steak is so salty
Although the food was really good, one of the receptionists was rude and the restaurant was really noisy
Tried the onion soup after reading the great reviews and was not disappointed. Also had crab cake that is always delicious. Split porterhouse for two which was perfectly cooked and tender and tasty. Added blue cheese mashed for a side - yummy. Nice chocolate layer cake given as complimentary dessert for my birthday boy husband. Always one of our favorite restaurants!!! Service excellent as well.
Abe’s is one of our long time favorites. But on Saturday night, the onion soup, hash browns and seething potato fries all came out burnt! Steak was very good tho. Service was outstanding. Never had to go upstairs before but it was actually quite nice!
The whole dining experience made my parents 50th Anniversary complete!! Thank you to all of staff!! Memories 4 Life!!
Ever thing was awesome. However the wife and I had stomach pains . We had the sirloin strip and lamb. Do they put any type of spices on the meat. When eat steak at home I do not have this problem.???
Our waiter was fantastic and the food was amazing.
The food and service were both terrific at this business lunch.
We had a great meal starting with a 2lb. lobster perfectly prepared and de-shelled (for us Midwesterners). Seriously excellent bone in filet, and of course service was great as usual. The Key Lime pie was as good as it gets and I have been all over the keys to find the best.
Superb meal on a trip to Boston with a co-worker! I had the sea bass which was cooked perfectly and she had a fantastic filet mignon.
Had the veal chop. Should have gone filet, like my son. Expected better for price paid , The Palm or Smith n Wolinski’s is better.
Best steak house in boston
Overall unimpressed with this visit to Abe & Louie's. Have been there before with good service, this unfortunately was not the case this time. The Host stand gave an impression of "why are you here, what do you want" and the waiter clearly wanted to be somewhere else. The person busing the table, including refilling water was kind and polite. Overall, a disappointing dining experience.
Also recommend requesting a table far away from the bar area, as it was too loud/hectic even though we weren't in the bar itself.
My wife and I loved every aspect of our dinner. Our appetizers were excellent and our steaks were fabulous as were our deserts. We will return when we are next in Boston and we will recommend your restaurant to our friends.
Wait staff very pleasant experience was very relaxing snd meal was delicious!
Great place for a great meal, great wine and great conversation. Loved the staff and the environment. Very professional and not at all snobby or pretentious.
Abe and Louie was great! I will definitely be back.
This restaurant isn't what it used to be, even down to the bread baskets. For the price there's many better places to go. I haven't been here in years and decided to celebrate my birthday there this year. I was pretty wholly disappointed. Food is nothing to write home about especially for the price.
60th Birthday and we were so well looked after!
What a huge disappointment! I made the reservation and noted we were celebrating our anniversary. We were sat upstairs at a tiny table in between 2 other couples. One of which was very loud and using vulgar language. The seating was so tight. My husband even got elbowed in the head by a manager who was talking to the table behind him. The manager wasn't even going to acknowledge what he had done until my husband turned around to see who had elbowed him. He said "Oh sorry" and continued to talk. Our server was extremely inattentive. We had to ask the busboy to find her for us on more that one occasion. She was too busy chatting with a manager and showing him pictures on her phone. The food was probably the biggest disappointment of all. The steak was dry and flavorless. The blue cheese mashed potatoes had huge clumps of blue cheese in them. It was completely over powering. The asparagus was limp and not crispy at all. The Chilean sea bass was just ok, nothing special. We used to dine here regularly. We haven't been in a few years. Wow has this place gone downhill! It's a shame because the food and service used to me the best around. Needless to say, we will not be returning.
Food was very good but my only complaint would be the place was very noisy with tables quite close together . They really should make an effort to improve this .
