Relax at one of Calgary's favorite destinations at 4th Avenue Lounge. This popular eatery, located inside the International Hotel in downtown Calgary, features continental favorites, delectable finger foods, craft beer, cocktails and wine, in a cozy ambience, with inviting couches and bistro tables. 4th Avenue Lounge host a wildly popular happy hour, showcasing their savory creations, such as pulled pork poutine, popcorn shrimp, nachos, loaded potato skins and all-beef sliders that you can enjoy.
4th Avenue Lounge feature a full menu, including hearty, homemade soups and salads, as well as Indian, Italian, Mexican and American dishes and decadent, house-made dessert specialties.
This is one of my favorite places to get cozy and have a delicious meal with amazing service. Winnie the bartender provides top notch service every time I go.
The ladies serving us were very friendly. The food is good but the portions have shrunk since we were last there.
We really enjoyed our lunch at 4th Avenue Grill. The food was spot-on - tasty, reasonable, and a varied menu. Wine feature was fabulous and at a great price, and it wasn't too loud in there so my friend and I could actually talk without yelling. We will be back.
Great wonton soup, but overpriced! Chairs were filthy, but the soup keeps me coming back. $15?! too much!
Really enjoyed the quiet atmosphere and service. The seafood chowder was hearty and tasty. Was nice to have lunch where I didn't feel like I had to yell at the person across from me.
The menu was lacking in variety and definitely not kid friendly. Thank goodness for our great server because that was the only good thing about our experience there.
The food is always good. I really miss Danielle as a server!! The service isn't quite the same without her, but it is up to par!
Everything was just ok, although our Server was very lovely and efficient. The kitchen does not know how to make a Rueben Sandwich. The sandwich had no sauerkraut and it was served on white bread. Who makes a Rueben with white bread? The menu on their website seems to have more food choices than the menu you receive in the restaurant.
It seemed as though our server wasn't listening ... when she asked my friend if she wanted a 6 oz or 9 oz wine, she said 6 oz. but was given 9 oz (as I was having 9 oz). I asked for extra hot sauce with my wonton soup, so the server asked my friend if she wanted extra as well ... she didn't ... she got extra ....
This was the only place I could find downtown that could take our group of 18 last minute. It worked out great - they gave us the whole upstairs. Service was prompt and food was good.
The salmon special was very good and just the right portion size.
I took my team there for a lunch and it was great. We enjoyed our food and the quiet atmosphere.
there was not table availabe for seating and it was bar stools
not very comfrotable sitting and noisy
As always, a great experience. Danielle is the best server EVER!!! Love, love, love her!! She makes my lunch time amazing!
I won't be back. Poor quality food and a weird layout. The only positive would be it's location downtown.
As a repeat customer, I had suggested 4th Avenue Lounge to my colleagues as a place to get together for a nice dinner and a little team building. The place was pretty empty but our area had been set aside ready for our arrival. Upon receipt of the menu it became pretty clear that it was quite different than the online menu. The new menu no longer had some of the items and the prices were higher than what we had remembered. However our waitress was able to accommodate us by allowing us to order similar items from their lunch menu or from the previous menu. We were a little disappointed as one person in our group had to re-order because the pulled pork poutine was no longer available. Unfortunately it was not told to her until the rest of our dinners started to arrive. She re-ordered the beef dip as it seemed like a simple item from the menu only to have to wait for it until everyone else had finished eating. She ended up taking it to go and not having to pay. All in all, while the food portions were pretty generous in size, the food quality was not as some of us remembered it.
The war wonton soup is amazing, as always!! I'll be back!
Our lunch was great ... as usual! However, missed Danielle!! :D
We always get excellent service ... Danielle is awesome!
First time there was during Stampede. The menu appeared to be standard bar food but the quality of the food was as good as I have had throughout the city. I had the Penne Arrabbiata and it was very good and reasonably priced. My dining partner's order came out wrong and the server quickly corrected it and waived the charge on his dinner. While not a fancy place this is a good alternative to other lunch spots in the area and a nice alternative. I will definitely be back.
Great meal for the value! You can't beat a big well-topped burger, fries, a beer and a very cool glass cowboy boot mug for $15! Stampede on!
Great food, great service ... as always!! We'll keep coming back!
Always love having lunch here ... the service is fantastic (Danielle) and the food is fabulous!
Awesome ... as usual! Love the service and the ambiance. We'll be back!
I haven't been here for many years, but was glad to have tried this restaurant again. The food was terrific and large portions for your money. The waitress was super friendly and efficient, couldn't have been more happy.
Always great food and great service for a reasonable price!
Awesome as always!! The Won Ton Soup is amazing ... one of my favorites!
This restaurant needs to hire more staff, the girl is run off her feet!
The food is always great and love the waitress!!! She's very personable!!
I felt bad for our waitress, she was extremely busy but managed it well.
The mushroom soup special was not very desirable, it seemed as though they dumped a can of Campbell's soup in a bowl, put it in the microwave for 30 seconds and sent it out. The smoked meat sandwich was a soggy mess, couldn't eat the bread, it was mushy, yuck. Won't be back...
Had a fun lunch with friends, service was outstanding and we made plans to come back.
The restaurant does not make it clear in its listing that it is in the International Hotel. It is a lounge in a hotel bar that serves good traditional lunch fare. It is a fairly extensive menu. We had a productive meeting with 3 people over lunch.
Dinner was well presented and food good. Not a lot of people at time of eating made the dining experience somewhat lacking any atmosphere. Date of dining was a particularly warm day and perhaps more people dined out than usual.
Due to lack of diners the kitchen seem to shut down earlier than normal and we left before coffees were even offered.
Some confusion over the name of the restaurant. On the ground floor there is a bar which does food and in the basement there is the restaurant formerly called 4th Avenue Cafe and now called 4th Avenue Lounge - both names are perhaps a little misleading.
I find this place so cozy and comfortable. It is the perfect environment for a business meeting and the food is really great. I had the kale and ahi tuna salad and my colleagues had the beef dip and the club and all the food was excellent. I highly recommend this place.
This is just a little hotel pub, the menus on the opentabe app nothing close to the real menu.
Ordered a steak sandwich, steak was under cooked and was served cold - entire meal tasted like it was cookd before I showed up.
Renovations are nicely done and staff are pleasant
I took some customers here for lunch and we all agreed the cozy lounge atmosphere was great. It was easy for us to talk and to hear one another. I had the kale salad and it was fabulous. My associates had the french onion soup, the pulled pork sandwich and the clubhouse and we were all really happy with our lunches. The service was great and the price was reasonable. Because this place is in the International Hotel, I didn't realize it was there, so I am glad that Open Table pointed this neighbourhood gem out for me. I will definitely be back for more business lunches.
I love the beef dip here and I feel it is one of the best in the downtown core. Great place for a business lunch as noise levels are low enough you can carry on a discussion and hear each other. Service was prompt and welcoming. Will definitely be back.
