The food was amazing and the service was awesome! Best food in savannah!
Definitely would come back! Oysters are outstanding, service is excellent. Good selection of wine.
All of our food was good and memorable.
Very good service and setting. Steak came out a little more red than what a med/rare should be but it was still good.
Desserts were amazing!
If you are in Savannah and don't go to Alligator Soul.... YOU'RE AN IDIOT?!!
Great all around experience - only critic would be little chilly.
Fantastic food. Carving board and exotic dish were spectacular.
My husband swore those were the best lamb chops ever! The watermelon gazpacho was wonderful. Service was good and we had a very pleasant dining experience.
We had a fabulous experience. Hadn’t been here in awhile and forgot how wonderful it is, will visit again soon. Appetizers half dozen Oysters A La Soul and half order Drunken Mussels. Oysters were some of best our party of 4 ever tasted. Entrees Diver Scallops, local day boat fish Wahoo, exotic specialty Ostrich. Dessert Alligator Soul banana beignets. Our server, Zeb, was helpful and attentive but not overboard. Also enjoyed some wines we hadn’t tried before, Shatter Grenache and Blindfold Chardonnay. Nice wine list. It’s a little pricey but worth it.
The food was unbelievable but our waiter Ryan made the experience one to never forget. Do not miss this experience!
Did not check us in on open table we were notified that we were a no show but we were there they fixed the issue
Great food and service. We have gone on anniversary 3 times and are always thrilled with the experience.
Such a haven tucked away in downtown! Very allergy friendly, lots of gluten free options. The grit based croutons are amazing!
Our waiter was attentive for most of the meal, but he kind of disappeared after our food arrived. My entree could’ve used some salt, but I couldn’t ask for it and there wasn’t any available on the table. Aside from that, we enjoyed the meal.
Tables are a little close together so it’s easy to hear everyone else’s conversations.
Warm welcome, great service, unique food.
Always on point. First time I’ve had ostrich, I’ll definitely look for it again.
The staff was very inattentive and never checked in on us to see if we needed more drinks.
Ryan was the best server! He was informative and made our dining experience much more enjoyable. The food was delicious and prepared perfectly. Thank you!
Took my girlfriend for dinner on our date night and we loved it. Our server was very knowledgeable on the food and wine. The food was excellent, however I wished there was a couple more option of alligator dish. Overall, we had a memorable time and would definitely come back at our next visit to Savanah.
My family was visiting Savannah as part of our summer vacation and dined at Alligator Soul on the recommendation of a dear friend. I’m glad we took him up on it!
We shared the alligator fritters. They were good. My youngest had the lamb chops, which were delicious. My eldest had the watermelon & feta salad, which was perfect given the humidity of Savannah in the summer. She also had the crawfish Mac & cheese and devoured it! I had the ostrich, which I had never tried before. It was good as well. My wife had the red snapper, which she thoroughly enjoyed.
Ryan, our waiter, was EXCELLENT. He made us feel welcome from the start and gave us some very good recommendations.
I would definitely return.
The food was wonderful and the service was the best I have ever had. Our server was Erin, and she was super knowledgeable and helpful with describing the menu. We tried several new things and they were all outstanding. I would highly recommend this for a quite dinner.
A really nice place down a flight of stairs into a basement. Excellent food and service! We will most definitely paying them a visit on our next trip to Savannah!
Awesome meal and service!
Our first visit to Savanna and Zi had made our reservation a few weeks in advance. I researched restaurants and thought this looked really special. What a fabulous meal. Our waiter Daniel was terrific, the atmosphere was really lovely with exposed brick, architectural features and perfect lighting. We shared the watermelon and feta salad, divine. My husband had the Gumbo which he said was one one of the best he ever had. I had the appetizer portion of the shrimp and grits, really delicious. We finished with the flourless chocolate torte which was the perfect ending to a really wonderful night.
We absolutely love this place!
Nice place, though felt a bit rushed. We arrived early and planned to have a pre-dinner drink, but instead were offered our table. Wait staff could have slowed down the pace and not asked about dessert as I was still finishing my dinner. The food was excellent overall. Glad I tried the Ostrich!
Great food, service, and atmosphere. Would highly recommend. Our server was fantastic and very informative. Very attentive.
It was amazing!
In Savannah for a weekend vacation and decided on here by rating and reviews. It did not disappoint. The food was delicious, good size servings and a very attentive staff.
Ok. The food is good. The place is in a basement so ambience only goes so far. The thing that pulled this place down was our server. Once we didn’t order drinks, his attitude changed and when we didn’t order appetizers, he actually played a word play on us to think that a salad was included in our entree. It was down right shady. We have eaten around the world in some of the finest restaurants and have never been subjected to a sneaky move like that. After finishing our mains, it took a good long time for him to offer dessert. By then, there was no way we were getting anything more. So, another long wait ensues before getting our bill. We had to flag down the hostess in order to finish the transaction. A poor showing for what is actually pretty good food. Pity.
One of the best dining experiences we've had. Cannot give a higher review. I wish I lived nearby so I could go back often.
Some of the best food my husband and I have ever had! Definitely a MUST when in Savannah!
The food was really good. The cocktails were very good as well. Our server was young and appeared to be new. She didn't really offer much by way of ingredients or meal preparation but she did know the daily features. I heard the server behind us explaining nearly every feature on the menu in good detail, so perhaps we had the new person. Regardless, the atmosphere and food were very good. I would recommend them for a nice meal or for cocktails at their bar...
This is by far the best restaurant in Savannah. I spend about 21 to 30 days a year here for training. Sometimes I go to Alligator soul twice.
A great mix of Seafood, Cajun/Creole, Game meat, and chops.
Gumbo was delicious, special mahi was mediocre. Service was attentive. Overall, not bad.
This food was great, the service even better. The price could have been a better value but I wouldn't ever let it stop me.
Server was over seated, empty app plates and drink glasses sat in front of us forever, NO bus help at all, couple of the orders came out wrong, we had to chase server down for drinks, then he got a little snippy and we could not have been nicer about the whole thing.
The food and service is always great at Alligator Soul!
We will be back again one day!!
The food was outstanding. Every dish was full of creative flavor. The atmosphere is lovely with the dining rooms split into different rooms, so it had a cozier feel. Our server was very friendly and eager to please, however, he did not have quite the polish I would expect for this level of dining. Maybe he was new, and still getting his groove. We will definitely return
I ordered a cup of shrimp & grits and the veggies fear not plate. Both were excellent! If I were to do it over again I’d order the veggie plate and just add shrimp, which I’ve heard others have done. The oniony bread and sweet butter they bring out while you’re waiting tastes SO good (and I don’t usually eat bread!). My husband got the exotic dish (ostrich), which pretty much tasted like a good steak! The banana beignet bowl was one of the best desserts I’ve ever tasted! Overall, a great fancy dining experience.
Wonderful restaurant. Loved the ambiance and service was great!
