I love the atmosphere and service of Amen Street. My herb mahi mahi plate was fantastic and my son loved the fried seafood platter. My husband ordered the blackened Mahi Mahi plate and felt it was quite overseasoned, and he typically likes a lot of spice. Would definitely try again and he would just order differently.
Food and service were great! Shrimp and Grits are some of the best in Charleston.
There was a large group sitting next to us that was extremely loud, so it kind of spoiled the experience.
Nice seafood restaurant in historical Charleston. Was seated immediately. Service was excellent. Disappointed in the She-crab soup. Tasty but watery and had very little crabmeat. The shrimp corndogs were awesome!
Great downtown seafood spot. Good raw bar happy hour specials.
Fantastic! Great food! Great service! Michael was great Amen!
It was great in every way
Nice find in downtown Charleston, Oysters were superb and the blackened Mahi Mahi was delicious. Atmosphere reminded me of New Orleans restaurant.
Delicious meal from appetizers to desserts! Great service!
Compared to other seafood restaurants in Charleston I’d rate this as average. The meal was good but the flavor of the fist (grouper) was a little over powered by the other flavors in the dish. Additionally, with this being COVID times they overall did a good job of maintaining the rules however several patrons refused to wear a mask when walking throughout the restaurant and this made my family uncomfortable.
Delicious! We ate here 2 days in a row. I’d return because more on the menu I want to try. Delicious fresh raw oysters. Low country salmon is fantastic. Of course shrimp and grits were delicious too. GreAt service. Clean. Followed Covid-19 requirements.
This is one of my wife's and my hotspots. Quaint little place with a good selection of oysters, and something for everyone on their menu. BUT...the Friday Night Special was Halibut over a Lobster Risotto with a butter caviar sauce. It was absolutely delicious. They need to put this on the menu!!!
A standard favorite of mine. Great for dating and love the menu.
We had a pretty good experience. The cod was delicious and our server was very accommodating.
The service was excellent and our server was extremely knowledgeable. Wonderful dining experience
Always enjoy Amen. One of our favorites in Charleston.
appreciate the attention to detail for keeping the place sanitized
This is our third year coming here on vacation. This is one of our favorite places. The food is awesome!! ❤️❤️
Oysters and the she-crab soup were great. The rest was meh... at best. Salad drenched in dressing way over done. Tuna tartare way to much wasabi and it is mixed in so you cannot avoid it, shrimp corn dogs were OK but overrated. Fried green tomatoes were awful, so bland with zero seasoning...and even the pimento cheese was bland....store bought would have tasted better.
Oysters were great, shrimp and grits outstanding!!!
My son and I went and it was delicious! I had to try the she crab soup - one of the best I’ve had by far! Then I moved on to the shrimp and grits - oh my yummy goodness!!! Really good choice!
The best She Crab Soup. Service is spot on. Can't wait to go back.
Oysters were amazing. Especially the oysters shooters. Their homemade bloody mary mix and hot sauce were the best I have ever tasted. In this covid environment, they did an excellent job making us feel safe while delivering really great service.
Delicious food and friendly staff. I would highly recommend to anyone.
Visiting charleston ! Big fans of PA Paws
When I got to the restaurant a little early, there was no place to accommodate me, so I was asked to come back in 15 minutes. I know that we are living in challenging times, but I didn’t feel very welcomed or that there was any forethought for situations like this when someone arrives a little early. My server was very attentive and nice, and the blackened chicken appetizer that I had was very good. However, I didn’t like the she crab soup at all. I had she-crab soup at another restaurant that I really enjoyed, but Amen’s soup was too watery, heavy on the cream and Sherry, and had very little crab meat in it.
Outstanding dinner experience! The tile fish was awesome and the Shrimp and Grits may be the best I’ve ever eaten!!
Amen Street was phenomenal. We started with calamari. My wife and I get calamari often and this was as good as any we have had. They use meaty strips not rings. We split the she crab soup, also excellent. I had the tilefish prepared low country style. Amazing. Buttery sweet goodness prepared to perfection. My wife had the crab cakes which were equally as good. Highly recommend
Tremendous experience. Food was better than expected. The Shrimp and Grits is the best in Charleston. A++++ culinary adventure!
The food was Great but the service was terrible.
Had to wait almost 15 minutes for my second drink same for my wife. He could not stay on task. Waited for our appetizer for almost 25 minutes and asked him what the wait was and he said they are backed up but he did not put in the order he went back to his machine and put it in it came out after 15 more minutes of waiting.
Again the food and drinks were great.
Oysters, shrimp and grits and salads were very good. She crab soup had NO CRAB.
In fairness when I complained they took it off the bill.
Delicious, everything was great!
Great job with social distancing and safety! Food was great.. especially the oysters. Creamed corn is delicious! Our waitress was amazing, kind and attentive. Will eat here again when we return to Charleston.
Best restaurant in Charleston! Shrimp and grits were fabulous!
Food was good but small portion. She soup way too spice. Service could have more attentive.
Excellent meal all around, great service
