Great atmosphere. Service was fast and efficient. Waiters knew their stuff inside out. After the meal, the chef came outside to ask how everything was. Perfect for a nice family event or a romantic dinner with great food.
Excellent meal, service and conversation with chef/owner.
A gem! The best Italian food in Gainesville FL! A go-to for Date Night, special occassions and dinner with friends. Always great food and service.
Chef Andy is excellent compare his food to Rao,s I’ll malinoJust a great food experience would recommend to everyone John Rouba
We have been dining at Amelia's for several years. Every entree we have tasted over the years has been delicious. The service is always great and the food is always served hot and quickly. We are treated like family when we dine there.
Nice quiet restaurant with great food and service. Parking was a bit confusing. Now that we figured that out I’m sure we’ll be going back the next time we visit our kids at UF.
Wonderful restaurant. The best homemade Italian in town. Skip all the faux Italian chain restaurants and find this little gem downtown.
This was our first time there, and we will definitely be back. This was some of the best Italian food we have ever had. The veal was outstanding. Worth every penny. Can't wait to go back!
Never disappointed here. Personal service with a smile, excellent food that is fresh and made on site. Specials that are always on point with consistent menu items to count on as your favorites like the Veal Scaloppini Zingera. So yummy and will satisfy your pallet and your tummy.
Everything is delicious!! The food is so yummy! It is my favorite place in the town
Nothing special. Food was borderline terrible. The service was great but I wouldn't go back.
Really authentic quality Italian Cuisine with friendly professional service. A must for visitors to and residents of Gainesville.
Always amazing food. My favorite place in Gainesville.
Delicious food and excellent staff. Can’t wait to return!
Excellent quality, great service, food was tasty, server knowledgeable, highly recommend you try this out
We have not been to Amelia’s in several years. We were delighted to find excellent food and nice but quirky service. The Portabella mushroom appetizer and the grouper are in an egg batter with tomato sauce over spinach was simply outstanding and generous in size. The wine choices cover a wide range of tastes and price points. The chef came out several times to talk to customers, always a nice touch. We highly recommend a dinner here.
Amelia’s is our favorite restaurant. Excellent food and service. Andy is an amazing chef who personally comes out to greet his guests and make them feel welcome. Staff are friendly and accommodating. It’s the best!
Amelia's is our FAVORITE anniversary restaurant. We had the lobster ravioli, and it was delicious. Compliments to the chef! We were greeted and presented with celebratory glasses of prosecco (wonderful touch!)
It was a wonderful evening. We will be back for sure!
It was great
Great menu and wonderful service. Appetizers were ok -- I had the fried calamari and my husband had the prosciutto and melon, but our entrees were fabulous! I had a salmon special and my husband the grouper special. Yum! Cesar salad and house salad were both excellent as well. Go hungry because the portions are generous! Would definitely go back.
Wine i thought was overpriced. Bread, caesar dressing, portabello mushrooms, side dishes were exceptional. NY strip steak was very tender, great quality but was undercooked.
Wonderful dinner, attentive waiter, great place to dine in Gainesville. We will be back!
This was our 3rd visit. Everything thing was consistently Excellent. Not always a given at Florida Restaurants. The appetizers were enjoyed by all. Our friends were impressed with the selection on the menu along with the specials. We were there to celebrate our friends 75th Birthday. She was thrilled when the desserts were brought out and Her's had a candle in it along with Chef Andy playing Happy Birthday on his Saxophone!! A perfect evening!!!
We'll be back!!
Nice location for dinner and special occasions. We went during the dinner rush, so it gets a little loud. I recommend going during off-peak hours for the best ambiance. Other than that, a very romantic evening.
Food was delicious; the chef came out to say hello and ask about how we liked the food. Delightful place.
It was my wife's birthday, and the food was wonderful— authentic Italian. At the end of the meal, Owner and Chef, Andy, came out a played Happy Birthday for my wife on his saxophone! The place has a sophisticated, yet casual feel to it. The wait staff is very professional and friendly. We love this place for special meals.
Dinner was superb, the service was flawless, one of the best meals I have enjoyed in quite some time.
Celebrated our 47th anniversary, cozy, quiet, romantic. Service was excellent, food was awesome. Highly recommend. Thank you for a wonderful evening.
The restaurant is inviting, nice ambiance, quiet enough to talk to table. We were able to visit leisurely, service was excellent and the server was attentive. One of our party ordered an entree with olives by mistake, they hate olives. The server was really accommodating, provided another more suitable entree within 5 minutes. It was a birthday celebration, the owner came by with a sax, played happy birthday, very nice! Really good service, food, value.... I highly recommend!
Consistently excellent. Doubled with another couple. We were all impressed with the food. Excellent wait staff. Chef and owner makes the rounds and talks to you about the experience which is a nice touch. Location and decor is dated and you are close to other patrons but once food comes you don’t care.
The food and service was outstanding. It's a little hard to find, but worth the effort.
Parking is a pain, especially for the handicapped. No easy access for someone with limited ambulation. However food and service were excellent. Owner and chef very welcoming and involved to make sure we were happy throughout, which we were. Recommend dining on a week night in order to ensure parking availability.
Chef Andy is awesome. Can't wait to go back. Thank you
Another outstanding meal at Amelia's. Andy put some excellent dishes on the table. Lobster ravioli in a soft marinara sauce, a beautiful grouper dish and of course the fine appetizers of calamari and the portabello mushrooms. Notable also was the wine list with fine wines at very reasonable prices: the best value wine list in Gainesville.
It was my birthday and chose Amelias for dinner. The meal was superb! We both ordered fish diners and both were prepared perfectly. Our server Jessica was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. The ambiance was lovely and romantic. Could not gave had a better experience!
Amelia's has an extensive menu, delicious food, and great service. We dine there every time we are in Gainesville. Located directly behind the Hippodrome Theater, Amelia's is within walking distance from the theater and you don't have to move your car. Andy, the owner/chef, always comes out of the kitchen to greet his guests and will play the saxophone for special occasions.
The food and service was excellent. I would like a wider variety of wines by the glass. That is my only recommendation. I arrived early and had the restaurant to myself. The amount of attention I received was perfect.
I would recommend this restaurant for a special occasion or an outing with a loved one or friends. The atmosphere is comfortable situated in an area that is rather quaint.
