We went for my boyfriend's birthday and had a fantastic time. The service and ambiance were warm, and the food was creative and intriguing while still providing the comfort that I expect from Italian food.

This was one of the best meals I ever had. Started with two amuse bouche. Both were great. Then a crazy celery root and parmesan Budino that I thought was great and might be the best thing of the evening. Never had anything like that. Then, had the confit duck egg, grilled chicory, cauliflower, truffle balsamic. Then I thought this would be the best dish of the evening. But I gave up and just let the deliciousness wash over me. King Crab, ridged pasta in foie gras, the most tender wage beef I ever had, a tort filled with truffled cheese, and so on. It was a really good meal. Good pace. Desserts were spot on. And the service. It was really good. Like a dance when they served and picked up the dishes. Choreographed. And the waiters actually know the dishes and could answer questions. Wine was good and the sommelier knew his tuff. The wine was good, but did not always match what I expected. Good to try new things. Some were spot on to me. Others were lost on the dish and you could not taste.

I wish I had the money to go often, but alas, I do not. One time shot for a special night out. Worth it.

Sublime, a gracious entrance to a hushed space. The colors uplifting and warm. The gilded ceiling beams invites one to dine, to enjoy, to indulge. Every bite delicious and unique, enjoy!

Amazing food, go for the tasting menu if you want a gastronomic extravaganza, but also have 3.5 hours to spare. Worth every penny :)

We love this place. Loved it the first time and loved it each time since. I believe the food is very delicious and creative. The service is extraordinary and very personal. I have food allergies and I did call ahead to let them know, and the chef and staff were very attentive to that. Yes, it’s not inexpensive, but for me the experience is worth it.

Could not be much better. A real SF gem! Food is exquisite in both it's taste and presentation. The Julia Morgan dining room is beautiful and tasteful. And I love it that jackets are still required ( ties optional ).

A truly exquisite culinary experience is always what one receives at this fantastic establishment. The best time to visit is during white truffle season, where the very best white truffles are imported direct from Italy and not spared on any dish. The tasting menu, Including several special treats from the chef, was 15 courses of food. Add a bottle or two of the finest Italian grapes from the superb wine list and you might just have the best meal of your life. Or, At the very least, the best meal in recent memory. The service is friendly and attentive. The ambience is classy and utterly romantic. Certainly, a must try.

The ambiance is the best....beautiful decor, very quiet and the food is to die for
We had the Lobster and potato gnocchi with truffle butter, foie gras pasta (melted in your mouth)
Spinach 'Creste di Galli' with Wagyu beef Bolognese, whey, mint to start and had the lamb, the tuna and the halibut. All served perfectly and delicious. The presents were divine
The co owner and chef Chef Suzette Gresham-Tognetti made my birthday cake and visited us at the table. What a wonderful treat as there are only 3 women on the 2 star Michelin list and suzette is one of them.
Wine list had some great Italian cabaret sauvignon selections that were reasonably priced.

I love this restaurant as it has everything you could ask for and more.

Outstanding Restaurant and Dining Experience. We have been coming to Acquerello for many years. It is a hidden jewel in SF. The food, service and ambiance is great and very unique. I would recommend this as one of the top restaurants in SF and should not be missed.

Phenomenal experience, the service was superb, the ambience divine (it’s a former chapel). We ordered the 5 course regular tasting menu with wine pairing not the seasonal l) - and oh it was amazing. Sommelier food and wait staff would miraculously appear, beautiful artful and delectable dishes and wine - course after course - and the night was made special. The bill is not for the faint of heart - but this was worth every last penny. Kudos to the establishment, chef and staff.

Great Wine pairing. The sommelier, Rafa, was a rockstar. The food was good, but we didn't eat anything that really blew our minds - for a restaurant with 2 Michelin stars, I have to say I expected way more from the food taste - they played with textures and the presentations were pretty, but the overall flavors were just alright.

Meal was poorly timed. Food courses arrived 10-15 mins after each wine pairing pour. Gaps between courses ranged wildly between 2 to 20 minutes. Not expected from a 2* Michelin restaurant.

This is the most elegant restaurant! The service was outstanding, the attention to detail amazing and the food was superb. Everything from the moment we walked in to the moment we left could not have been better. This is truly the restaurant you want for a special occasion.

Fantastic food, top-of-the-line service and a small/cozy dining area. If on a date, you can request half-moon tables that allow you to sit next to each other! Wine list is extraordinary and the staff is all incredibly knowledgable and friendly.

Everything would of been perfect with the exception of a few gnats flying around our table. We had the five course pre fixed menu and every dish was delicious. Usually when choosing the pre fixed or seasonal menu at theses Michelin Star restaurants, there are always a few courses that are unremarkable but every dish we had that evening was delicious. With that said, folks that are new to fine dining should start there since it’s very safe and not really pushing any boundaries. We would definitely dine there again. We will just have to wear a bee keepers outfit next time to avoid the flying bugs.

Disappointing experience. Ran out of seasonal tasting menu for late reservation. Only the lobster gnocchi and tomato raviolo were good. Everything else was just mediocre and salty. Service could be a little better. Took them forever to bring out the bread. They brought the bread out after they brought out the two amuse bouche. I don't know if they did that on purpose or not. Didn't love it. Won't be coming back or recommend it to my friends.
