The Little Door - Santa Barbara
It’s an Awesome restaurant! Food is so delicious! We were celebrating my niece’s 60th Birthday and she and her husband just loved it! It was very special to her! My cousin and her husband were there with us and it was their first time and they would absolutely be back!
Really nice meal good food good service great value for money
One of our favorite go to restaurants for last minute decision. The service and food is always very pleasant and it is a restaurant that seems to draw a nice collection of clientele
great food and service... lots of good and different tastes
Enjoyed the food. Service was amazing. I felt special and well taken care of.
Servers were pleasant but inattentive. Paella wasn't really paella, just overly salty rice with some seafood on top. Brussel sprouts were super salty and flavorless. Mushrooms were ordinary. Sangria was a total rip-off: a glass of ice with a little bit of sugary-cinnamony wine. Place was so noisy, I could barely hear my friend across the table. Totally overpriced.
We loved the date with a pig! We could have keep ordering them all night except then we fell in love with the sliders! My shrimp were gloriously huge and cooked to perfection! The braised beef and polenta scrumptious as well as everything we tried! Awesome brut rose champagne and dynamite mojitos! The staff perfection!
Cutest little place. Decor amazing, cozy (1 more fan would be great for hot days like today), but not a deal breaker.
Food is AMAZING, everything we had was delicious, Patas Bravas was not very traditional and potatoes are spicy not just the sauce. (For my daughter). But boy was the food good, perfectly seasoned - get the Mushrooms! Drinks are super yumm, real mixology, not just some bar drinks.
The food will have us come back, but the downfall here is that they are quite busy with 14 tables and only 1 server and no busser. Server is host, waitress, runner, and busser. This does not work for a tapas place - it is too fast paced!
We would have ordered at LEAST 4 more dishes and 2 more drinks had the service been faster. And this was NOT the fault of the server, she was truly amazing and organized, barely keeping everything running.
Shame on the owners for making her work so hard by herself - and they may think they are saving $ only having 1 person staffed, but the quality of attention with a chat with your server along with the fact that I would have spent at least an additional $75 for only 30mins of extra service (and we where only 2 people, imagine if every table was like us)?
I am a chef, and everything here is great, but the owners Must wake up to the fact 1) they will make far more profit if they have more staff and 2) customers spend more when their server can spend even 30 seconds bonding or going over the menu - she was great, but running around like a chicken with her head cut off - Not cool. All of the bad reviews state this same issue - this place could be sooo amazing if you can cure this issue. Food is good enough to try again, but if the pace was to be repeated, I would have to give my business to other area tapas places where I am actually ‘cared’ for. :)
Wonderful neighborhood gem. Great tapas, happy hour. Gracious service - just a wonderful atmosphere.
It was an amazing meal, the drinks where super yummy, we didn’t have a bad bite. It was the prefect tapas
Great place - wonderful service and neighborhood feel. Tapas and happy hour are terrific.
The food is excellent at this little tapas restaurant. Very friendly service. Sister restaurant to Milk and Honey. Both have truly outstanding food. Pulled pork tacos, sliders, etc. outstanding. It gets busy and can be noisy depending on how many larger tables but not nearly as noisy inside as Milk and Honey.
Love it here, great food, wonderful service!!! Great sangria and happy hour~cozy and fun
Funky, friendly, really good tapas, waitress Zoe was terrific, great off-the-beaten path non touristy taste of Santa Barbara.
Six of us went for Tapas on Friday night and we loved everything about it—the vibe, the wonderful drinks, and the exceptional food. Everything was absolutely delicious. It is fairly noisy and hard to hear from one end of the table to the other, but we had a great time.
The location (strip mall-esque) was not what I expected but once inside we were pleasantly surprised by the delicious food, nice ambiance and overall great experience.
The restaurant and their capable and welcoming staff gave us a delightful evening. The margaritas might have been a bit less tart, but that was our only issue. The food was creatively conceived and reliably and consistently produced.
What a fun, delicious dining experience! Cute little place, innovative small bites, very friendly service. Chill vibe so don’t go if you’re in a rush. We’ll be back!
