Alma De Cuba
We have been to this Latin themed restaurant many times in the pastry and have never been disappointed. I noted that they list all staff, including kitchens personnel and waitstaff on the menu. This says something about how they view their employees. This ma be why the service is always good the food consistent.
Excellent, knowledgeable service with careful attention to our dietary restrictions. We enjoyed the complex flavors in all if the dishes and drinks. Both meat and seafood dishes were cooked perfectly. It was our third experience here and it was our favorite meal yet
Amazing as always!!!
Service was excellent. Food was delicious and ambiance was lovely!
Food was very good. Service (unfortunately, I don’t remember our server’s name) was excellent. Would happily go again.
One of Philadelphia's best restaurants especially if you're a fan of Cuban flavors -- which my wife and I are! From the beginning appetizers (especially the dates), through the entrees (I had the tenderest most flavorful ribeye ever), through the desserts (delicious tapioca pudding) -- this dining experience was superb. Good wines to compliment the meal. Our waiter was excellent with a great attitude, full knowledge of the menu, and very attentive. We'll be back!
Beautiful place, food not so much. Appetizers salty, entrees no flavor. Drinks not impressive.
Food was very good and they helped us make our show❤️
Everything was fine, service was nice despite being at least 25 minutes late for our reservation, but there was a mosquito that was fried onto someone in my party’s food and it turned everyone’s appetite off. Overall, everyone was nice and the situation was dealt with.
The drinks were good and the food was great. It was a bit noisy and was difficult to hold a conversation with the person sitting across from you. While the ambiance was nice, it was a little dark. Our server was amazing and she made sure we had everything we needed. Overall, I would make reservations here again.
We were seated and waited 30 minutes before finally asking a member of the wait staff if we could have menus. Then, we had to wait another 10-15 minutes before our waitress took our order-and we had to ask the manager to get her attention. The manager apologized for the delay and offered complimentary appetizers, which was nice. But at the end of the meal, our "complimentary" appetizers appeared on our bill! Again we had to complain and wait for them to correct this. The service was really not great. The food was okay. I will say the chicken entree was really good, but everything else was just okay. I don't think I will be returning.
We had a fantastic dining experience. The food was creatively unique and absolutely delicious. The service was a bit slow, but worth the wait, if you have the time.
I went during restaurant week, so I assume it was busier than normal. The food was great. I got chicken with this really good molé sauce. My wife got salmon and lentils. No complaints
5 stars all the way down, really. I mean is anyone heading to a Starr Restaurant looking for a great value? Surprised there was no vegetarian option for the main course on the Restaurant Week menu, but they accommodated us with a very good substitute. Maybe the best carrot cake I ever had. Great for large groups too. I had to change my reservation for eight 3 times to get everybody there on the same day but we made it!
The food and service were outstanding. The vibe was clubby, chic, and cool although it was a little too dark for my liking (hard to read the menus.)
Went with a friend to Alma De Cuba prior to an evening show, and the experience was overall delightful. I come in with food sensitivities/allergies, and they were fantastic about helping make sure the dining experience was smooth and undramatic. By that, I compare it to dining experiences I've had where the serving staff were unprepared to manage my needs with their menu of the time. Alma De Cuba's staff were fantastic. The only thing I'd cut a little bit is the pudding option on their dessert menu - it was very tasty, and had some great textures (I love textures in food, when they're done right as this was) but it was a bit runny. I'd actually give them 4-1/2 stars if I could. And I'm definitely going back, probably multiple times.
It was my Birthday. This was a nice place.
We loved the happy hour preceding our Restaurant Week dinner. We'll be back.
Nice vibe and decor. The food is wonderful, get the vaca fritta!
Just a long wait for anyone to come to our table with menus and even to take our order. Don’t think they were prepare for restaurant week and the demand. Wish they had more of a selection off their menu to try.
We came back to Alma De Cuba after enjoying a fabulous meal sometime back
This time a little less than fabulous
Pork Chop was on the dry side
Empanadas were on the harder side
The salmon was very very good...
All else was also very very good
Michael did a fantastic job considering he was the only one on the 1st floor at Happy Hour
Place was packed!
Noise was abounding...
We'll be back...this time when I can walk the steps to 2nd floor
Service and ambiance were great. Ordered the chicken and pork chop. The chicken was surprisingly moist but the pork chop was tough. Overall, great experience!
Awesome food. Great service! Absolutely loved it! I will definitely be back
Yes, I already have recommended it to one of my best friends. The food was very tasty and the portions just right. Our waitress was charming and attentive. All in all, the evening was memorable in so many ways.
Great food. Obviously a popular place. Extremely busy. We liked the “nightclub” vibe.
My husband and I went to Alma de Cuba for the first time on Saturday as part of Restaurant Week. We enjoyed mojitos, chopped salad, empanada, spinach side, pork chop, salmon and carrot cake - all were fantastic! The service was super-busy and not chatty, but was still courteous, prompt, and efficient. The restaurant was bustling and a bit loud, but we loved the vibe and fun atmosphere. We will be back!
Haven't been to Alma in about a decade but still it combines an electric Cuban ambience with wonderful food.
Great place a little dark but great service (very attentive without being obtrusive). Great food would go again.
Great service, excellent food, all great!
From hello it was the best experience I have EVER had in a restaurant. Kudos to waitress, staff and management. You guys rock. We will be back with friends.
Drinks are where they get you, very expensive. But by far food wise one of the best meals I’ve ever had!
The dark and stormies were excellent. The service was pitiful.
Great food and service, fantastic server. Great value
We arrived early but were seated all the way up on the 3rd level. AC was very strong (cold) there and it is away from the main scene of the restaurant. Perhaps we said something that offended our server so she wasn't attentive toward the end of our meals. The manager was around but didn't notice we didn't have utensils for dessert either. Small things but shouldn't happen in such expensive restaurant. Food was good though.
The service staff switched midway through dinner. Food was not made with care. Loads of rice to compensate for small entrees
Brought out of town guests for dinner. They were impressed with the food and waitstaff's service. Overall a wining experience! Thanks .. muchas gracias!
Fabulous food, great ambiance, service was excellent, great quality food.
Juliette and Micah were fantastic! Food was incredible.
