Abe & Louie’s is a MUST stop every time I’m in Boston, whether with family and friends or on business. The food has always been impeccable; the service has never disappointed. Eating a steak at Abe & Louie’s is every bit as satisfying as watching the Sox at Fenway!
Fantastic experience as always
We had a large party. Everything was great. I would recommend it to others looking for a nice dining experience.
Great restaurant and food! Unfortunately, I forgot my credit card (last place used) but it was not given to management. Sad that you cannot trust people but I can’t give the restaurant a bad review.
John was a great waiter. Service staff are very attentive and personal. The food is top notch. I chose this spot from the internet for a weekend getaway in Boston. With all the choices in Boston, I’m glad we ended up here! We had oysters, ribeye, bone in filet, asparagus, swordfish, lobster Mac and cheese, “abe and louie’s“ salad, raspberry sorbet, some cocktails and a bottle of wine.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. However, our waitress was only fair. Didn't really greet us, we had to ask about specials, we also had to confirm that she was going to be our waitress. She did not really engage with us either.
Excellent food quality as expected. Long delays in service for which manager apologized and reduced the bill. Table for 7 placed very near the street with open walls made conversation almost impossible, despite having some empty tables near the back of the restaurant
Nice reataurant with good meat and good side dishes.
Well worth the cost. Much more casual than they said online, but that was fine with us. They by age excellent wine list and choices, plus waiter very attentive. I would try the French onion soup and my filet melted in my mouth. First time in Biston and this restaurant did not disappoint.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our server Anthony was great!
Abe & Louie's is (in my humble opinion) one of the absolute finest steak houses in Boston. Steaks are always aged and cooked to perfection and never over seasoned. In addition, the seafood is always fresh and every variety of sides to complete the dining experience. With their extensive wine list, you will have no difficulties finding a wine to pair perfectly with the meal choice.
If in Boston, you cannot pass this restaurant up.
When in Boston a Must Go To! Perfect Meal 100%! Perfect Service 100%!
5 stars +
What else can be said about Abe & Lou's! It's an institution at this point. Great food and atmosphere. If you haven't been to Abe & Lou's yet then you don't know Boston!
Met with some friends who have never been! They loved it!
Love It!! Service spectacular!! Food is always amazing !!
Great good. Steak was awesome.......celebrated my sons 48th birthday.
It was great I love the adult vibe
Great food in a great atmosphere of outdoor dining. Steak and seafood were awesome.
Sam and Kenny still have us laughing............The steaks were yummy....Thanks for the
pre-birthday wishes. Next time I'm looking for steak in Boston, I'm coming back to Abe&Louie's....
Abe and Louie's is always a must when we travel to Boston. If you love steaks, this is the place for you. The steaks are divine and the creamed corn is my favorite as are the hash browns. One of our guests had the lobster and it was delicious. The price point is on the higher side so be prepared. While we have visited several times, the service was a bit off during our recent visit and our party of 6 was placed at an unusually large table which made it difficult for conversation. That said, I will visit again on my next Boston trip!
We celebrated special Boston occasion Friday and had a great dinner. Big portions on all items though so the 3 of us could've split 2 entrees.
The wedge salad was fresh and lettuce crisp. NY Strip steak made to perfection. Superb garlic mashed potato.
One of my favorite places in Boston, if not my favorite. Service, atmospheres and food are fantastic. Highly recommend.
Lamb was yummy, rib eye was huge, cauliflower purée was fabulous as was the caprese salad. We ordered too much food as the veggies are big servings. Chocolate cake was also enough for 4 people.
The food was overall very good. One item was overly spicy, and we made an offhand comment about it. It was removed from our bill without discussion or a request. The service was exceptionally attentive and each of the dishes were very good (the bacon, French onion soup, crab cake, filet/New York strip/dry-aged ribeye, mashed potatoes and creamed corn). We were surprised by the noise level for our dinner reservation at 8 p.m. on a Thursday night when the bar was mostly empty. It made it difficult to have a conversation amongst ourselves. We would certainly go back in the future.
Wonderful service & delicious food cooked exactly as requested. Servers worked together to make my experience truly memorable.
