The duck was flavorful, but extremely chewy. Now I know it normally is somewhat, but this was excessively chewy. I presume the fat simply hadn't been rendered fully or properly.
The seafood pasta on the other hand was delicious!
Overall, it's got a nice atmosphere but the hit and miss food preparation makes this a miss in our books. With so many awesome restaurants around there's really no excuse. The staff was very polite, but our waitress (while very sweet) didn't seem to have a good grasp on the menu.
Everything was amazing! I especially recommend the blueberry salad, chicken and dumplings and filet mognon meatloaf.
While this restaurant was recommended by several, we were very disappointed in the service and food. Kitchen ran out of appetizer special by 7:15 pm and the restaurant was not even busy when we arrived at 7. The chicken in the chicken in dumplings was tasty but a very small portion. Also ordered the Peas and Carrots dish with scallops. Scallops were hot but the rest of the plate was lukewarm at best. Service was very slow. Maybe they had an off night but would not recommend. I do give the manager some credit as he removed the Peas and Carrots entree from our bill and treated us to dessert on him.
Service and venue were great but food was very disappointing. I ordered the meatloaf and it was gross. Very dense and tasteless. The green beans and 3 small potato wedges were cold and also tasteless. There were opportunities for the server to turn this experience around as my plate pretty much sat untouched but he didn’t take the initiative.
Added to my list of "must return" restaurants - outstanding!
Excellent restaurant in historic Savannah. Food was very good and nicely plated.
The food was just so so. The service was truly terrible. We asked for a napkin several times and finally got it. I requested my app with no mushrooms but it came with mushrooms.
Food choices were creative and tasty. The seating was a little close but not uncomfortable. Service was great.
Had an ok meal slightly spoilt by the very loud table next to us but obviously not the restaurants fault. The service was very good however.
Out of all of the evening meals we has during our 5 day visit to Savannah, our meal at a. Lure was by far the best overall experience. Dining at a. Lure can best be described as modern low-country. The service was unrushed and friendly. They really know how to pace a meal. They were also very accommodating by allowing a glass of wine to split into 2 half pours. This was so nice as it allowed my wife and I to have wines that best complimented each course. For appetizers I would strongly recommend the fried green tomatoes and the open faced rabbit ravioli. My wife's shrimp and grits was outstanding as was my duck entrée. I would say that one area of improvement for a. Lure is that they need to invest in an espresso machine.
Top notch! Delicious food, attractive surroundings, efficient service.
A wonderful restaurant. Stellar food prepared with great talent. Simple, classic interior. Would be glad to eat there again.
The open face rabbit ravioli was delicious, so was the whole fish. I enjoyed my shrimp and grits but they were a touch to heavy on the cream and cheese. Our server and the manager were great, the made up for the hostess who is rather off putting, borderline rude. Apparently we weren't alone in thinking this, the couple seated next us were very vocal in their displeasure of her treatment of them. Don't think I would return if we return to Savannah.
The entire experience from ease of making a reservation to the meal and service were beyond phenomenal. A deffinite must for anyone in or near Savannah.
Disappointing. Food was okay, not fantastic. I wasn’t very hungry and just wanted a salad, waitress said it was tiny, why is a tiny salad $9.00. Husband had seafood pasta and was disappointed in the seafood. He had fabulous mussels elsewhere the night before, those in the pasta dish couldn’t compare. There are many other restaurants in Savannah where you can get much more exciting food, better portions and atmosphere for less money. Especially disliked the waitress constantly trying to upsell.
Seated immediately with our reservation, great service, creative entree options
When ask if we had been there before and we answered yes. The waiter said that somethings had been changed because they had a new Chef. We should have left then. The last time we were in the place it was packed. The 80 to 90 minutes we were there only a few people showed up (on a Saturday night). I ordered the shrimp boil as I had had before. Spouse ordered the chicken livers , let's just say she was not impressed. When I saw my boil, I was like a kid that had had his Christmas taken away. The potatoes were small, the sausage was cut paper thin and there was NO corn. They poured some no flavor juice into my bowl which completely diluted the "corn creama". The chef is self centered enough that he has had the salt and pepper removed from the tables . To all, I sometimes believe MY food needs a little more seasoning. Please allow me the opinion to do so.
