AJ's Oldtown Steakhouse & Tavern is located in the heart of Old Town, offers a casual, friendly atmosphere and is known locally as the "Historic Waterfront". While we are not a fancy, we believe in amazing food, fun specialty drinks, and great entertainment! We value our guests and believe in goodwill and hospitality. AJ's is proud to be serving up the top 2% of USDA Prime Beef offered in the Nation and we like to top it off with a premium martini. We feature mouth-watering steaks & great seafood including Local Alaska Scallops, King Crab, Fresh Halibut & Salmon in a friendly old town atmosphere! This venue also offers fun family entertainment & dinner music. Established in 1941 as the Homer Cafe and Club it was the first bar in Homer and has been serving up delicious fare and drinks for over 70 years.

We had the halibut and bacon burger and they were both phenomenal. There was live piano player and it was the perfect setting. This was recommended by friends and it did not disappoint. We will definitely be back.

We had dinner on a Sat night at AJs. It is an older building, but apparently well maintained. We had two salads apps- the cranberry mixed green one was very good- and two filets. The meats was very well seasoned, and cooked to the correct temp. The bill was less than I imagined it would be, which is nice. There was a piano player, but it was nice background music, not too loud. I would highly recommend.

Nice place, nice restaurant, clean and good atmosphere. The owner has been very welcoming as well as the waitress. Meat was excellent , wine choice and sweet as well. I would return and I would recommend. Price was right for what we got.

Made it to Homer for an anniversary trip and quickly sought out AJs for dinner on the strong recommendation of a friend. Excellent- did not disappoint. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and the food was out of this world. I had the filet and added scallops and the goat cheese butter topping. Top notch. Would highly recommend- does not disappoint-lives up to its already amazing reputation.

I did not request any particular table for the evening. Gerald had us seated in the back but my wife does not like the back, so Gerald moved us to the front by the windows. Thank you Gerald. He was very gracious. He even had a card signed by the entire staff for our 55th wedding anniversary. As usual the staff did an excellent job and the food was outstanding. Their steaks are really good steaks. All in all, we had a wonderful evening dining out at AJ’s. I had three of our grandchildren deliver 55 roses to our table to participate in our celebration. Thank you Gerald, looking forward to another event to celebrate at AJ’s Oldtown Restaurant in Homer, Alaska

Without a doubt, AJ’s is the best restaurant; my son and grandchildren had a wonderful dinner. The wait staff was quite attentive and very pleasant. Dinner arrived shortly and we ate everything. Thank you.
