Great food for the 4 of us for brunch outside in the parklets. Food came out together and hot and was very tasty. Everyone at our table was happy with their choices. Cocktails were good. Overall good experience and will be back. Happy supporting the city to get back up and running.
Food was delicious, service was great. Outdoor setting well-designed, with heat lamps and each table well-separated. Parking easy in Performing Arts garage. As would be expected, a bit too much street noise, but otherwise outstanding. Can’t wait to go back!
Wanted their hamburger. The menu is too limited.
Great food and service, just tough sometimes sitting alonsgside Gough as the cars are really noisy/honking and random loud people walk by
Well, it's not the old Absinthe. Too much stripped from the indoors experience in moving it outdoors, starting with the limited menu. Looking forward to a return to the good old days.
The menu for brunch was a little skimpy. But the French onion soup was fantastic, the buckwheat crepes were marvelous, other members of my family enjoyed the quiche and duck confit. We wanted a croque miseure (sp) or madame and that was possible.
Great all around.
Great food along with wonderful service.
I was very happy they finally opened and I could do va k
Absinthe always delivers. The food is thoughtful and scrumptious, the ambiance delightful ( even the parklet is lovely) and the service is perfect and friendly. Martine is the ultimate professional.
I really enjoyed the food. We had the Miyagi oysters, the steak tartare and the steak frites. Everything was really delicious and service was good.
They did a great job for being outdoors. The menu is different and smaller but everything was excellent as always. One of my favorite places in SF. Wonderful staff as well.
Service was inexplicably, painfully SLOW. Though their Covid dining restrictions require customers to vacate the table after 90 minutes, we weren’t even served our main course until after waiting 90 minutes. The 1 cocktail and 1 beer were served within a reasonable delay, but we had to beg after about half an hour of waiting for our bottle of wine. The outside tables were a great set up, though the occasional hot rod zoomed by loudly. Glad we ordered several appetizers because the young children basically ate those as their dinner!
Always a great restaurant. Can't wait until we can dine inside again!
Excellent Service. Delicious Food. Perfection! Thank you!
Perfect Frites! Excellent service - outside dining worked!
Service was a bit slow but the food was amazing and the drinks came out quick ! Great park let set up. Would go again. Just with the service time in mind. :D
Such a great place to dine! The staff were so friendly too!
Great service and a good time. They just reopened, so I can't wait for them to have the full menu for brunch. :)
Restaurant had just opened a few days prior. Menu was limited but all else excellent.
A little cold outside, but glad to support Absinthe on its first day back! Wish you all the very best and safe serving!
Delicious citrus salad so tasty waiters great love this place
Absinthe is back (March 24) and what a joy it is to have this French-inspired restaurant open once again. The outdoor dining makes you truly believe you're in Paris - white tablecloths, French music and you can even bring your dogs (just like Paris). The menu is pared down from the normal menu but there's plenty from which to choose, including the legendary French onion soup and chocolate pot de creme. Go now!
The food and service were exceptional. Cocktails, appetizers, entrees and dessert. What a treat!
Lovely dinner. Server was delightful. Food was excellent.
The food had outstanding flavor. One of the best restaurant experiences in recent times. I would definitely go back
excellent food in an exceptionally beautiful setting - it is always a pleasure to dine at Absinthe
An extremely nice dining experience. Restaurant was very crowded on a Friday evening, but we were shown to our table right away and greeted by our wait person very cordially and given information on the dinner and wine choices in a friendly and helpful manner. Food was well prepared, served and enjoyed. Wine selections were fairly priced and good. Dessert was shared by my guest and myself. Good value for a very nice environment, food, and service !
Absinthe continues to bring richly flavorful, excellently prepared, soul-satisfying food in generous portions. I love dining here.
Great meal and service! We will be back!
Great onion soup.
The service was terrible. We arrived at 5:45, got our first course shortly thereafter and did not receive our second course until 45 minutes after we were done with our first course, despite repeated inquiries. The salmon with potato crust was mediocre and overpriced.
A completely overrated operation.
No atmosphere, no decor, everything is bare. No table cloth. It’s like a simple bar.
I was so embarrassed to bring my guest into your house.
Onion soup was overcooked, small order. The tartar was poor quality too.
I don’t think I will return. Sorry
Great place, great food. Save it for a special night!
I enjoyed a wonderful business luncheon with my two coworkers. We sat next to the window and had a great view of the neighborhood scene. Our server was really great and friendly. Our food choices were all excellent. Salmon, tartare, croque monsieur, french onion soup and caesar salad along with a bottle of Champagne. Ambiance was very relaxing. I will definitely go back again soon. I wish we stopped at the bar for our final drink.
The fish en papillote was superb, every bite of it as was the pasta.
Was a wonderful birthday lunch!
I have been dining at Absinthe for over 25 years. Today I joined friends for brunch. I had the Mushroom Omelette which I rank as the best omelette I have had in my life. That even includes dining in Paris.
Some of my favorites are the French Onion Soup as well as the Croque Monsieur. I also enjoy their half cracked Dungeness crab along with a Cesar salad.
Ordered their Absinthe burger cooked MEDIUM. Waiter confirmed. When I received it, it was RARE with bright red interior. Took 15 minutes to flag someone since they are understaffed. Waitress asked if I want it cooked more or want a new burger. I told her new burger cooked medium. The waiter who took my order delivered it 15 minutes later without an apology. Any time this has happened at previous restaurants they offer free dessert or don’t change. I got the full bill with no apology.
Can I give a 6th star for service? They were attentive without being intrusive.
one of the most beautiful and comfortable dinning rooms in the City - the bar is fun and vibrant -the new chef has made some great menu changes and the food is excellent - it is always such a pleasure to be at Absinthe
