From the valet parking my vehicle to the reception area to being seated at a corner table on Father's Day, we had an absolutely wonderful afternoon complete with the finest wait staff in all of Boston. The food was cooked to perfection and the service was extraordinary. Would highly recommend to a Bostonian or visitor as a top 10 to do while in the city!!

Love Abe and Louie's Ate upstairs. Service was just ok. Wait staff was nice but nothing special. Seemed a bit off . We did appreciate them all though. Food was pretty good. Normally it's a superior experience but not this time. It was missing something

Abe & Louis' is typically very good and we go there often. Perhaps it was because it was Father's Day; but we did not have our usually great experience. First, we were seated by the kitchen even though the room was empty (after refusing a table next to a stairwell) and on this day, the swordfish was over-cooked. Our steaks were good; but not as good as should have been for the price ($70 dollars for a steak?). We were having a good time so we went with it; service was excellent, but this visit was not as good as we had come to expect by A&L. Will go back, but not on Father's Day.

The food was excellent. We ordered from the Holiday Brunch menu. It was a little expensive but when the food is good, you don't mind spending a bit more than usual. My only negative would be the bench seats. Your sear and the seat behind you share the same frame. So when they move or get up or get down, you feel it as well.

We came to Boston for a relaxing dinner in what has become one of our favorite restaurants and Abe and Louie's continues to impress. Our 'normal' server was not in and Victoria took excellent care of us. For some reason I had thought to skip my normal crab cocktail and maybe try cold lobster. Apparently there were some new additions, and losses, recently to the menu. I mentioned my thought to Victoria that hadn't there been cold lobster as a choice and she agreed and said that she was sure the kitchen could accommodate the request; and they did, it was lovely. Since last fall when they added the rib eye cap steak that has been our standard; tonight we both order the same and as always they were cooked to perfection. Recently a local restaurant didn't have the wine we ordered but were recommended a Rioja; I had mentioned it to Matt and tonight he made a suggestion of one of their Rioja selections. It was amazing, so good we wanted Matt to try it, he agreed, Dave (wine also) smiled and praised it, even Mr. Sala (he leads this amazing restaurant) tried it with us and found it excellent. It's this all around service and the time people take with you that puts Abe and Louie's ahead of other steak houses in town. As I've mentioned before, if you look, what truely stands out is the quiet and efficient support supplied. This time Andreas took care of everything. The teamwork between the servers and their support is seamless providing an experience you look forward to. They had two special desserts but with all we had we decided to split on...I guess someone overheard our discussion because we were treated to both and they both were so good. Thank you all at Abe and Louie's for a perfect evening. Bill & Julie

Food was fine but the service was shockingly poor. The waitstaff were very slow at every step and they forgot to bring me my cocktail. It was not a good experience.

I took my father out for lunch to celebrate his retirement. We had a great time: wonderful food, attentive staff, and everything you’d expect for a high-caliber steakhouse.

Arrived at reservation on time and waited 35min to be seated while other parties continued to be seated ahead of us. Then waited over an hour to receive our entries which were not hot by the time we got them. While they did give us complementary apps and dessert, overall an unpleasant experience and not worth the wait.
