AMAZING!!!!!! The food, the staff the tasting menu, the wines ..everything . We celebrated our anniversary here, and we have an amazing keepsake that we frame. This place is better is worth the trip to Honolulu alone lol

Returned to Alan Wong's for our fifth visit, and the second time celebrating my birthday. As with each prior visit the service was impeccable. Contrary to some reviews, we were seated right on time and greeted by many staff with a Happy Birthday greeting. My wife had the seafood cakes as her appetizer. I liked them, she loved 'em. I had the ahi salsa stack. Both were excellent but my ahi/guacamole stack with aioli and greens is something I look forward to every time. The flavors blend so smoothly with just the right bite! For entrees, my wife had the clams and shrimp pasta dish and asked it to be kicked up just a bit in spiciness. It was fabulous. We ended up sharing it because it was simply better than the Keahole Lobster and seafood over orzo that I had. Mine was Very good, but her's was better, IMHO. We finished with a slice of their birthday cake and another chocolate crunch dessert that was also excellent.

All in all, Alan Wong's never disappoints. We will return as often as we can. BTW, try the chef's counter if you can sometime. so much fun watching the cooking and preparation.

Everything was gracious from the moment we arrived.
Interesting cocktail choices and low key recommendations for wine, explanation of dishes. We did not do the tasting menu as it was a lot of food. But the couple next to us seemed to really enjoy it. We loved the tacos appetizer. That night there was cream of asparagus soup, the best we’ve ever had. The dressing on the beet salad was a delicious sweet, tangy. Salmon was perfectly grilled and the short ribs so rich. There was no room for dessert! But so many tempting one went by.

Have eaten here several times, and never had a bad meal, but this event was not as special as in the past with respect to food. It was very good but not great. Guess we have been spoiled by past events, but would still recommend to others.

Not quite as good as we remembered. Menu was apparently limited by available food supply, per our waiter, but that shouldn’t keep us from being offered a second piece of bread, or a refill on a drink. Ahi stack was delicious, but the signature short ribs were dry. Service was sporadic, and apologetic every tine he finally made it to our table. We were easily there for half an hour longer than we needed to be, and while that’s sometimes a blessing, here it was simply inattention.

We had an excellent experience from start to finish. The valet was quick, friendly and efficient . Our waiters were courteous, helpful and timing was excellent. We did the tasting and wine pairing menu to celebrate my birthday and we enjoyed everything. Loved receiving two chocolate desserts. We will definitely be back and my husband plans to bring clients to the restaurants for business. Excellent management!

My wife and I absolutely loved it. The food was delicious, the service was great, and the atmosphere was fun and relaxed. I'd highly suggest it to anyone. If you are in Honolulu, you have to go to Alan Wong's!

What do you get when you combine outstanding cuisine, incredibly efficient service, a neighborhood gem, and the “neighborhood” is Honolulu? Answer: Alan Wong
We last ate there in 2001 (we don’t live in Hawaii) and were so impressed then that we went out of our way to eat there again 17 years later. It got even better!

Excellent we’ve had in Honolulu for years. We did the five course tasting with wine pairings. Food was excellent for each course. Wine was 4 out of 5 but maybe just our taste. Service was very attentive but not overly memorable. Ambiance was charming but lacks the wow of newer/better locations. Only real miss in our opinion is that we mentioned celebrating Valentines (2/15) but servers didn’t even wish us Happy Valentines. Oh well...we will be back for the food.

Every course took so long to arrive. The goat cheese arugula salad was NOT a salad, it's more like a fruit cheese dish, very disappointing. And when we expressed our concern, no attempt to please us. We spent over $300.00 and will not return.
