It was great!! Food & the Service was outstanding!
Gumbo was good, and so was lamb but didn’t enjoy the shrimp and grits at all. Service was ok but not the best we experienced over the weekend. There also was a large party behind a curtain that was pretty noisy too.
It was a wonderful experience from the beginning all the the way to the end! The staff was extraordinary friendly and helpful. The scenery was gorgeous and so relaxing. Now the food... the food was AMAZING! The rosemary bread that we had was splendid and the Mushroom salad as well. The main meals were on another level. The food presentation truly showed the professionalism in the kitchen and the taste was exquisite. I'd definitely will come back for the whole experience.
Highly recommend! Excellent food and service! It was our first time dining at Alligator Soul and we will definitely be back.
I heard from a friend that this was the best place for dinner in Savannah. Made reservations three weeks in advance. Alligator Soul lives up to its reputation. Quiet sophisticated atmosphere, low light, staff very attentive and friendly. The food was outstanding and creative. The overall experience was wonderful, will go again.
Alligator Soul is one of our favorite restaurants in Savannah. The food is amazing, with much variety for diverse palates. and staff are friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Highly recommend!
Celebrating our anniversary and was disappointed in our service which impacted our overall experience.
Amazing food & service. Highly recommend.
Amazing dinner! Our group tried scallops, duck and steak and they were all delicious. Server was excellent! Very special, memorable evening.
My family and I had an amazing dinner. Everything was cooked perfectly and the service was topnotch.
Highly recommend. Top notch service, elegant atmosphere and delicious food. A great restaurant to celebrate a special occasion.
We had an amazing time at Alligator Soul celebrating our engagement! Delicious, out of this world food that is unique and you can’t get anywhere else! I had their famous Ribeye and it was to die for and my boyfriend had the Nilgai Antelope, which we would definitely recommend getting! It was the specialty meat, but when we talked to one of the waitresses, they have it more often than not! This is definitely a more upscale dinner with high quality meat and seafood! 10/10 would recommend!
The server Jay was very professional and a good sense of humor. The oyster appetizer was a beautiful presentation and full of flavor. My scallops were perfectly cooked and the veggie were so delicious and with the exact flavor of Cajun cooking (my parents both Cajuns and accustomed to the spicy foods). My husband had the swordfish that was I thought mine was the perfect choice until I tried his!!! Winner winner, that swordfish was moist and filled with flavor!! I will be returning soon for my swordfish. 👍🏻👍🏻Smith’s of Atlanta
NYC prices for CT grade food and drinks. Ambiance is far from what I would describe as one of the most elegant and romantic
Excellent food. Excellent service. Cool vibe. A definite place to dine at!
Overall an excellent experience. The ambiance was great. Jazz music played at just the right volume, you could hear it and still hear the people you're seated with. Food and service were on point. The oysters a la soul appetizer was fantastic, should have ordered a dozen instead of 6. Would definitely go back.
Wonderful food, great waiter who gave the best suggestions, and a really good time!
Our meal was delish. I had mahi and hubby had antelope. Both were amazing and service was top notch. The old fashioned was so yummy. Highly recommend.
This was the best restaurant ever and we have been traveling to 9 states! It was the bomb!
Located in the basement, it was a little dark for our preference. The carving board was our favorite part of the night! We did receive a sweet pecan pie tart in recognition of our special event!
Everything that we ordered was exceptional! We started with the cheese board which I thought was a little overpriced but there was a lot of food on it and some unique things so it was fine. I had the swordfish which was cooked just right and was on a bed of parmesan cheese rice with andoule sausage, some veggies, and a little marinara sauce. Very good! My husband had the holbo (?) Steak and said it was excellent. The service was excellent! I would highly recommend.
Food was just ok not spectacular therefore overpriced. Great atmosphere and Muaic. Friendly staff.
Dinner was great. Very accommodating to my allergies. I didn’t feel deprived at all.
This restaurant was highly recommended by fellow foodies. We were so surprised to see that it is located in the basement, but it is designed to just amaze the senses. Alligator shows up in many different ways and the restaurant offers exotic proteins. Antelope which was as tasty and well prepared as I have ever had was the night’s special.
Staff are very well informed and very solicitous of how they manage different diners. It was a pleasure to be with them, and I highly recommend including Alligator Soul among your dining choices when in Savannah.
Great food and service
The duck fries were awesome the steak was ok. The lamb was ok but the veggies with it was mush. The lamb dish was disappointing. The desert was ok. My husband was expecting a better selection of wild game. They had just Venison.
Exceptional dining experience - - our waiter was incredibly informative and attentive. The gini-tini cocktail was sublime. The Little Hilbro was a fine piece of meat. Quite tasty and a lovely dining experience. Beautiful bar too.
First, the service was fantastic. Some of the best I’ve ever had. Our waiter was attentive, knowledgeable and extremely personable. The food was equally as fantastic. We tried multiple appetizers and our main dishes were extraordinary. Given the quality the value was excellent. Couldn’t recommend this restaurant more.
The food and experience was amazing! Our waitress provided great recommendations and she they didn’t disappoint. Definitely try ALL of the appetizers, the lamb and swordfish.
We had an amazing culinary journey with Alligator Soul. My husband gallantly dropped me off and went to park the car. Being from out of town presented somewhat of a challenge. The waiter was very kind and attentive. It was much appreciated And his waiter skills were top tier. I had the mussels and they were absolutely the best I’ve ever eaten, anywhere!! My husband had the special which he described as creative and amazing!
To sum things up, Alligator Soul gets our 5 Stars and is a must when in Savannah!! Great ambience as well! We have family on Skidsway Island and we’ll be back! Thank so much!
Out of towner guests
Excellent wait staff. Food was very disappointing. 4 small small scallops hidden under a mound of vegetables. Don’t mind spending more than $30 for an entree but that was ridiculous.
Celebrated my 40th Birthday and the waiter made it extra special! Food was AMAZING and the atmosphere was nice as well! Highly recommend Alligator Soul!!
The oysters are as good as everyone says they are. House wine was better than expected, I wasn't sure about it but my server brought me two samples and I happily bought a bottle of the one I preferred. Both the lamp chop and the ribeye were perfect.
Food is inventive and delicious. Wait staff informed and engaging. A wonderful experience.
Absolutely incredible, our first meal ever in Savannah and it will be hard to beat!
This was our second visit. The first was 2 years ago when passing through Savannah; this was again a passing through visit and we selected it because our first visit was so wonderful. The ambiance is nice, unless you are seated in the entry area where everyone must pass, as we were this time. Food choices are quite good - we specifically came for the exotic entrees and were disappointed that there was only one available, venison, which for many isn't very exotic. All this would have been acceptable, but our waiter was aloof, didn't listen to our wishes, attempted to served us on his schedule not ours, and otherwise ignored us. As we don't live in the area we will not choose to return. If we did live closer we might try it again.
We were in Savannah for our Anniversary and decided to make a reservation at Alligator Soul. It was an awesome experience. Great food, great wait staff and a very nice atmosphere. I would highly recommend it.
Has a “speakeasy” type feel to the decor. The service was flawless. They worked diligently to cater to some of our dietary restrictions.
Portions were generous. Fresh ingredients, balanced by the local spice influence. Would happily return for more delicious food!
