Absolutely exquisite time. Food was delicious, service was great! Went on a food tour and retried several dishes and Amen Surpassed everything we tried hands down! Will go again and suggest to all friends and family that visit area.
Wonderful dining experience. Oysters on half shell were good and salty and fresh! The seared scallops were amazing and the Shrimp & Grits was one of the best I've ever had, bar none!
Excellent! Wonderful dining experience . Definitely recommend . Great seafood
Spent a few days away to recharge and had an awesome meal from start to finish at Amen Street. The service was great and the food, from the raw bar items to the main entree to dessert were all amazing. Absolutely loved our time there and would definitely go back.
Presentation and the overall experience was most enjoyable. Not the first visit and certainly will return.
We had en early lunch & was there before it became too crowded. Fried green tomatoes were very good, fried shrimp was excellent.. the men enjoyed bloody Mary’s & shrimp @ grits was good also. I think it’s a good spot. Good location.
Great food, great service!
Overall, above average. Service very good. Food about average compared to previous visits. Sat near front which was suboptimal.
Calamari app was great. Friend seafood plate and fried green tomatoes were well prepared and not over cooked. Tile fish over pimento grits was a good combination but to me the fish was a little salty. The waiter was fantastic!
Did not feel welcome here. The young gals at the hostess stand were not friendly. Would have ordered more food, but our oysters took forever to receive so we just decided to go elsewhere.
The place seemed mismanaged and hope it was just a bad night.
Sometimes that happens.
Best shrimp and grits ever!
The shrimp dog was wonderful as well as the calamari. Unfortunately, the seafood platter was a little over cooked. Our waitress was beyond perfect!
Michael our server was great, so was the food. The oysters were great, even my 7 yr old daughter eat almost a dozen by herself! Will definitely be back on our next visit to Charleston!
Amen Street Fish... was great. It’s nice and upscale dining, but simple and unpretentious. All of our food was wonderful. The She Crab soup is tasty, the sliced calamari steak was amazing, salads are great, and the filet mignon was so, so tender and tasty. Friendly servers. All good.
We were so excited to try Amen Street since it got such rave reviews on here and on Yelp. We made our reservation and anxiously awaited our dinner.
Right off the bat, the hostess was very short and rude with us. I had reserved for the bar, thinking we could possibly get a table in the bar, not the actual bar. When she directed us to the bar, we asked if we could have a table in the bar and she responded very rudely, “You reserved a table in the bar!”
She then seated us at the bar without menus or silverware, etc.
The bartender/server wasn’t very attentive and not very interested in explaining the menu to us, and he even a little curt when I couldn’t understand what he was saying. We ordered the blackened shrimp and hush puppies appetizers. The blackened shrimp was okay, nothing special. The hush puppies, presented to us by what I believe was a manager, were burnt to a crisp! We went ahead and each tried a bite to be sure they tasted as badly as they looked - which they did! We then explained to the bartender why we were leaving and requested the hush puppies be removed from our bill.
We left and went to another establishment and had to wait to get in, but then had a very god dinner. Amen Street was a huge disappointment.
It was just ok. Oysters were fresh. Fried green tomatoes were not that great. Crab soup was almost all cream no crab.
We decided to seat by the bar, not crowded on a Sunday afternoon, excellent service by the bartender. Nice raw bar, loved the calamari steaks, the fried shrimp, but the tuna tartar wasn’t our favorite, tasteless. Overall very nice place and service.
Pleasant surprise during our visit to Charleston. The restaurant sat us on time, the cocktails were delicious, and the food was so good. Ordered oysters and then ordered more oysters...The fried green tomatoes were delicious, and the crab cakes the best ever. I am still thinking about them. YUMMY! The side salad that accompanied the crab cakes was also delicious and I am attempting to make it at home. The only picky thing I can say was that the restaurant was a bit warm that day but hey the food made up for it.
A vendor in the Market recommended Amen to us. Fortunately, we were able to make a reservation, so my parents and I were able to dine there. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal; from the fried oysters to the chocolate tarte, everything was delicious. It was perfect for our visit to Charleston!
Great she crab soup and fried oysters! Fun place to gather with friends! Would love to go back.
Loved the house oysters and waitress was so friendly!
Service was quick, and food was fabulous! Love their version of shrimp and grits!!
My best friend from college came to visit from Minneapolis, and she only had a few food demands, one of which was the calamari from Amen Street! No surprise, since it’s stupid good. We got great seats at the bar, and Amanda and Kerri took great care of us. Thanks for a great experience!
We had a wonderful lunch. The she crab soup was worth the wait. The oysters were on point. I highly recommend a stop here.
Good location, safe atmosphere, good food options and flavors
Pretty restaurant, diverse menu well prepared
Service was a little slow but it wasn’t our waitresses fault she was working hard. But the food more than made up for it! My husband and I shared a dozen oysters and each had a cup of she crab soup!
The first time I went to Amen was with my daughter 3 years ago. With family visiting from Texas, I decided to take them there. It was a hit. I was thrilled to see the calamari steaks still on the menu. Everyone loved them. We'll be back.
We went for oysters, but had mussels and shrimp and grits instead. (Mussels not on the menu but made on request). Hush puppies and blackened shrimp appetizers made me forget I also went for she crab soup. Food and service were excellent. We dined outside which was very pleasant on this particular evening. Great place and highly recommended.
Quality and taste of food is unmatched in Charleston!
Shrimp and grits are the best in Charleston. Good coronavirus defense.
Great food, super atmosphere!!
Really enjoyed the experience. Great location and service. Somewhat limited menu but good choices.
Amazing food and service. Highly recommend the catch of the day Lowcountry style. Appreciate the a Covid-19 restrictions.
Awesome atmosphere and ambience. Caesar Salad and the Raw Bar Platter were excellent, the Shrimp Ceviche was a little disappointing though.
Our server Danielle was terrific. Service awesome and with a smile and a great personality.
The food and service are always excellent. We go back every year when we go to Charleston.
The She Crab Soup is fantastic! Rich but worth it! I also enjoyed that they feature fresh fish daily in different preparations. Finally, the fries are a “must”. They cut them fresh and then do an in house batter to add a unique flavoring!
