Altiro Latin Fusion - Geneva
Smaller restaurant in a quaint residential are of Geneva.
Tasty small plates and drinks as well.
Staff was very nice.
its expensive for what you get in way of food. A taco with one shrimp is expensive. Very delicious but expensive.
What a great twist on a Spanish tapas & Mexican cuisine. My husband and I had the guacamole trio, which was good but I thought it needed a touch of salt. However the tortilla chips served with it appeared to be made in- house and were very good. The Al Elotito ( Mex corn) was a little strong on the lime but still tasty, The Al Fundido tacos which is a shrimp taco - delicious and the Al Alambro tapas which is not to be missed is a combination of tender skirt steak, chorizo, onions and peppers topped with a melted cheese and served with what I am guessing was an in-house made tortilla. It was perfect. We also had their margaritas which were smooth and of top shelf quality.
The restaurant is small but welcoming with it's décor. Another thing that impressed me was the way all the food was served. It had a very artistic flair in the presentation giving it a feeling of being special. Overall, I would recommend this little gem and plan on going back
Great food. The drinks are craft all the way. Street corn is a must.
The owners, and daughter are awesome... The food is excellent and we always enjoy dining at Altiro!
Food is always amazing and creative!! Cocktails are awesome. A GEM of Geneva!!!
One of the warmest and most friendliest restaurants.
Love this place - this will be our new favorite place to go! Great food, fabulous drinks, service was great also!
The food was very overpriced for the quantity served.
We loved everything about this great little place! The food, service and atmosphere was awesome! We sat outside and it was delightful!
When we arrived, once we were seated inside, we discovered there was no air-conditioning. There were fans, which helped, but it was very warm. Since it was Saturday evening, and because we were not notified ahead of time, we went ahead with our dinner plans. We were disappointed that no-one called to let us know the situation. Once we received our food, we both agreed that it seemed like the tortillas were falling apart very easily, making it a bit difficult to eat. Everything was good, but we have had previous dining experiences at Altiro that were better.
We had an 8 pm reservation and sat on the patio. It was too warm inside as it seemed their a/c wasn’t working. We had cocktails - verde, mojito & margaritas along with tapas - Paella & chicken with pomegranate & cream sauce. Loved the paella! Lovely patio!
Really good tasting food but too little of portions and too expensive.
Never disappoints ......... we keep coming back for more
Uncomfortable seating! They need to upgrade. Otherwise it was OK.
A wonderful dinner in every way. The live guitar entertainer was sooo enjoyable to listen to during our stay.
We love this place!! the cocktails are outstanding and the food scrumptious!! We have been there multiple times and it never disappoints!
Terrific service and great food. And the owner is present and socializes with the patrons which is always a nice touch!
One of our favorite places to go - Friendly and always delicious!
The food was really good. I went in expecting tapas and smaller plates, but not the prices. If you get less food than an entree, you should pay less.
Went on a Saturday night - thank goodness we made a reservation because it was packed and there is no bar area to wait for a table. People were milling around outside waiting - some with drinks in hand. Inside, tables are packed a little tightly - like a downtown restaurant - but there is a nice vibe and we could still have a conversation. Margaritas are inventive excellent. I had the Al Pepino - muddled cucumber, cilantro, lime, jalapeño - strong, tart, savory a touch of sweet for balance. Highly recommend. Wish they had the salsa flight they serve at their sister restaurant Al Chulo in West Chicago, but the guacamole flight was a nice twist. We also had their spinach salad with lots of toasted almonds a lightly dressed, Some phenomenal shrimp tacos, mussels in a chile and tomato-y sauce, and some amazing skirt steak, pepper and cheese served with tortillas and an avocado sauce. We loved those so much we took an order to go for my mom. We’re very excited they are opening a branch walking distance from us in Wheaton. We will be regulars for sure!!!
Great service and the food was so good! The drinks were a bit pricey, otherwise, it was a good value.
The tacos were amazing! So delicious! Very good food in a quaint spot buried in a neighborhood. Parking was easy. Food was delicious. Outdoor seating looked cute if only the weather was warmer.
Upscale Mexican food with great atmoshere.Bien Trucha used to be number one in the area but not anymore. Everything was very tasty, prepared wonderfully and without the feeling of being rushed like Bien Trucha.
Fantastic service and excellent food.
We didn’t get one dish that we ordered. After waiting over 25 minutes, we told the server (who never checked on us during this time and I had to wave her down) to bring the bill. We weren’t given any silverware without waving someone down and asking after 15 minutes of warm food sitting on our table. It was very disappointing from beginning to end including food and service. I will not be going back.
We ate on the patio, and it was very nice, but the weather was a bit chilly for dining al fresco. I should have taken a table indoors. It was offered upon arrival. The service and food were amazing! So delicious! Incredible flavors! Beautiful presentation! This is a neighborhood gem, and we will return. My son and I loved it.
We have dined at Altiro’s before. This experience was disappointing. Food was slow coming, so slow the server brought a complementary appetizer. Food was cold when served. Note: late and cold. Server did little to manage our expectations. Overall an of right for Altiro’s
So delicious! Service was impeccable! Never disappointed
We had great time with friends Saturday night, and shared our food tapas style. Our friends loved it and kept raving over the food. We have been to Altiro several times, and it’s always good!
Margaritas are expensive but wine and beer reasonable.
Food is great!
Waited an hour after our reservation to be seated. There is no waiting area and it was very cold outside so waited between doors. Then were seated at a 2 person table but we had 3 people. The third person was given a chair in the walkway so she was constantly bumped into. Waitress was super kind and did give us a round of drinks on them. Loved the food but the seating needs to be improved.
Very flavorful and freshly prepared food, service too slow even to drop off the check, restaurant so busy and with close-quarters that people were basically staring at us while we ate, hoping to get our table. I recommend it for the outstanding food, but don’t go on a busy Friday or Saturday evening.
Always great service and a great value. We frequent both the Geneva and West Chicago locations.
These are the reasons you should give Altiro Latin Fusion your business.
1. We were seated as soon as we entered.
2. Even though the glasses of wine were Chicago prices, the glass of Sangria was excellent.
3. The service was top notch.
4. The menu offered many small plates to share and they were all excellent.
5. Our party was four people and there were not complaints.
Open a bigger restaurant, it will fill up
This is a great date night place!
Went here on a whim and had a terrific experience!
Our meal was fabulous. Our service was attentive and the food arrived very quickly. The bench seating can be somewhat uncomfortable, perhaps adding cushions would be helpful. I knew that this was an expensive restaurant, both the food and the drinks. But with that said, the quality is excellent so my thinking is that if I can't afford to eat there, I shouldn't go there. I can't afford weekly visits, but I definitely will be back. Thank you for a wonderful meal.
