   No Clams No Grouper. Calamari was bland and very oily. Ran out of wine glasses. Service was slow and had to take out main dishes to go because the mosquitos were so bad we were getting bit everywhere! The to go boxes were so small that our food leaked everywhere. Not the fine dining experience we were looking for at all.

   First time dining at Amelias. Tables close together, loud. 2 large parties of 12 I think overwhelmed them. Service just “off”, things not brought out in timely fashion. I received food before my date. Food was good, had a chicken dish. Date had lobster ravioli which tasted like it was purchased at grocery store, where was the lobster. The sauce however made up for it fortunately, a creamy marina. Manager did come over and apologize and sent us home with tiramisu, which was excellent. Shared issues with not enough servers and issues is kitchen. Wont be going back for a while.

   Amelia’s always provides excellent service & deliciously hot food. Don’t let the outside appearance dissuade you. The restaurant is not a fancy place but has a cozy and relaxing atmosphere.

   Great food. Staff was well mannered and attentive. Only drawback was the out dated decor, messy bar area with boxes scattered across the bar, and under maintained bathroom which badly needed to be properly cleaned. I’d say you really only go to this place for the food, not for the experience.

   The service was great. She made sure to check in with us at a good rate. When it came to the food I thought there could be a tad bit more seasoning but the portions of everything was HUGE. Great place to go for a special occasion.

   Dylan our server was incredibly nice and efficient. We liked the non-rushed style. The only complaint is the ceiling fans made it just a little cold outside, but I'm certain they would have turned them off if we had asked.

    OK restaurant. Nice overall atmosphere. Mixed drink was not made properly. Food was so salty, we almost had to send it back. Unlikely to return. Server was nice and friendly.

    The food was somewhat decent, but not good enough for the prices. I lived in Italy for 7 years and this was definitely not genuine Italian cooking. Food wasn’t bad, but not worth the price.

    Such a wonderful atmosphere and AMAZING food. The entrees come with salad, bread, and a side of penne so it’s a great value for all that delicious food. I went here on Valentine’s day and they made it so romantic and special and even fulfilled a silly request I had made. The staff was great and I will definitely be coming here again.

    Underwhelmed. Heard good things about this restaurant from other UF parents. No entrance. Walked right in upon guests eating. Felt like I was disturbing them. Food was so so. I ordered the salmon special and it was very oily. My husband’s Alfredo although very creamy was over salted and could not be finished. My daughter’s linguine and clams was okay. Clams were good but pasta was not incorporated into the flavor of the dish. Did not care for having butter in wrappers. Entrees brought to table before first course dishes were cleared. Waiter waited for me to move my dirty dishes out of the way. Really dislike that! Then reached over the entire table to serve my husband’s dish. Door to bathrooms very dirty. I could go on. Let’s just say it was not what I expected.

    I came here with my boyfriend to celebrate our anniversary, and the service and food was wonderful. I had the stuffed mushrooms and salmon andaluccia and it was delicious. The ambience and noise level made us feel pretty cozy as well. All the staff was very welcoming and willing to help. I would definitely eat here again!

    I was very unhappy with the food. Very bland and poorly seasoned. Over priced for the quality of the meal. Seriver was very kind and attentive, however when I made the reservation I checked for a birthday and was never asked. Bar was out of many drinks and selection was minimal.

    Our server, Lupine was the highlight of the experience. Service like that is few and far between. We were celebrating our 26th anniversary as a male couple and we felt incredibly welcome and at ease. (Not always the case) The food was marvelous. At first we both ordered the steak and was disappointed that only one was left but luckily we chose the lobster ravioli which gave us the opportunity the share both. So glad for that. Thank you for a lovely evening. We will be back.

    The Surf and Turf entree was excellent and was easily shared by my wife and I with a little steak leftover. The almond ice cream and Amaretto was a delight and also easily shared.

    We have been going to Amelias for 15 years. It is our favorite special occasion (sometimes any day of the week is a special occasion) restaurant and the food and service have always been wonderful. We miss chef Andy but are glad that he lives on as very little has changed.

    I am not a 5-star guy but most people would give them 5 stars. Best Italian food in Gainesville. All 6 of us really enjoyed out meals. Highly recommend.

    Amelia's is in desperate need of some ambiance! The bright lights and vintage decorations need some work. Not terribly inviting. Food was decent, service was slow. Probably wouldn't go back.
