The porterhouse was delicious. Everything was yummy but I left too full!
Hostess tried to seat us near bathroom when the restaurant was empty and I had made a reservation. Why do you do this?
Service was impeccable food was fabulous and attention to detail unsurpassed. On a scale of 1 to 10 it was an 11!
Food was fantastic! Service impeccable! You can’t go wrong here at Abe & Louie’s. Outstanding service, will come back here again. The Prime Ribeye was the most delicious thing I’ve ever tasted
I went to Abe and Louies for Valentines Day, and there was a massive crowd of people waiting for their reservation. We only ended up waiting 15 minutes after our scheduled reservation time to be seated, but others waited longer. They also brought out a different type of bread than their usual, which my boyfriend was very sad about. Overall, great food but their preparation for a holiday could've been better.
Our server was fantastic but I had a “bonus card” that I didn’t know expired in 3 months. It really should say it in the email.. VERY disappointed. I don’t think I’ll be back.
Great, as always. A must go.
Great atmosphere and food
This is a very great place to celebrate festivals or anniversaries, the service is good and food worth the price.
Wish they would bring back the hot buttery rolls . Otherwise everything was great as usual .
Wonderful Valentine’s Day meal. From the friendly cost check woman, to our server and everyone in between - friendly and genuinely wanted us to enjoy our evening. And we did - fantastic streak and creative sides. The carrots with mint, feta and harrisa -YUM! I don’t eat streak often, but when I do, it has to be great. Abe & Louie’s is worth the caloric and financial splurge!
Restaurant staff was very kind and friendly. The food was amazing and the waitress was professional and intelligent. Can’t wait to come back.
It is a wonderful restaurant. It is a bit pricy but the service and ambiance is the finest. I highly recommend for a special crlebration or occasion. Not the kind of restaurant one can frequent on a regular basis unless you are finanally well off!
Every Valentine’s Day we try a new Boston steak house. We have eaten at many, but this year was Abe & Louie’s. The place was packed and very loud. We could barely have conversation across the table. The service staff was excellent. Very attentive and knowledgeable. My steak was average. I was expecting more from a high-end steakhouse. The beef carpaccio was a very tasty appetizer and worth it for two people. I ordered the 24oz bone-in ribeye and she the 8oz filet and lobster. My ribeye was a little rough, though she loved her meal which had a lot of lobster meat. We shared the sweet potato fries, garlic mashed and Mac and cheese which were good. We each had a few drinks which were very good and strong. For $240 before tip, I would have preferred the Capital Grille or Del Frisco’s. Not bad by any means, but below expectations for a Boston steakhouse. In my opinion.
Celebrating Valentine’s Day.
Waiter and sommelier were excellent! All my guests enjoyed the experience!
An absolutely delightful evening for Arleen and me, everything was most pleasant.
Next time in Boston it will be a must visit.
The best restaurant! We love Abe & Louie’s when we are visiting our college kids we always dine here!
The rib-eye was not good. I explain it to the manager and he did not charge for it.
Went for brunch: service and food were awesome. Servers handled last- minute changes well. Definitely recommend.
Sunday brunch was very crowded and there was a wait even though we had reservation. It's worth the wait, food was delicious especially the Benedict trio. Also the steak and eggs were a hit with the male members of my family due to large portions.
Though disappointed that it was not a Sunday Jazz brunch food was good though ...
had indicated celebration on reservation though no mention at end of meal - as in the past had been given dessert
The waitress was very nice, she treated our daughter with Birthday cake! The cauliflower steak is a must for us every time we are in Boston!!
Food was delicious as always but missing the warm buttered rolls (bring them back!) Service was much better during my first visit compared to this night, but still good. We sat upstairs which was a bit quieter, however, near the windows it was quite drafty and the couple next to us had it so bad they were wearing their coats during dinner. I would recommend Abe and Louie's because of the quality of the food, but it was missing a little something this time.
Had a party of 10 and was seated downstairs. Felt like a private room. Great time
Overall a very nice restaurant. Food was good but the price point for it I did not believe was worth it. It is more so a place to go maybe once a year to celebrate something.
Just the best steak house in Boston. Every time
I head in town and try other restaurants Abe’s is always the benchmark for comparison
Rare I have found another better than Abe’s
Steaks are the draw but everything else is great as well. Great service and staff are all pro’s
We’ve eaten at Abe and Louie’s on many occasions and have never been disappointed by the ambiance, service and delicious food.
We had a wonderful evening with great food and exceptional service. We were celebrating a birthday and they presented us with a fabulously generous dessert sampler that was more than enough for 4 people. The choc cake, Key Lime pie and vanilla ice cream were all top notch. I would definitely recommend this spot for a celebration or just for a special night out. The service was phenomenal from start to finish. That makes such a difference in the overall experience. Keep it up!!
Table was ready on time our waiter kenny was awesome chatted when he could food was very very good
Always excellent food and service. Premium price. Great experience albeit a little loud either side of 7pm for conversation. A class act!
Steak & Tomato salad was just OK. Seak was a bit over cooked and not that flavorful.
Great atmosphere, food was really good, However not as good as other steak houses in the city with similar prices meats.
Went to Abe and Louie's for a birthday brunch. Setting is neat, with a lot of dark wooden features and white tablecloths. Nice and bright on early Sunday afternoon, not too playful and not too serious. The service was absolutely incredible but found that the brunch options were extremely traditional and felt a little bit limited. Looking at the menu, it seems like their specialty is high-quality cuts of meat - more of a lunch or dinner spot. One member of my party had a tuna burger - said it was great. Would not recommend for brunch, but curious about other food options.
We were visiting from CA and celebrating my husband’s bday! Reservations were made here and mentioned that there is a birthday
The hostess tried sitting us at a tiny table at the entrance where no one would have chosen to sit so I asked to be moved, then moved us to another tiny table in a corner with a wall blocking it then i asked to be moved again to another table the would be more pleasant, but I was given attitudes but finally moved to a bigger table that was available.
Got a bottle of wine and specified that we are celebrating a birthday and our sever acknowledged it! We only saw our server when he took our order and when the food was finished... he asked if we would like to get a desert we decided not to order any... he brought the check we paid and as he was taking the check back another person was bringing a small cake with a candle but i guess since we paid and the server wanted us out of there he told the guy to take the cake back!!!! Its not about the cake its about the service that if you are asking if there’s an occasion then you show some appreciation to your customers for celebrating in your restaurant!
We did not complain to anyone just bc I do not like the feeling of putting anyone down especially that our server was an elder gentleman, but in over all I expected more from this restaurant especially that we decided to celebrate my husband’s bday there while visiting Boston!
Food was not good, I got halibut special it was burnt and flavorless with raw butternut squash risotto, disappointing. Sautéed spinach tasted rancid. Cheesecake desert was about all I ate which was good. Waiter was wonderful, I don’t like to complain and didn’t say a word about awful good. In future we would elect to go to another high end restaurant and not come back.
The service was phenomenal! Our meal was incredibly delicious and we were never left wanting for anything. Prompt and efficient waiter with a very nice demeanor. Overall, the meal was quite expensive, but you get what you pay for! One of my very favorite restaurants!
Great for steak but seafood not so much (it is a steakhouse after all). Also - the restaurant was very warm inside so don't wear your heaviest sweater.
Food, as always, is excellent. Sure wish you still had the warm butter rolls.