ALure rocks! My husband and I came here during a vacation trip to Savannah. The staff were so warm and friendly, we felt like favored regulars. The food is spectacularly good, especially the sea scallops. I also enjoyed treating myself to a lovely 30-year-old tawny port. It's in our top 5 restaurants ever!
A lovely dinner in every way. Servers were welcoming, friendly, and professional; the food was excellent. We can highly recommend a.Lure!
Service was very good. I ordered the Peas and Carrots. It is a lovely dish. The pea and carrot purees add to the sweetness of the scallops. The risotto was a disappointment as it was solid.
Food was good and inventive. Service was adequate although obviously we were being ignored as they got ready for their first turn. Prices are decent, but just high enough to stop this being a regular spot for most.
Food was just so so and the waiter was so very loud it was not a good experience.
Great food. Cool vibe great n room attentive staff. I asked for a wine recommendation and they brought me 2 samples to try. How nice!
have been here twice before while traveling north for the winter, with very good meals and service and looked forward to dinner. Our waiter was condescending and way too attentive. The appetizer of chicken livers was OK, but very salty. My entree of shrimp and grits with the homemade sausage was tasty, but again, salty, and too rich to consume in any great amount. My husband's shrimp/seafood boil was cold. Must admit that the manager made things better. When we complained about my husband's entree, he took it off the bill. When he saw that we didn't eat much of mine, he did the same. So, ultimately, a disappointing night, although the manager did the right the best he could.
Everything here is fantastic! We were lucky enough to visit twice in one week and ordered different items each visit and was blown away with all. One of our waiters said the Goat Cheese Souffle changed his life. He was right! I would have never guessed that would be such a great dessert. If you have the chance, Go! It's wonderful!
Amazing food and experience. Elena was our waitress and was fantastic. The whole fish was amazing. Great wine recommendations as well!
I recommend the meatloaf 👍🏻👍🏻
Excellent!!!! We loved our experience here, we recently got engaged and they made us feel super special. Good food and great service.
The food is outstanding. The place is small and the tables are a little close together so it was hard not to overhear the conversations around you. Service was very good and the food with a southern flare shouldn’t be missed.
We had a fantastic meal which was surpassed by the incredible service. Curt had great recommendations and new the dishes to the last detail he took good care of us with great humor throughout the evening. Great experience!
The best restaurant on our visit to Savannah. The food was excellent and the service perfect. There were so many things on the menu I wanted to try that we are planning another trip to Savannah so we can dine there again!
Not impressed. At all. The decor was dated. Very dark and gaudy for such a small space. Instead of leaving the door open and letting in every gnat in Savannah they would be better off with a coat of white paint and mirrors to open up the space. The space was clearly catered to the older crowd. The menu was very strangely put together. I can see how they are trying to put a twist on southern classics but I think everyone would appreciate something original, new, and exciting created with local quality ingredients. The flavors were pretty plain. Whoever created the menu clearly loves duck. Nothing that I would return for or couldn’t make myself at home.
Delicious food, beautiful presentation, friendly attentive service, creative cuisine, lovely ambience, I would highly recommend The restaurant manager was very attentive and helpful. I had the “peas and carrots scallops“. They were delicious, cooked perfectly. My husband had a special of the nights with homemade noodles, shrimp, grouper and mushrooms. Delicious! For dessert we shared the crap away which was wonderful!
Wow is the ONLY way to describe our experience. Best upscale place in 12 months. General manager is a true service and food connoser. Best in Savannah. I live in Williamsburg Va
Good food and options from which to choose on the menu. Tables were very close so you could hear the conversations of those around you. Unfortunately our server was very new and could not offer much input on selections for our first visit to a.Lure
Kitchen messed up order
Grouper burnt and dried out
Manager took no interest in resolving problem
Very nice experience in Savannah. Good high end many choices and creative ingredients.
Food was delicious and our server Kyle was fabulous!
Pretty setting and nicely prepared and presented food.
My husband & I ate a delicious meal of shrimp and grits . Not only was the food yummy but our server Rachel was attentive as well as knowledgable about the menu.
