Current Dinner hours are Monday through Saturday from 4:00 PM- 10:00 PM.
Sunday Dinner service: 4:00PM-9:00PM.
Sunday Brunch: 11:00AM- 3:00PM.
Friday & Saturday Lunch: 11:00AM-3:00PM.

The mussels were outstanding and at half price. Our fries were not great But overall great value!

I expected more polished service at a French bistro. Our server lacked the finesse and demeanor one expects at a high-end restaurant .We had an inauspicious start when I inquired about mocktails, and the server was dismissive and condescending. I selected Perrier instead, and he said they were out. My husband ordered the coq au vin, which was so salty as to be inedible. I could hardly believe my husband thought so because he has a high tolerance for salty foods. My husband, who has never sent a dish back, sent the coq au vin to the kitchen. When the chef came out to check on our table, he said he had noticed when he tasted the coq au vin that it was too salty. This begs the question: why did he serve it? At the end of dinner, I ordered an espresso; and the server said the machine was broken. The server was not apologetic for any of our inconveniences. All in all, it was a disappointing experience. Find your Charleston magic elsewhere.

Wonderful experience as usual. Food was great- wines first rate and our server was attentive without being overbearing. (Sarah H.) we will certainly return- again and again!!

The host was not welcoming and though we had a reservation we were sat in a very uncomfortable table. Our waitress was very personable and helpful and the meal was delicious.

I rarely leave reviews, but my experience at 39 Rue de Jean was frustrating enough to warrant one. The food was incredibly underwhelming, bland, poorly prepared, and far from fresh. For a place that presents itself as upscale, the quality was shockingly low. For reference we ordered: Chicken Francaise Coq Au Vin Grilled Pork Spinach/Cheese Raviolis Service was inattentive at best. It felt like the staff was either overwhelmed or simply uninterested. We had to flag someone down to get fresh silverware and no one checked in during the meal to ask how things were. To top it off, the prices were outrageous given what we received. It felt like we were paying for an experience that just didn’t exist. Definitely not worth the hype.

I was a bit apprehensive due to prior reviews that were "all over the place", but I'm glad that we decided to check it out and create our own opinions. We had an amazing dining experience from start to finish. All of the apps were so delicious and filling that we skipped the entrees and jumped right to dessert. Our waitress was amazing and very attentive despite the restaurant being very crowded. If you're looking for a quiet quaint place... this isn't for you (rather noisy). Would recommend for anybody looking for a good dining experience without breaking the bank!!

Excellent Sunday Brunch Menu! Thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere here at Rue de Jean! Staff was very accommodating! Food was fantastic!

Good service both at the bar and at the table. Food was disappointing, Catch of the day was flavorless. Scallops were were rubbery and not seared.
