This was a spontaneous find. Great food & awesome service. The decor could use some updating but that didn’t deter from the wonderful dining experience with our dear friends celebrating both our 25th wedding anniversaries.
Very good, but the price point has hit a threshold at which the food should really be amazing.
The best prime rib I’ve ever had! We arrived a little early but the staff was very polite and accommodated our early arrival. Our servers were professional and friend. The drinks were strong, just the way I like them. I’ve been here three times now and I would recommend this place to anyone!!
Whenever I want the best prime rib and service the Aberdeen Barn is the place to go. I can always rely on the Barn to be first rate for any special occasion. They receive my highest recommendation and always have!
Everything tasted really good. Everyone was helpful explaining the menu and helping us choose some nice wine.
Walked in and we were seated immediately. The waiter was polite and friendly. Quick service. Food was hot and delicious. Great time spend with even better friends.
Hadn’t been in quite awhile, standards seem to have fallen quite a bit. Service was questionable, food was cold. Expect far more for the cost.
It was great as usual. Another beautiful anniversary dinner. thanks
Always a wonderful experience! It's our favorite place to go.
Prime rib is a must!! Service is always great too!!
Best prime rib in Virginia. Atmosphere is of a traditional steak house, low lighting, wood paneling, and red banquets. Only complaint is that I was grossly overcharged for my two cocktails. Service was efficient and very attentive.
VERY OVERPRICED, used to LOVE this Restuarant , however Cost overrides and Smaller portains prevent Us from re-turning
Food was outstanding. Well worth the money. Service was great. We will be back!
Aberdeen Food was so good we returned the next night to eat it again!
The food was delicious and everyone of the staff was friendly and wonderful
The food and service was exceptional. We will definitely be returning, hopefully soon!
Our group had a blast. Our server James was beyond excellent! Prime rib was perfect. Gonna be a regular now that I live nearby.
You always know what to expect there as nothing ever changes - nothing except maybe the wait staff. They do know how to cook some excellent beef there! I only wish that they would offer something different once in a while - specials of some kind to deviate from the standard menu. This is one of our go to places for celebrations. The other is that German place in Madison that I should probably not name. They also have the same standard menu but there are always multiple specials nightly to offer up some change.
The waitstaff at the Barn is always attentive and they strive to make sure your experience is great - this is one of the reasons I like going there.
This Charlottesville landmark lives up
To its reputation. The petite filet and scallops were very good and the service was wonderful. Ps the bartender made an excellent lemon drop martini 🍸
My finace and I were in town celebrating her birthday. We found Aberdeen Barn and it was an amazing experience. We made reservations at 8 we were seating as soon as we walked in. Waitress was courteous and knowledgeable. For starters we were brought pretzels with cheese. Our salads were great. But the hit of the night was my ribeye. It was covered with a blue cheese butter sauce. It was out of this world. The steak was cooked perfectly and tender. Amazing flavor. My finace got the prime rib and it was just as amazing. Then dessert was another treat with warm pecan pie al a mode and a flourless chocolate cake with sauce. It was a little pricey but you get what you pay for and it was worth every penny. We will be going back!!
We took our friends to dinner that can sometimes be “high maintenance” and the staff didn’t skip a beat. They accommodated every request and when a couple of unexpected guests joined us for a quick drink they didn’t even bat an eye. The food is fantastic but I always feel that it’s the staff that makes the Aberdeen Barn so special to us.
Food & service were excellent! Decor is still very dated but won’t stop a return.
Great food, great service and friendly environment!
Food taste was not exceptional, and my portion was much smaller than expected. Prices were definitely not consistent with the quantity and quality of the food I received. The service was decent, but not "unforgettable" by any means. So, if you want to pay a premium for run of the mill food, Aberdeen Barn is the place for you.
Good waitress. Table in bar side. Food excellent. Eat there often. It id superb in all aspect
Always great food and great service!
Service was good so as the food!. Can you just get me stuffed olives with blue cheese for my Martin!. But other wise everything was great.
I have been eating here on special occasions for over four decades. Aberdeen Barn never disappoints. The service is most pleasant, the steaks are awesome, the smiles are rich, and all is well. I hope to be eating here for decades to come!
Parents night out 2020
Wanted a special restaurant to dine at before a concert. It was wonderful! Staff was very accommodating; although young, very polite! The meals were amazing and cooked to perfection!
My group and I were visiting from out of town. We were recommended this place by one of the hotel staff. They let us know this was one of the best steak places in town, and they had the best Prime Rib. We were not disappointed! Our server Jim was awesome. Funny, sweet, and welcoming. He made the experience so much better.
The prime rib was phenomenal. We each had a different meal and a couple bottles of wine. My team was over the moon about the quality of the food.
We wanted to go back every night we were here. We can't say enough about this!
The Aberdeen Barn for prime rib and steak! There is no substitute.
The food and service is excellent. No other way to put it.
The decor is a throwback -- wood-paneled walls, wagon-wheel chandeliers, etc. Some will love that; others might not.
The prices are pretty high. The steaks start around $40. The bill for four of us (including one bottle of wine, but no dessert) was more than $200, before the tip. We saw one young couple get seated, look over the menu, and leave -- presumably with a bad case of sticker shock. Unless you are "of means," the Aberdeen Barn is more of a special treat than a regular haunt.
Delicious as always! First time I had the lamb chops and they were excellent.
I ordered my ribeye medium well and all I could taste was char. I asked for horseradish and used that to cover up the taste. So many people had recommended Aberdeen Barn and we were excited to try it, but were ultimately disappointed. The bacon bits that came with the wedge salad and baked potato looked like they were out of a bag from Oscar Meyer. You really should have real bacon bits. I also found it frustrating that the only starchy sides were some form of potato. And that there was a $3 charge for mashed potatoes! I dont mind paying top dollar for a nice steakhouse, but it should be pretty close to perfect and this was not! The pecan pie was delicious, however with the strawberry shortcake there was something freezer burned. Additionally, parking was atrocious, we ended up at the hotel across the street and just had to pray we didn't get towed. Expected a lot more from this establishment.
Food (steaks prime rib filet Mignon) all excellent service very professional food came out timely
This experience is well worth the price. Excellent service and great food/drinks. Be prepared for low lighting (use your phone flashlight if you have trouble seeing), but the lighting creates a romantic and cozy atmosphere.
Very good food and ambiance. Old school feel without a run down feel. Service was prompt and friendly overall however a little rushed. That being said will definitely return and I highly recommend to others.
We had a reservation on Valentines Day and our Anniversary. We arrived 15 minutes early and were seated immediately. Wait staff was phenomenal and owner stopped by to check on us. Great night. Great food.
Best beef as always! Nothing compares - not the Greenbrier, not the Homestead. It was true 50 years ago returning from Vietnam Nam and it was true again this Valentine’s Day. It makes C’ville a special place.
