This place has a lot of wonderful reviews. We went based on those reviews. The food was really terrific.
I felt our waitress was extremely inexperienced in the food and ways of this restaurant. The tables are very tight. Drinks took 30 minutes to get to our table, three away from the bar. Our reservation was at 7 pm and dinner got to our table at 8:30 pm. There is only one restroom so there is a line into the restaurant, in front of diners, waiting for a single stall.
I think there is room for improvement relative to service and ambiance.
Outstanding. Great service. Great atmosphere. Great food.
I wanted a low country shrimp boil! If you are looking for a traditional boil, this is NOT the place. But if looking for an upscale, modernized version, you will not be disappointed. Food was good, service was really good! Overall, not what I expected but would definitely recommend!
Service was great.
Peas and carrot dish best ever!
Great food, great window seat for people watching. Loved the pumpkin adult beverage
Absolute perfection, our favorite dining experience of our week in Savannah. Service was friendly and attentive, cocktails were excellent, and every dish was divine. It was a very comfortable place to enjoy our meal and drinks. Great atmosphere and we enjoyed the background music, stellar jazz and lounge covers of great songs from the last few decades. We sat at the window, and despite the busy street and open door, noise levels were fine.
This is the type of place that becomes a tradition. We look forward to visiting Savannah again and returning to a.Lure
The menu can be much improved. The mussels and the sea scallops were good but it didn't have that Wow factor that makes me to come back. Both bar and dinner service were very good
Best shrimp and grits I’ve ever had.
Great food and service. It was a bit on the loud side, but not unbearable. 10/10.
We have a list of Savannah restaurants to try. Alure had an opening earlier so we took it. The food was just ok. It seemed that the chef was attempting to use a lot of fall flavors. A lot of our food tasted like cinnamon of maybe pumpkin. The special snapper has an excellent presentation but again the spices on the outside were not of our liking. The fish under the outside was bland. The sides were on the same plate so the outside of the fish mixed the flavors with the cinnamon.
The white sauce used was just average. The duck was tough although cooked med rare. The stark was the best item but it was seasoned or marinated with a different marinade that made it average.
The service was good. The server was sweet, accommodating, and funny. I just wish the food was better. We spent 300 dollars for dinner. The food should have been a lot better.
Hi Tim! I am sorry you didn't enjoy the Whole Fish of the day! We do change it daily and I apologize you didn't enjoy this particular set up. I am happy to hear that you enjoyed your server. We do hope you give us another try. Have a lovely week. Mary
very good food. waitress was new but lovely - and tried very hard to make us happy. steak came out well done instead of medium rare, but his was rectified very quickly and without question - drinks were superb - everyone was great. will definitely go back again.
The food was absolutely delicious & our waitress Olivia was The Best.
Not the level of service or wine selection for this type of restaurant.
My lovely wife truly enjoyed the low country boil, especially the crab cake with OldBay Hollandaise. Very nice vibe in the bar and restaurant. Seating is tight at times, but comfortable and intimate. Our server was professional, reposed and timely. Savannah has a robust dining culture: a.lure is worthy of your time and resources.
Very nice place. The food was quite good (I'd only give 5 stars for truly remarkable). My wife's meatloaf was unusual -- mostly ground filet, with foie gras in the middle which mostly melted into the meat. My smoked duck breast was medium rare, not all that smoky but quite good. For first courses, deviled eggs were outstanding, blueberry salad a bit sparse and most of the flavor in the dressing. Service was attentive exactly when that was appropriate, pleasantly spaced, just right. Only strange thing was that they kept removing wine glasses, and then giving us new ones: apparently they have recently changed the way they serve wines by the glass, and the staff haven't all gotten quite up to speed. Overall, a very pleasant meal.
“I am full but I cannot stop eating” kind of place. Kudos to the staff for providing complimentary champagne with our dinner for my birthday. Amazing experience.
Our usual go-to when we visit Savannah is The Olde Pink House. Thought we’d try something different, for a change. After reading quite a few very good reviews on Open Table, we thought we’d give this place a chance. What a disappointment! The tomato soup appetizer was not even average. The blueberry salad was good; but, very skimpy on the promised ingredients. The pasta with mustard cream sauce was very bland and almost non-existent. The low country boil was so-so. The best part of that dish was the crab cake. A bit of an unusual accompaniment for a boil; but, quite good. Didn’t care for the choice of “background music.”. It was played extremely loud.
