Waiter was great and all of the food was delicious.
It was great. 30th anniversary.
Our server knew what he was doing and went into really good detail about the food. He helped us with gluten free items to accommodate our needs. We weren’t waiting long for food, drinks, appetizers, etc.. I love the humble atmosphere and how nice everybody was. I can’t wait to go back.
Our waitress was very sweet and knowledgeable of the menu which was super helpful since we were only there for a night! Everything was delicious but the candied alligator and Hilbo were A++!! Would come again and definitely recommend for a nice dinner in Savannah!
Ambiance and service was exceptional. Food was made to order with your allergy and dietary restrictions valued. Food was good, good flavor, temperature, and appearance was appealing. Great place for night out on the town or celebrating.
Loved the food the ambiance and attention to detail
Food was very good. Would have appreciated another fish choice—fresh catch is the only fish(other than shellfish). Ambience is nice—would be better if some minimal dress code was in place. Some diners looked like they came directly from the beach
The food was excellent. My husband chose to be daring with his food choice, where I played it safer. We were both very pleased.
The food was beyond amazing. The shrimp and grits was creamy with just the perfect amount of spice. Our server was very happy to accommodate our son’s dairy allergy, and I am grateful for that. I would return any time!
Loved our experience at Alligator Soul! The service was just as incredible as the food.
Impeccable service and absolutely delicious food. Wholeheartedly recommend.
My husband and I dined here on our last trip
to Savannah. We waited nearly 25 minutes for water and initial visit from out server. He launched into a lengthy summary about the wine and spirits menus, reading each page. Then he delivered the focaccia, after we were nearly done with our appetizer course. Main course was under seasoned. Finally, I feel the need to mention that rather than standing and talking he hovered into our table to talk. How can anyone forget social distancing? Hospitality has gone downhill. They’ll barely miss out business; we won’t be back.
Service and food was excellent. Will definitely dine here again
It’s number one for a reason! Best she scallops I have ever had! The ambiance was great! Played music small and quiet. They actually have alligator dishes. I also had a cup of shrimp and grits..very good.
Service was impeccable, mussels were delicious, and gumbo was spot on.
We really enjoyed this restaurant during our trip to Savannah. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was intimate. I highly recommend Alligator Soul.
Overall I was underwhelmed with this experience. My server did not seem that knowledgeable of the menu, helpful with making recommendations, or that friendly. My cocktail the Etta James was fantastic probably the best part of the whole dining experience. I had the roasted mushroom salad as an appetizer which was really flavorful and well prepared. As an entree, I had the exotic specialty of antelope loin which was tougher than I prefer though cooked and seasoned really well.
Food was amazing and Hannah was an excellent server. We had an amazing evening! Will definitely be returning next time we are in the area.
My husband and I had a wonderful experience here. I am vegan but he is an omnivore, and we often struggle to find a restaurant that is enjoyable for both of us. Our server Hannah was very attentive, and asked right away if we had any dietary preferences or needs. When I informed her I am vegan, she discussed the vegan entree option and also helped us figure out a vegan dessert option we could share. The ambience was upscale but relaxed. We will definitely return here when we visit Savannah again.
Everything we ordered was delicious. Great dining experience. We sat at the bar and got great service from the bar staff.
Everything was just fine. There were a few things that needed adjustment. Although the steak was excellent it was a bit too salty. The cup of shrimp and grits was very tasty. But 2 shrimps to a cup of grits was not balanced. The banana beignets were not beignets but fried bananas. Excellent anyway. The preparation of all courses were delicious and well worth the visit.
Excellent food and service. Loud group came in and sat behind us, they were super obnoxious and without them it would have been so much better.
Crazy good food. Order the shrimp and grits. Seriously. Don’t even look at the menu.
For those that need to eat gluten free, put down the stress and enjoy a fantastic meal. Several options, the chef is very knowledgeable and they know how to take care of you. From appetizers, to entrees to dessert - several options that are free of gluten and full of flavor.
Our dinner was amazing! The bread was a delightful surprise! The palette cleanse was so good! We had a ribeye that melted in our mouth! The dessert was a banana benign, a perfect ending to a great dinner
We were very happy with our meal at Alligator Soul last night. This was an anniversary dinner, and it was nice that the hostess recognized that when we arrived. Andrew was a fantastic server, just the right balance of giving us space and stopping by whenever needed, and very helpful as we chose a wine and navigated a mild allergy concern.
The food was simply oustanding! We had the exotic specialty, which was Australian Red Stag, and duck for our entrees. This is not a cheap meal by any measure, but it was worth every penny. A great meal overall experience really added to our anniversary celebration. I definitely recommend Alligator Soul for a great meal.
The swordfish special is outstanding.
This was the second birthday dinner I hosted for a family member this year and again Alligator Soul was a hit! Our server was very attentive and friendly, also very helpful with suggestions and answering questions, and made sure we had an excellent experience. The food was outstanding! The beef filet my spouse enjoyed was soft and buttery. The best cut of beef we have tasted in quite some time. The antelope medallions were very tasty, though not really what I would call exotic in terms of taste, but not a disappointment. The oysters ala soul were a superb beginning and the desserts, banana beignets and a chocolate torte, were a divine ending. All of which was embraced by a marvelous bottle of Amarone. Alligator Soul should definitely be on the list for "must visit" restaurants in Savannah!
Even was amazing.. Highly recommend
Anniversary dinner .. couldn’t ask for a better restaurant.. ambiance was amazing .. service phenomenal..food was excellent
Find this place! This was one of the nicest places we have eaten. Excellent service, atmosphere and food. This was fine dining at its best. We will be eating here every visit to Savannah.
The hidden gem of the southeast. Find it, and you’ll never forget it. Nestled below the surface of Savannah’s historic downtown, this elegant brick underground dining experience has an atmosphere that is unparalleled and is easily overshadowed by the quality of their drinks, food and service. For their drinks, we were blown away by the perfect balance of flavor and liquor. The food was absolutely on the next level of culinary experience as every single item that came out, somehow topped the previous dish. The service is also second to none as they provide five star or higher table side assistance. The staff went so far as to make sure we celebrated our anniversary with a personalized dessert. Alligator Soul is the stuff of southern culinary legend!
Wonderful. Simply spectacular
Great atmosphere. Food was exceptional.
It was my birthday and it was absolutely beautiful. The food was delicious with a wonderful presentation and the very was terrific.
Great food and fantastic service.
Favorite place in Savannah. Everything we have ever had here has been absolutely terrific!!
Excellently impeccable everything!!!
We chose Alligator Soul for the gluten free menu. Wow! What an excellent choice! The place was warm and charming. The service was great and only outmatched by the delicious meal. The Oysters de la Soul were amazing, and the filet could be cut with a fork. This restaurant is one of the reasons Savannah will be a go to place for us. To say that I highly recommend this place is an understatement.
Excellent food and service. Loved the atmosphere. It was very expensive, so more of a treat for me. My only real complaint of that my dessert was larger than my entrée…which isn’t terrible, but it easily could have been half the size. I felt bad wasting most of it.