We didn’t get all of our left over French fries and Brussels sprouts
My wife and I were in town for Doctor appointment at Dana Farber Cancer Institute. I had dined a Briccos in May during my business trip to Heart Rhythm Society Convention. Wanted my wife to experience Briccos
My go to place while visiting Boston. Always an outstanding meal with a busy but comfortable atmosphere. Casual dress code but jersey friendly. My last experience did fall short of outstanding with the service I received. Overall my server was below average and did not engage in the service. Support staff was very good though. Will defiantly return and recommended.
This is a 1st class restaurant imo! It never disappoints! Well done
Always a great steak at Abe & Louie’s. I’ve never had a bad meal here.
Outstanding. Fantastic wine list with an incredibly knowledgeable sommelier. Tuna Tartare appetizer was amazing, clam chowder was everything you would expect it to be and more and I highly recommend the creamed corn as a side dish. They use Colorado lamb for their lamb chop entree which was a very welcome delight. US lamb is much more expensive than it's New Zealand counterpart and much milder in flavor. The chops were cooked to tender perfection and one of the best dishes I've ever had. My companions had the bone in rib eye and 2 pound lobster which they both raved about. I can't recommend this restaurant enough!
Have been here many times. Always a great experience.
Great Boston steakhouse, never fails to deliver. Always return when visiting Boston.
Only problem the booth was to small to fit in. But they gave us a new table and all
was outstanding. Great time and everyone was very friendly. Thanks
I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. We were in Boston for a conference and found 1 free night that we could have a date night. From making the reservation on open table, being greeted with warm smiles, to meeting our waiter and the amazing meal we had, I’d give this place 10 stars if I could. From appetizers to dessert, everything came out perfect and our waiter (Kenneth) was a doll. His recommendations were spot on perfect and we enjoyed everything about this experience. Well trained staff, attentive management and amazing chefs made Abe & Louie’s my favorite restaurant in Boston. Whenever life brings us back to bean town, I’ll be eating at Abe & Louie’s!
When you go to Abe & Louis expect a high time, especially of Ken is your server. The food is impeccable, and there is plenty of eye candy to devour as well. Drinks come fast and are well made. Abe & Louis is a consistent great experience.
Perfect steakhouse experience!
If you like Steak then look no further!!
We had 3 different steaks and 1 Salmon, all were amazing (no need for condiments) the steaks alone were juicy and cooked to perfection!
Our waitstaff was exceptional, great personality and humour.
Simply the best, most consistent steak house in Boston
Loved the brunch and great to eat outside on a beautiful day. Thabks
Bday, noisy but great food.
Delicious!! Everything to perfection!
Our waiter Donny was fantastic too!!
We go every time we’re in Boston!
The cocktails are generous and creative. The wine list has a wide range of prices and types. The oysters tonite were very meaty. Followed by a small cup of french onion soup with the perfect balance of bread, onions and cheese - and thank goodness, not too salty. I had the delmonico steak, cooked as I asked. My husband had the lamb chops - his only negative comment was there was too much fat. He would have preferred it was trimmed prior to cooking. Coffee and peach crisp (large pieces of peach) finish off a great experience. The place is always packed - so get reservations early.
Abe’s used to have the best brunch in Boston. Since my first visit a few years ago, I’ve kept coming back for the potato and bacon omelette and delicious bread. Most recently, when I lived down the street, I’d go as often as every Sunday. Unfortunately after I moved to the other side of town I haven’t had a chance to return. I was therefore excited to bring my parents here when they were visiting. Unfortunately, our experience did not live up to my expectations. First of all the server, while very nice, did not bring us bread until after our food was served and I asked about it. Furthermore the bread was not the delicious brown sugar, almost dessert like bread, I have gotten every single time in the past. Instead it was a grab bag of randomly assorted dry bread items, not even enough to go around the table. Most items came as one. Furthermore, the omelette that I’ve had many times before was incredibly dry and overdone. It had absolutely no flavoring whatsoever, there were hardly any potatoes, and the overall presentation was lacking. Unfortunately this was not the experience I was expecting, and to be honest, not really worth the price this time around.
