Buffet was good. Nice choices. Food could have been a bit warmer, but overall everything was good.

I wished I could tell you. When we got there for our birthday celebration, the restaurant was CLOSED. Needless to say I was quite upset as I was bringing my friend there.

This breakfast buffet is a great value with lots of high-quality choices. My only complaint was it took some time to get the attention of the kitchen staff to prepare made-to order omelette.

Expensive but one of the better breakfast buffets I've been to. Worth checking out at least once but not affordable to do every day

We made a reservation, but our table was not ready. The buffet was quick for a bite to eat at lunchtime, but it was not exceptional.

Apparently this restaurant is NOT open for lunch on the weekends. I did NOT receive any phone call or notification that they were only open for brunch, even on Mother's Day. Our reservation was for 1145am, and after speaking with the restaurant, it sounded like they just wanted to go home rather than serve us because they closed at Noon.

My wife and I stopped by 8 Block for breakfast, and we were not pleased. You have two options for the buffet - a continental and a step above where you can select warm options. We opted for the warm option which set us back $25 a plate.

While there are plenty of options to choose from, I was not impressed with any of them. They were either flavourless, or you could tell that they had been out for a while. You also get access from the Infused water section, but all of the glasses that they had out looked unclean, so I did not partake. Also be aware that if you want orange juice, or anything other than coffee there is an additional charge on top of the $25 you have already spent.

Since this is a buffet for breakfast, the servers should be quick to assist in any way, but there was no drive behind them, so when you did find someone, they were not fast to react.

To summarize we immediately regretted our decision to have breakfast at this location. There are far better choices.

Excellent eatery inside a fabulous Hyatt Regency. Breakfast buffet was superb, from the protein options to the starches to the fruits & grains, everything was spot on and tasty. I had 7 servings of most everything and wish I had time for at least 3 more.

8 Block is in the Hyatt Regency, a gigantic convention hotel. It's the only place for a sit-down breakfast. But warning: BUFFET ONLY. We ate here every morning and enjoyed it. Lots of hot coffee, excellent selection of foods - both hot and cold. REALLY good breads. Fresh fruit. Salted AND unsalted butter. I'd go back.

I came back because my first experience was wonderful, but yesterday I brought a friend back for her Birthday Brunch and it was a total BUST!!!!

We got there for 10:30 and by 11, they were breaking down the food stations and not replacing items. The Mimosa Bar was clear across the restaurant from where they seated us and twice we had to ask them to bring out more along with more fruit that didn't have gnats attached to them (disgusting). A lot of the food selections once they ran out weren't replaced. It was a horrible experience and I won't be back and I'll pass the word along as well.

We had breakfast with clients here 2 mornings in a row, and had made reservations for both days in advance. The first day they acted surprised that we actually had a reservation and said they would try to fit us in. They continued to seat other guests. After we were seated it took 20 minutes to get our hot tea. We never got the water we ordered until the end of our meal. Good thing it was a breakfast buffet or we would have never gotten out of there! Seriously, for only having to take beverage orders and deliver them, they were terrible. If we weren't staying there for a conference we wouldn't have gone back the 2nd day, but it was pre-set and convenient for everyone as they were also staying at the hotel. The food was good, but wayyy overpriced. $22.95 for a breakfast buffet or $17.95 for continental - ridiculous!

We went to the buffet as a quick and easy option before a Saints game. The buffet was out of more than half of its food. We never once had our water glasses filled throughout the entire meal. And to end the experience, our credit card was swiped for someone else's bill. This isn't a restaurant I would ever need to go back to.

Enjoyable atmosphere with a variety of buffet selections. It has a warm restaurant feel that also allows you to order a calorie friendly entree if you don't want the buffet. Highly recommended.

Great Brunch spot to meet up with friends for a Saints game. They offer bottomless mimosas and bloody mary's. The food is served buffet style which is great because you don't have to wait for service. Some of our group chose to drink and not eat or vice versa which worked out well and we could all hang out together at the same table. It was a quick walk to the dome for game time! Who Dat!

As usual, the breakfast buffet was very good. Nice variety, and everything seemed fresh enough. The only minor issue was that the eggs were a little overcooked. The service was good as well, between the two servers that kept our table clear, brought beverages frequently, etc. And we were particularly impressed when my wife asked for a cafe au lait, and the server not being sure if they could make one asked the manager and he came by and insisted that he run next door to the coffee shop to get her one. Everyone was friendly, the restaurant is clean, roomy, and well illuminated with all the natural light.

We were a party of 11--yes I know most places charge a required 18% on large parties...but, we were served (can you call it that?)at two tables of 6 by two different waiters. All they did was pour coffee and bring water and juice--and we thought he would never come by with coffee--we finally asked someone else...then he showed up. When I booked on OT, perhaps I didn't read it well enough. I was not aware it was a buffet only--a nice buffet, but we would have preferred to order (or maybe not with the crummy service). It was early--they were not slammed--9 AM on Sunday morning. If you were staying in the hotel, it would be a nice enough breakfast...for us, just looking for a way to fit in one more meal before our group left town for their respective homes, it was a major and expensive disappointment.
