I had the flat iron steak salad and it was wonderful. I actually split it with my guest and we both had plenty. It is a good entree to split (it is almost made to split because the salad has two pieces of toast, and multiple of two of each ingredient.) We usually gwt a cup of soup also, but there was no spup on 5/13. It is ok - like I said, we had plenty. We each had a signature drink - they were VERY good. The service, as always, is great. We go to the Zoo about twice a month and each time we go to Alberts. The chef is great and he changeds the menu often, so we have never been bored or disapointed.
We went there after a wonderful walk around the zoo!!
Took Mom here for Mother’s Day! The food was great, the restaurant smelled a little funny, but that’s my only complaint, the service was great, enjoyed the waterfall outside the window.
This place was wonderful and the food was good. I love the skinny pomegranate margarita
This dining experience at the zoo is unique compared to the typical amusement park sort of fare offered. It is a gem right in the middle of the world’s best zoo. The food is outstanding, the offerings are surprisingly upscale, and the service is excellent. We try to always book a reservation when we visit the zoo to enjoy a cool and relaxing reprieve from the hustle and bustle of the crowds. I highly recommend it!
Janice was outstanding. And she had the required sense of humor to make us want to come back.
Celebrating my wonderful mother!
Albert's is a hidden gem at the zoo. The food is Gourmet and the ambience is so relaxing.
The food was delicious and the ambience near the waterfall was outstanding. Crepe with asparagus featured a perfectly dressed salad and pretty little discs of potato. French dip sandwich was good with plenty of meat and excellent fries. The sundae was a perfect ending—plenty of chocolate sauce and bits, and included some fresh mixed berries. Highly recommend.
The food was good, the wait staff is not well organized.
Our waiter, Nathan was outstanding! He brought us new iced teas without even asking and remembered to also bring extra ice!
Give that man a raise!
The breakfast is so good! Highly recommend booking ahead though
My family and I enjoyed our lunch at the zoo relaxing. The food was excellent and service was great!
Truly incredible experience - service, food, everything - they were so accommodating and service had great attitudes. Thank you!!
Great service and atmosphere! Limited menu.
Albert's food, service and ambiance is so good that I consider it a destination restaurant. The patio is a cool oasis in a world class setting. The service is always impeccable and the menu changes often enough to keep it interesting while always being delicious. A visit to Albert's is among my highlights of a visit to the San Diego Zoo.
Food is good, but pricey. Service was okay. The new outdoor area is right next to a waterfall that is deafening if your table is close to it. It was not relaxing.
We went to Albert's for a special 95th Birthday. We were seated right away by the waterfall that we had requested. They were attentive to my severe gluten allergy, and the food was tasty. Our server was very good.
Such great food in the Zoo, and the ambience is so special. The entire staff is friendly and helpful!
The setting was spectacular, eating outdoors on the patio of the meeting room, amongst the trees with a flowing waterfall cascading. My sister visiting from out of town couldn't get over the beauty of the setting.
I was a bit disappointed in the menu (maybe just the lunch menu?). I expected there to be several vegan options, but there was not one. Several labeled vegetarian, but that was it. So many restaurants are supporting the move towards plant-based eating, and some have vegan sub menus, like Seasons 52 and Civico 1845. It just irks me when a restaurant doesn't make an effort to have vegan alternatives such as mock meat, or vegan cheese or sauces. In the end, I ended up with a veggie kabob. they had to withhold the cheese and didn't have an alternative sauce. I have to say, the veggies were roasted to perfection, but come on. Eating meat is what caused the covid outbreak in the first place, and eating animal products is a major contributor to climate change and habitat devastation around the world. Restaurants need to support us with innovative plant-based options as our society makes that transition.
Fantastic place to eat. We’ll try to make reservations for every visit.
The cheese bread is a MUST eat!! The chicken sandwich and turkey sandwich are super yummy!
Excellent Service and Food. A little pricey, however it is in the Zoo
Beautiful outdoor dining experience. Reservations 10:30am outdoor next to waterfall was a perfect, all while maintaining social distancing.
Best ambiance and service!
It was a special occasion for my family!
Food was tasty, but wasn't served piping hot. It was only luke warm.
Albert's is a perfect dining experience at the Zoo.
We felt rushed, my husband wanted to get a coffee after lunch and the waitress just brought the receipt without asking. Also had let her know in the beginning I wanted a birthday cake/sundae for my son after we finished lunch, didn’t bring it and just brought the check down while I was still eating some food.
We had a great dining experience at Albert's! We sat outside by the waterfall, it was so relaxing and a beautiful ambiance. The food was a little pricey but tasted so good it was definitely worth it!
Jacob is a fantastic waiter. don’t miss out on Alberts next time you’re at the zoo
Fantastic service!! Three of us ordered three different dishes. The tuna was great; the fish tacos were great; the chicken sandwich was a bit too dry and overdone but satisfying...It was piled high with fries, which we all shared, so that made up for it... I would probably order the chicken sandwich again just to make sure it wasn’t a bad day for the cook. This is a great restaurant.
Wonderful place to eat when you're at the zoo. Excellent service, friendly and quiet. The food was delicious and it's nice to know that the proceeds go right back into the maintenance of the park and the care of the animals.
Was surprised that they had to ask if we wanted indoor or outdoor seating since it was specified at time reservation was placed online. We were pleased with service.
Alberts is always a great break at the zoo. The food is excellent, service is always great. It was a little cool out on the balcony on Monday but that is certainly not the fault of the restaurant.
We were enjoying a nice lunch until a party of eight arrived with three small children who acted like they were on a playground. It became very distracting. Otherwise, the food and service were very good.
They were just closed, we made the reservations for nothing.. They really should have send a email letting us know that they were closed..
Our reservation was at 1:30 so we went at 1 to see if it was possible to be seated sooner. The lady very rudely said “your table will be ready after 1:30 so you’ll have to come back after that.” We left and went back at 1:28 and checked in. The same hostess notified is that our table was being cleaned off at the moment and she would call us when it was ready. While standing there another family walked up and said “hello we have a reservation at 2” the hostess then said “oh your table isn’t quite ready but if you would like to stick around I can see if it is ready sooner than 2.” We were not afforded the same courtesy. It was not 1:40 and the lady with the reservation at 2 was sat before us. When I went and asked the hostess about our table she said “oh it’s being sanitized.” We were finally sat, we waited about 10 minutes for someone to come get out drink order. The service was just bad. The food is way over priced.
The food was spectacular. The service was great. Our server was very helpful and accommodating to my husband’s dietary restrictions.
Three of us had a girls day out... very nice sitting by the waterfall. Next time we’ll sit a little further away (a little noisy). Food was tasty... much better than upstairs. Had a nice lunch❣️
