There's nowhere better to savour a delicious traditional Afternoon Tea than The Montague, overlooking peaceful gardens in the heart of London or in our beautiful Leopard Bar.

Our Afternoon Tea includes a scrumptious selection of warmly baked plain and raisin scones, delicious cakes, and freshly hand-cut sandwiches including egg and mayo, smoked salmon, chicken, cucumber, and cream cheese. We ensure we pay proper respect to this special ritual while offering some intriguing variations on the original, with a delicious 'Prince & Princess' option for the little ones.

This year marks the 26th year of London Open Gardens, an annual event that offers unique access to over one hundred hidden green spaces not normally open to the public. In partnership with The Bedford Estates, The Montague on the Gardens is delighted to offer visitors of the London Open Gardens Weekend an Afternoon Tea Takeaway. Guests can enjoy this as a picnic in the exclusive setting of Montague Street Gardens, located behind the iron wrought gates adjacent to the Montague on the Gardens. Afternoon Tea takeaways are available on Saturday 7th June and Sunday 8th June between 11.30am and 3pm (subject to availability). £39 per person, which includes the complimentary ticket to the gardens Terms and conditions: • Priced at £39 per person, this includes access to Montague Street Gardens and Afternoon Tea • The Afternoon Tea will be packaged in a takeaway box, which can be collected at the specified time of your booking, from the gate of the Montague Street Gardens. This will contain a selection of sandwiches, seasonal cakes, and fresh scones. No drinks will be included. The Montague on the Gardens hotel team will be operating a pop-up bar during the weekend for guests to enjoy, with payment required on the day. • Booking in advance is required and limited availability applies • Traditional, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and halal menus are available, please specify any dietary requirements at the point of booking • Visitors can enjoy the Afternoon Tea as a picnic in the gardens, as a self-service experience. A collection of tables and chairs will be available, but these may be limited. We cannot guarantee seating. • Full pre-payment is required at the point of booking and is strictly non-refundable.

Join us for a magical experience where smooth jazz fills the air under the open sky. Tickets: • The evening runs from 5pm-9pm • This is a ticketed event. Tickets can be purchased for £20 per person which includes a complimentary drink (Prosecco, Wine, beer or soft drink - one drink per person). • Additional drinks can be bought from the Montague on the Gardens Pop Up Bar. • Payments are strictly non-refundable and non-transferable. Really lovely venue and the Xmas afternoon tea was expensive for what it was - the scones were flat and dry and the sweet patisserie was very poor and dry and lacked flavour. The sandwiches were the best part and the chicken and almond one went down the best. We also ordered a magnum of champagne and the glasses they served it in were very cheap and disappointing to drink Veuve from… it was ok but wouldn’t rush back as better afternoon tea and patisserie skills at another hotel…

Food is mediocre. You can get as good, if not better, at any village coffee shop. The exceptions were the mango tea (that is divine) & the chicken sandwich with crushed almond crumb. The rest is nothing special at all. The venue’s decor is tired. Service lacks finesse (a pot of hot tea ended up on a diner’s lap). Tables are too small for the type of food being served & you don’t feel that this is a place where you can take your time. The cost is exorbitant for what you receive. It’s London pricing + some.

Relaxing afternoon tea in a beautiful setting. They were able to accommodate gluten free diet and also a low sugar diabetic diet. It was the high point of a hectic day in London!

Pour service and bad surprise when receiving the bill. The service was extra-charged which made the final price quite different from what was announced in Opentable reservation. Is it Opentable police to give prices without taxes or was The Montague unfair?