The highlight of our meal was our server. She was extremely knowledgeable. Not only that, she was very personable! We do not intend to return to a’Lure. There are too many other good places to dine in Savannah.
Even though we like to try new places while on vacation, we would definitely not recommend a’Lure!
We had a fabulous experience. Great service, great food
We had a very nice dinner experience. Perfectly cooked food with a very knowledgeable and fun waiter.
We had an amazing anniversary dinner. When the staff learned it was our anniversary, they brought us complimentary champagne, what a nice treat!
Savannah IMO needs more places that do low country cuisine with a contemporary twist, so a.Lure is a welcome addition. Attractive interior, although the dark brick & dark woodwork to a degree contradict the lighter, creative touch in the kitchen. Server was friendly & attentive without being intrusive. Our seafood dishes were attentively prepared, with the seafood pasta & the pan-seared flounder most notable. Varied but not overwhelming wine list. Nice, upscale place.
Quiet easy going place with a knowledge of plating, taste and accompaniments. Our server did not rush us and explained in detail every question. Our crab cakes were amazing and left us wondering was was used as a binder. The special meatloaf which included foie grams and seafood pasta were exceptional. No room for dessert. Will definitely return on our next trip to Savannah.
The shrimp and grits are the best is Savannah. This was our first visit and we will be back. We completely enjoyed the restaurant
Excellent meal from start to finish. Shrimp and Grits were the standout. Service was attentive and our server very knowledgeable about the menu. Wasn’t too busy when we were there on a Tuesday night,so it was quiet, but I could see it becoming lively when more busy. Would definitely dine here again.
Delicious southern food and highly professional. Amazing sgrimps and grits!!!!
Service was great. Filet and scallops were prepared perfectly. Great ambience.
Wonderful as always! Great waitstaff, amazing food! Get the key lime martini it is to die for!!!
Great food, inexperienced wait staff, rude hostess.
Amazing food and atmosphere, but service left a little to be desired.
Our waitress began by telling us it was her first night. We reassured her not to worry- that we would be patient with her. However after an hour of watching all the other tables get served we called over management. Apparently Nadia never put the order in. They scrambled to get us our meal. My red fish arrived covered in flour after I had specifically told Nadia that I am gluten intolerant. I was so hungry I ate it anyway. It was very good but contraindicated for me. Management kept apologizing but they should have been overseeing her if it was her first day. They did take a chunk of money off the bill but you can be sure we will never return.
It was okay, which is okay, but not at that price.
Wife and I and friends ate there. I chose the meatloaf wife had shrimp and grits both were good. The shrimp/grits was excellent. Enjoyed.
Second time there. The menu is unique with lots of good options. Everything I’ve tried there has been fantastic. Not nearly as touristy as a lot of places in the area. Service was friendly with a good tempo. Did not feel rushed to hurry up and leave.
The evening was as lovely as I had hoped. The staff was friendly, attentive and provided excellent service. Food was amazing and the presentation was superb. Thank you for making our evening a memorable one.
The food and service were great! Thanks Joy
Awesome filet mignon meatloaf and scallops/peas & carrots! Very creative menu with original items. Service was very attentive and friendly. Would definitely recommend and go again when in Savanna.
Overall my husband and I really enjoyed this place. We visited on a Sunday night at shortly before 6pm. Not busy when we arrived but began to get busier as we were leaving. We started with the deviled eggs as a starter. There were only three which was odd. You don’t even get two full eggs for your order and we ended up having to split one half. The downfall that kept me from giving them five stars is that my dinner - tomato bisque and Caesar salad - came out a full five minutes before my husbands. Not wanting to eat before him because then we would finish at different times and what’s the point of having dinner together if you don’t actually eat together, my soup was luke warm when I went to eat it. The waitress apologized but honestly they should have offered to give me fresh hot soup once my husbands dish finally came out. The food tasted fantastic and my husband enjoyed his meatloaf and drink.
Friends joined us for a Restaurant Week dinner. Entrees of beef medallions and chicken were quite tasty. One of us had the wine pairing with the three courses. Portions were adequate and surprisingly filling. The Brunswick Stew had the kick of chili. Service was attentive, perhaps because the dining room was not very busy. Our experience surpassed last year when both the food and service were unremarkable. A.Lure is a dependable, smaller, and more serene dining site. Try it.
Very cute and modern place, good food, great service!
