are the calmari steak strips and shrimp roll.
Waitress was hit and miss, mostly miss, got appetizers quickly but waited 1 hour for entree. Rubber shrimp in shrimp and grits, mediocre crab cakes, no follow for drinks not even water! This is 2nd time but no more and will never recommend
