Dinner was amazing. Atmosphere was beautiful. Outstanding service.
Great for date night or any special occasion. Servers very polite and patient explaining the menu and specials
My wife and I recently celebrated our 30th anniversary and enjoyed a lovely dinner at the Aerie restaurant. The food and service was over the top, we highly recommend this restaurant for any special occasion.
We went there for our 10 year wedding anniversary, The food was really good, i ordered the octopus and my wife ordered the sea bass, both were very pleased with the meal, service was a little slow for not bieng overly busy. Nice atmosphere, would recommend to others.
Menu seems a bit small but food was very good and nice ambiance
The only disappointment in the evening was the lack of a sunset. Views of the sunset from Aerie are awesome.
We started our evening with a cocktail, looking out at the fall colors. We paired our dinner of the salmon special and the tomato tartine with a Ridge Zinfandel. It was superb. The menu at Aerie is small and it changes. This was our third visit here this year and each time it has been hard to choose what to have for dinner.
Our sever, Angelique, was personable, professional and knowledgeable about the food and wine. The tables are well-spaced and we felt comfortable with Grand Traverse Resort’s COVID rules. We had our temperatures taken when entering and the signage clearly states that masks that cover the nose and mouth are required - not bandanas and not neck gaiters. We appreciated that.
Amazing service!!! Paige was my waitress Ans she was very attentive and kind. I have a gluten allergy and she double checked everything I ordered. The shrimp cocktail was good but the Aerie Salad and Filet mignon (added on) was delicious! I will want to try their brunch next time I’m in town.
The menu was limited. The steak was tough and small and the duck was awful.
The lemon drop however was great.
Great place to eat amazing view friendly staff. Food was good too!
While the views are wonderful from the restaurant perched 16 floors up, I could question how long I would be able to see straight out of the windows due to the cocktails I ordered tasting of little more than raw alcohol. For some, that may be a positive, but on Saturday night it was not what I was looking for. The kurobota pork belly was the real star of the evening - everything about this started was exceptional. From there, for me, it was a decline. I ordered the filet au poivre with no substitutions, cooked medium. The well done piece of meat I was served had to be salvaged by adding liberal amounts of the remaining pesto oil meant for the table bread. It is possible that my order was confused for the man at the table next to me who had ordered the same entree. I had the viewing pleasure of seeing his wife chat loudly on FaceTime throughout the evening while he sent back his filet for not being cooked well done. My date thoroughly enjoyed the duck breast meal, particularly delighting in the grilled naan. For dessert, we shared the creme brulee which looked wonderful. Perhaps a personal preference, but I prefer my creme brulee to not sting the nerves in my teeth because it is so cold. Of note, the hostess did acknowledge that I was there to celebrate an anniversary and our waitress was very kind and attentive. It could have been an off night for the chef, but for the cost of the evening I doubt I would return again based on this first experience.
Our service was fantastic. Recommendations were on point. Food was delicious and the table had a terrific view only sorry we missed the sunset.
Just a horrible dining experience all around.
The seafood was superb, and the service was outstanding. We try to get back at least once a year.
The Service, View, quality of food, service, View, atmosphere, service, view, service, selection and the Superb job of the Chef paired with Outstanding service and a breathtaking view! All quite top notch. Did I mention the Service and that view? Don’t miss this!
Service was great especially since we had two kids under 3. Social distancing was very good.
Half of our food was forgotten. We had to wait 45 minutes for drinks.
Amazing food with an amazing view. Great for special occasions or to see the amazing colors in the fall.
A little bit too dark , I would
Expect a nice table lamp
Candle to set more the ambience
A beautiful setting. The service was quite average. The food was good but not extraordinary. Someone may want to inform the building that science has shown that neck gaiters protect you about as much as a "mask"...
Our server, Angelique, was absolutely amazing. We were celebrating my birthday and my wife and I are on our honeymoon. She had great recommendations and took very good care of us. The food was absolutely incredible and we will be back on our next trip to Traverse City.
Very limited menu. Uncomfortable booths Beautiful sunset view.
fantastic dining experience all around, only slightly marred by the restrictions imposed by the pandemic, but ultimately this is not the Aerie's fault. I'm just glad they're still open for business.
This was one of the top 3 worst dining experiences of my life. As soon as we walked in, we were blown away by the views. However, we immediately heard a table complaining. We were sat and waited around 5 min for the server to come over. When my mother and aunt ordered an Absolut Vodka and cranberry. The server looked at them as if they had grown another head and said she would check to see if they had that. 10 min later, another server came up to take our order. 5 min after ordering, the 1st server came back with the drinks, apologizing for the delay, explaining that she had to find a bartender. She brought my husband Kahlua and coffee instead of Baileys and coffee, even after they had had a long discussion about how he did not want the Kahlua and coffee drink on the menu. She apologized and returned with the Baileys and coffee after 10 minutes. Our charcuterie tray then arrived - the server stated that she would bring plates. After waiting 5 minutes, I walked up to the server stand, where I found the server on the computer. I asked for plates and silverware and yet another server walked the plates to our table and picked silverware off empty tables to give to us. As soon as we finally had plates and utensils, our entrees arrived, even though we had asked for time between our app and entrees. I ordered the waffles without nuts and they were brought out with nuts. My mother's Aerie breakfast was lacking the bacon. After 10 min of no one checking in on us, my husband got up to ask a server about the missing bacon. 5 min later, cold bacon arrived on a plate and the server came to see how everything was - by this point we had all finished eating. The 1st server then came with the bill and we had to ask her to clear our plates. The 2nd server came to pick up the check. I said this was one of the worst experiences of my life and she offered to get a manager. We waited 5 min and no manager came. Every table around us sent back at least one entree during our time there.
We enjoyed our dinner and the waiter was outstanding. We would recommend this restaurant to anyone on a special occasion with a beautiful view.
Enjoyed the food, service was great and the ambience was dreamy!
Beautiful view of the bay and fall colors and the restaurant took every step to ensure a safe and healthy environment for dining. Food was visually appealing and scrumptious! Our waiter was helpful and very attentive to our needs.
The food was great. Due to Covid 19 restrictions, the seating was socially distant, but we were seated in a booth across the aisle from the window where there was a couple seated. With the lower amount of people in the restaurant, we felt literally on top of them and could hear every word they said. It was a little awkward.
Celebrated 4 birthdays! We were not impressed with the cocktails; the cosmopolitan was extremely sour and lacked alcohol. Food and apps, salads, beef barley soup were delicious, ambiance was great, but no attention to the celebrations. Server was dynamic in personality, but they didn’t have enough servers to provide attention to tables. Server would disappear and not return back for a while. I would return because the quality of food was delicious!
Good was great, service was slow and not that great.
Great views and spectacular service. Really enjoyed the steak!
We always visit Aerie Restaurant for special occasions. This visit was for my 1 year anniversary for being retired. The entire restaurant staff signed a nice card and presented it to me at the end of the meal. Their thoughtfulness topped off a perfect evening.
Food is always delicious and served in a timely fashion.
We had a great dinner Saturday night! Our waiter was perfect, and our drinks were delicious. Definitely will be back!
Everything was awesome!
The chef was able to make me a delicious dish that was vegan and gluten free!
The food and atmosphere were great! Our server was attentive and very helpful. The view from the restaurant was gorgeous! We will definitely return when in TC.
The filet is always great, as are their seafood specials. The dinner menu is limited but the variety of foods is great. Our waitstaff was wonderful, we are always taken care of in great fashion.
Not enough food for the price but the taste and service were great.
Everything was incredible-the food, the service, and the view. We had a very memorable and spectacular dinner.