Everything was wonderful Our server Matthew was friendly and outgoing. The food was amazing. I got the Caprese salad and 8 oz filet. The salad was fresh and delicious. The steak cooked perfectly. I ordered mine with a demi-glaze. Everyone at our table enjoyed their meals
What can I say..always a home run. The food is terrific but the service is better. Not rushed and got a lot of attention...keep up the great work
Everything about our dining experience was perfect!
I highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for an intimate and warm atmosphere, high quality, delicious food prepared and served by professionals.
Our waiter was outstanding!!!! A memorable evening!
My husband and I went for our wedding anniversary. The staff could not have been nicer. The food was fantastic, just as I would have expected from a top notched steak house. I would recommend this place to anyone who will listen. Can't wait to dine there again.
Most entrees are a la carte and way over priced. If you are charging prices like that, your waiters should at least have clean jackets on.
Our experience was great at Abe & Louie. Ambiance and customer service was great. Our server was very knowledgeable, meticulous, attentive and friendly. Food is pricey but totally worth it. We tried Aged Prime New York Sirloin (very moist and flavorful) and Bone-In Aged Prime Rib eye.
I did put a special request that we were coming for the first time for a birthday celebration and they went out of the way and served us with a chocolate cake slice and vanilla ice cream scoop on house. That was a really sweet gesture from them.
I would definitely recommend it !!
Very good food, pricey but worth it. The only bad item was the oysters, they were not very cold, though they were on ice and they were much larger than we expected. The crab cocktail was great and steaks flawless.
I found this restaurant online as it was rated as #1 in Massachusetts. Truly there is not anything to complain about. It was definitely above the normal budget amount. This was a special night out so the extra $ was absolutely worth every penny. Our server was Jeffrey, he was AWESOME!!!!! He was extremely personable and had great suggestions. Everything on the menu as well as the specials sounded so good. It was tough to pick. We will definitely being go back again when we are in Boston. Check it out!
Best steak in Boston! Friendly and professional wait staff. A +++
We had a great waiter Ken. Fantastic service, tremendous food. What more could a customer want.
I want to say that I"ve been going to Abe & Louie's for a long time! I've never had anything other than an excellent meal, but this was the first time that everything just seemed to be 'off'. I should've sent my dish back, unfortunately. I ordered the special fish (Halibut) they were offering and it came with a lobster risotto which was decent, but the fish itself was nearly burnt and some of the driest fish I've ever received at a restaurant. I thought I'd try something different and it didn't go so well. It was my mom's 70th birthday and although a manager took this info over the phone, and it was also noted via my OpenTable reservation, this was not acknowledged. We were getting ready to leave and I ran to the bathroom and tried to grab the waiter and I let him know. They did end up bringing a piece of cake out. Overall, it seems to have slipped. Service wasn't as concrete/precise/special as most times. We were seated at a table that was really tight for 6 adults. We switched tables and they took us upstairs, which was a bit better and we had more room. Overall, I think I'd recommend another option the next time around. It's a good amount of money to spend, and thinking about things now, I wish I had sent my meal back (which I never do).
Came here to celebrate a special occasion and we were not disappointed. Good thing we made a reservation, it was surprisingly packed on a Wednesday night. The waiter, Alex, was extremely helpful. Visited our table often, made sure we didn't have any confusion with the meal and ensured our dishes was prepared to our liking.
Started the dinner off with a sirloin steak tartare and a traditional wedge salad. The tartare was very delicious, definitely recommend. For entree, we decided to try the off-the-menu special, 16oz. bone-in filet mignon, and we were not disappointed. It was prepared perfectly, juicy and tender. We paired this with a Abe's Lobster Mac and Cheese side. This side is a must get!! Huge delicious lobster chunks mixed with the perfect amount of cheese. The restaurant surprised us with a chocolate cake and ice cream for dessert to top of this amazing dinner.
I will definitely come back to this restaurant, this is by far one of my favorite restaurant in Boston after this experience. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was super friendly. Thank you for making it an amazing night for us.
Nice location, wonderful service, good food. My husband and I were in Boston for a few days and were told this was the place to go. The scallop and shrimp risotto was delicious, but we found their steaks to be average.
great food and great service. It is Boston as you would expect, class, charm, and the patina of lively political debate with civility. We were there for lunch and it was just right
Great steaks and service. Great atmosphere. Kind of loud
