Amazing service, delicious food, warm and cozy room, we loved everything about this restaurant!
In one word: Amazing.
Food was good, just not as good as last time and seemed a but prixier
Blown away by the level of food and service. Everything including the dessert did not disappoint! We were in town for the long weekend and it wasn't easy getting a seat here, but I am glad that we did! Foodies will be very happy here.
GM saved the day after a rough start, outstanding food and service. Been here many times can't wait to go back.
We had a wonderful waiter, and the food was heavenly. I had never had ostrich before.
Absolutely loved it!!!!! I went two nights it was so good!
Great food and ambiance. Our server was nice and attentive. Will be back.
We celebrated our 11 year anniversary at Alligator Soul. Our waiter Ryan made our evening so very special. I had the ostrich and my wife had the fish special. A breath taking meal and service experience.
Highly recommend by a friend that travels to Savannah regularly. Overall a good experience but a few issues were present. Our table was not ready when we arrived so was asked to sit in lounge and someone would be by to take our drink order. No one came by until they came to get us for our table.
We ordered apps and drinks which we fantastic. We then ordered our Main with a side of their take on oyster Rockefeller and a nice bottle of wine. The wife’s steak came out and it was cool. And they gave us our main courses but had to wait for the wine to be brought out to the table. And the oysters came out with the main course not as a second.
Again a unique and tasty restaurant and maybe it was just one of those nights. But it is the little things that separate good from great and on Saturday night Alligator Soul was good.
Food was amazing but our server was very rude.
Fabulous place to try a new place to eat. We enjoyed every moment for it was quiet. Foods were delicious
Super good food and ambiance. Our waiter was incredible!
Wonderful place to have a date night. Extremely attentive service and amazing food. Looking forward to next time.
We made a last minute reservation for Valentine’s and it was not disappointing. The waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu. The food was exceptional. We will be back.
Alligator Soul never disappoints! You certainly pay for a nice night out but you definitely get what you pay for and more! The restaurant calls in advance of your reservation to make sure all of your dietary needs are met and know exactly who you are when you arrive. Our waitress was kind, energetic, and gave us the backstory on the restaurant while serving a tailored amuse-bouche. My wife had a lentil pasta with a fresh portabello and I had the exotic entree of antelope. The waitress even gave my wife a rose for Valentine’s Day as we were preparing to leave; you’ll never regret eating at Alligator Soul!
This place is amazing! Such a quiet and intimate setting with an amazing menu. You will not be disappointed!
Great food and service was great as well. My only complaint would be that they didn’t serve much of a alligator option. Which was dissaponting, but would definitely go back and recommend!
Great food, great service. Would recommend to anybody who wants a romantic dinner.
One of our go to places in Savannah. We love everything they make.
Awesome meal - best we had in Savannah!
An early Valentines the mushroom salad is divine! My husband had the lamb and I had the scallops. Both delicious and very generous portions. I couldn’t finish the scallops. For dessert we the cobbler and the banana beignets OMG AMAZING. We consider this restaurant a repeater. A great meal with great service.
We enjoyed the alligator fritters. My partner had the filet mignon. It was properly cooked and excellent. I had a mixed selection of shrimp and grits, mussels, and gumbo. While it was all good, I wasn’t blown away by any of it. It’s a nice space but it was quite drafty that evening. Service was excellent.
Absolutely outstanding dinner with everything from the appetizer to dessert that was excellent. Service was perfect. Would highly recommend for a special evening.
Tried to get into another recommended restaurant a few times with no luck - then our luck changed - we came across Alligator Soul!! Service wa outstanding and the food was delicious! This is a gold star experience- nothing “grey” about it!!!
Ryan was phenomenal. Definitely the best service we experienced in Savannah. The oysters were the best we’ve ever had. Everything was amazing and would recommend to anybody wanting an upscale dining experience.
Went there for a Birthday dinner. Atmosphere was warm feeling. We were seated promptly at our reservation time. Server was very attentive and did not rush us as we were celebrating! Had the Boudin for starters was delicious. Hard time deciding what to get so Lamb, Shrimp and Grits and Filet were the choices everything was prepared perfectly. I would recommend this restaurant. We will be back when we come back to Savannah!!
Outstanding food, service and atmosphere. Would highly recommend for a special night out in Savannah.
My husband and I visited Alligator Soul for his birthday. The food was outstanding ! It is our new favorite when we visit Savannah.
Fantastic food with interesting choices, service was extremely professional, very cool space to dine in!
We had an absolutely scrumptious meal. We had the alligator fritters, gumbo, shrimp and grits. Perfection. Don’t miss this restaurant and it’s earthy, well done ambience. Also sooo appreciated the organic and local vibe.
There's nothing wrong with this place. Especially enjoyed the ambiance. But after three nights and three upscale downtown restaurants I concluded that Savannah is more of a cocktail kind of town. Friendly and fun; foodie, not so much.
Service was excellent, little hilbo steak was good but came out a little cold. Alligator boudin was not worth it, couldn't really taste the alligator.
The falling-off-the-bone bison chop special served with slightly crunchy purple grits really superb! Then had bourbon maple ice cream which was over-the-top fab. Yes go there. Don't be turned off by having to go downtstairs to basement level.
Excellent food as always. I was a little surprised when the runner sort of tossed the plate at me when he set it down, which flung some of the side dish onto the table, and then left without trying to clean up the spill.
Absolutely fantastic!! Magi was done to perfection.
Service great. Food was only ok for the price. A lot of the decor seemed out dated. Not worth the price.
Food and service was excellent. Fine dining in a casual atmosphere. Good wine selection. Servers menu knowledgeable. Bison short ribs delicious.
First time in town, went to a place with good reviews for a nice dinner with my wife on our anniversary. The service we recieved was second to none. However, our food was simply not up to par with the cost nor the service. The cheese/meat board we ordered was the best part. My wife’s vegetarian dish tasted like it had been marinated in liquid smoke for a few days and the mushrooms had absorbed all of this flavor like tiny sponges. My steak was simply okay. The gnocchi tasted more like reheated leftover tofu than a potato. The waiter graciously replaced my wife’s dish with grits sans shrimp which while she did not enjoy either kudos to the server for doing his best to clean up the mess made by the kitchen. Overall, the idea is there—but the kitchen fell short in everything except cutting up cheese and placing it on a wood plank.
Great place to celebrate our 29th anniversary! Our server, Natalie was outstanding - very informative, efficient, and friendly. The food was delicious, my husband had the beef filet and said it melted in his mouth and he loved his bananas beignets for dessert. I lucked out with it being restaurant week, so I chose the 3-course meal. I enjoyed the shaved brussel sprouts salad for my first course, bison short-rib for second course and rounded out my meal with chocolate bread pudding. Each course was unique and truly delish! The cocktails we had prior to dinner were equally as good. We are so grateful for the friends that recommended Alligator Soul.