The tapas were delicious but it is a very small place with a lot of talking and background music so it was not a great match for us. If that is your scene, it is a wonderful place as the wait staff are warm and attentive and the food is really special and unique. We have been to the alcazar in Cordoba, Spain so I was picturing it being a little Spain-ish but it really wasn't so don't get taken by the name. It is worth a try for some delicious quick bites, we had the gambas alcazar which was delicious and so were the chicken tacos. the desserts are delicious too.
Food was tasty, drinks were delicious and service was friendly .
Really enjoyed my time here.
And they listened to my seating request which made the experience even better.
Always great! My husband and I love this little Mesa gem. Beautiful and delicious cocktails. Very tasty tapas to share. Definitely fit for foodies.
Excellent food. Nice atmosphere. Older crowd until 8:00 and then younger crowd takes over. Wonderful tapas and drinks. We celebrated a 60th birthday. Great wait staff even with the crowd. Reserve a table if you want to come at peak dinner hours.
This place is a Mesa gem! The food just gets better and better! Among our favorites are lamb sliders ("Lamborghini ") and "Date With a Pig" (bacon wrapped date).... Yum!
Our waitress at our last three visits was Veda, who is delightful.
Our neighborhood go to place. It never disappoints. Happy hour has good value and interesting tapas selections. Nice wine list and good cocktails. Nice vibe to the place
A bit overwhelming at first -- so crowded, so noisy. Should we leave? Let's give 'em a chance. Glad we did. They got the job done somehow. Fun food, fun staff. They can do it!
Always exceptional food. The wait staff are all pleasant, professional and enhance the experience.
We are just visiting the area but had this place on out to do list from our previous trip last year. It was just as good as we remembered and we’ll be coming back a few times before we head home.
The restaurant was warm and welcoming. We did not have to wait for our table and they brought us two glasses of sparkling wine to celebrate our anniversary. Although the place was packed, we had no problems having a conversation. The food was great!
As good as the previous time. Inventive, imaginative tapas! The "Lamborghini" remains a hot favorite of ours.
Quick anniversary dinner. Very tasty! The new strand of lights they have hanging are very bright and VERY hot to sit next by. We didn't like that but the food and service were great.
I think they forgot our order because although our first few dishes came out quickly, our "main dish" took an extremely long time, which made us late to and wvent
Very good food & service. Unusual menu items, but really good!
This is a quirky, hard to find the first time, tapas restqaurant. It is cool, noisy, fun, crowded, very good food and friendly service, and affordable. I can't remember the dishes we ordered now about a month after our visition, but after my glass of Rioja I tried another excellent Spanish red from Ribera del Duero. Very fun wines. And the Wonder Woman movie playing without sound on the wall fit right in. Good luck finding it the first time you go.
Tasty sangria and fish tacos, fun old wonder woman series for entertainment.
Went on Friday nite. Low overall score but Tapas were all really good, esp Lamburgini, as usual. Problem was the drinks. They were really subpar. Margarita wasn't mixed right -> how do u mess up a margarita?? Granted the waitress did offer to re-do it, I declined as my faith was not there...as my friend's scotch based cocktail was also off as well~. It's a Tapas place... gotta have a bartender who can at least not screw up a margarita ?
My wife and I were visiting CA from TN and heard about Alcazar, so we decided to check it out. We're so glad we did. The food and atmosphere were excellent, the wait staff friendly and helpful, and the prices very reasonable. Alcazar is a great little gem of a place.
We went for our anniversary. The food was excellent. Fresh and tasted great. The tapas plates were perfect for two. They gave us two glasses of champagne for our anniversary. The specialty cocktails were great.
How fun! Tapas dining can be SO fun, and the staff and food quality makes Alcazar the very best in town. Period. A little noisy, but that might be the eight girls that took over an adjacent table. Server (Alvaro) was awesome!
Fantastic all around. Delicious cocktails, excellent service, a wonderful ambience, and quality food with interesting and well-balanced flavors. I've already been recommending it to friends
