It was pre-St, Paddy's Day and The Staff was gearing up for a Party.

Great Food and Great Service. made it all worthwhile.

The patio is what makes this place. Their brunch/breakfast menu is pretty good and the prices are not crazy expensive. On the flip side, I went a day in February and the turkey burger I had was dry despite a heavy slathering of cranberry sauce. And the $2 up-cost for a Caesar salad is hardly worth it. Go and eat outside. The mistakes are magnified inside.

Excellent services from the server and the manager, totally flexible and friendly.

Better menu selection than big name restaurants on appetizers and mains, and better food quality. Didn't check out the desserts though.

Great choices on local beers, cocktails and wine.

It's finer dining experience than many of the fine dining restaurants I have been to before!

We went on a random whim for valentine's dinner. Never been, but would definitely go back!

It was truly the staff and service that made this experience a stand out! They were amazing! Two people in our party enjoyed the 'flights of beer' - a great way to sample local craft beers! I would definitely go back in summer to enjoy the scenery and atmosphere from outdoors as well.

I had dinner with a friend of mine on a Wednesday night in November. She was staying at the Harbour Castle Hotel, so this restaurant is just a short walk along Queen's Quay. Surprisingly (given how packed the patio is in the summer time), the restaurant was nearly empty, so service was immediate and excellent. Loved the Lobster flat bread! I'm sure the noise level elevates with more patrons, but we'll definitely go back and try the patio in the summer.

I keep returning - service is great, people are super friendly, views are amazing of the water AND the food is smashing.

Against the Grain has a modern "comfort food" menu and a great selection of beers. We were surprised that it wasn't busy in the fall (it has been very busy in summer when the outdoor patio is open), but the fact that you have to pay a minimum of $10 to park (and there is not easy public transit) perhaps explains this

I had brunch here on a Sat. The location is great. Beautiful view of the lake and islands. I saw some outdoor fireplaces and outdoor furniture that would likely make the restauarant good for evening cocktails. My "Against the Grain Benny" were cold. Not cool but cold. My husband had a delicious burger. 1 for 2. Not worth going back if it didn't have the spectacular location. Expensive to park in the area.

We went for an impromptu dinner on a Friday night around 7:30. The restaurant was veryyyy quiet, as in very few tables. Service was friendly and competent. Food was okay - I enjoyed the kale and quinoa salad with shrimp and my dining companion had the italian stallion flatbread which was weird. The dough had an odd taste and it just fell flat.
