312 Chicago is centrally located the Loop Theater and Financial District. Every room offers iconic city views including City Hall, the Thompson Center, the Board of Trade and the Cadillac Palace Theater. The ambiance evokes the comfort and sophistication of a 1930’s supper club, but the style is pure, modern elegance with rich walnut wood and dramatic chandeliers.

Great place and convenient location for business meetings and entertainment.
Too many gnats in dining room.
Service was very slow and plates were not cleared before main dish. Good food but service inattentive
We sat outside which was really pleasant. The ricotta appetizer was delicious. The bread basket was very fresh. I loved the bucatini! Will definitely go back. A nice place to eat before a show.
We've here many times pre-theater. Always excellent. Staff is always nice and attentive. AND the bartenders know how to make really nice classic cocktails.
My waiter was fantastic! I ordered a salad with chicken with a side of spinach. Exactly what I waned! It was del.
The tagliatelle Bolognese was outstanding. Servizio e cibo sono multo eccellente!
A lovely brunch, food and service were outstanding
We came directly to 312 Chicago after attending the play "The bands visit". Even though we were early, they seated us immediately. It was our 27th wedding anniversary and we were seated at table 27. Not that it was planned that way, but it was a nice way to start off the dinner. Food was great, limited menu, but we didn't need many more choices. If I went there often, I might want more options. For a special occassion, it was perfect.
Dinner after play. One of the most delicious salmon dinners I have ever had. Great service.
Good. Server was okay
Unfortunately, my dining companion and I started our experience by being seated in the worst possible table in the restaurant—right next to a post, in direct line of all the waitstaff coming in and out of the kitchen. It was very cramped, to say the least. We ordered a couple dishes, both of which we split. The plates were put down in the middle of the table for us to divide ourselves, which would have been fine, but there really wasn’t space on the table for the bread plates, meal plate, and larger sharing plates, plus two glasses on wine. The food was fine, but nothing special. Service was generally lackluster, with empty plates sitting on the aforementioned very crowded table much longer than they should have. All in all, it was not the best dining experience. I will be choosing other restaurants in the Loop going forward.
Great restaurant! We went before a play next door and the server was right on time, the salmon was great, and my friend liked the halibut.
Would definitely recommend.
Pre-theatre. There must have been some problem in kitchen as food took very long time for multiple tables.
Sous Chef came to our table to discuss friend’s food restrictions. But food still not prepared as discussed.
We’ve been there before and didn’t not encounter these issues. But we were racing to get to theater even though we’d had plenty of time with early reservation, and informing our waiter. We ordered around 6:00, but didn’t see entree til 7:00.
My dinner was delicious. Wish I’d had more time to savor.
Love coming here before or after the theater. Always wonderful wait staff.
Great place for pre-theatre dining. No sense at all of being rushed. The Italian traditional choices have that homemade authenticity.
We brought a friend with us who hadn't been to 312 for quite some time. She was most pleased with how much she enjoyed the meal and the evening. We arrived quite early because it's never easy to estimate how difficult the traffic will be on any evening, but the welcome from staff was warm and friendly and they provided the leisure time to enjoy pre-dinner drinks and conversation and asked us to let them know when we wanted to order. All of us had compliments on each of our entrees and I especially on my primi course. It made our pre-theater evening quite special.
The food was great and the service was spot on. Great for a nice dinner.
Restaurant style and demographic were not typical for Kimpton hotel. Seemed to be mostly a pre-dinner and early bird crowd. Service was disorganized and below expectations. For example, ordered a pre-dinner cocktail which arrived 15 minutes later after appetizer had been served and wine had been opened. Asked for a couple of thin pieces of Parmesan after dinner to accompany some leftover over wine. This was a major undertaking for the staff, which is especially surprising given this is an Italian.
All that said, food was good but not great.
I would go somewhere else before going back.
We are always welcomed back like family....Zhanna (hope I'm spelling that correctly) remembered our drink orders!....We hadn't been there since spring!.....312 is our go-to establishment for pre-Opera dining....Always a pleasure.
The service was excellent and our fish entrees were prepared perfectly. We couldn’t have been more pleased by our dining experience!
Post-theater supper after a matinee.
312 is clearly used to getting people in and out, as their pace of service was quite pushed. The food, however, was excellent, and service, though too fast, was attentive.
I was bothered by the guy who was only one table away, every word of whose conversation with his companion was not just audible, but literally loud and clear. It was my fault for not asking, equally loudly, to be moved someplace far away.
I would go back, but, if you are not in a hurry, slow the pace and advise the waiter to give you a chance to relax and enjoy rather than being pushed to eat and run.
Great food and great service before a really good play at The Cadillac Palace Theatre.
Great, friendly service accompanied by original, delicious brunch selections.
We had brunch there. Our server was, Louis, phenomenal. We got pancakes, toast, fruit, and bacon. The pancakes and toast both came out burnt. We ate the parts that were edible. The place was too pricey for what you got. Maybe they do dinner well. But I wouldn’t recommend breakfast.
We really enjoyed 312 Chicago. The steak my buddy ordered came out tender and delicious. The pappardelle Bolognese was great, if a little salty. The bread and tapenade was great. We were running a race the next morning, and the server was totally fine that we didn't get any alcoholic beverages. I was very happy with 312 Chicago and would definitely go again.
Very convenient to Cadillac theater. Food was good .
Wonderful service and food. Top notch for a nice date night dinner. We love this place!
Food was good (as usual), but our service was sub-par. Because we were not rushing off to the show next door, our server gave us much less of a priority. It was terrible. She even told us at one point that we would have to wait because her other tables were in a rush. Even if that was true, find a better way to say it. Very disappointing! Good place, just don’t go when a show is in town I guess.
Very convenient to downtown theaters and worth dining here just for that reason. The staff is welcoming, helpful and efficient. The bread and seasoned olive oil are terrific but my fish entree was just okay.
From the moment I walked in the door, service was delightful. The food was presented well, tasted delicious and was more than I could eat. So my friend had her entree and then enjoyed half of mine. Looking forward to coming back often.
Perfect location in the Theater District! Great menu, delicious food!
Food is excellent as is the service but the decor needs a face lift!
Before theater always come herr
Always a solid choice for dinner in the Theatre District.
The service and the food were both outstanding. If you are attending an event at the Cadillac Theatre, this is the place you want to have reservations. Great location for any event in the loop.
We sat outside so we expected some noise.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Excellent Italian food, very good, prompt service.
The service was terrible. Had to ask multiple times for water refills and food was forgotten about. I made a reservation for 5 and they were trying to seat us at two separate tables. Food was great but would not go back again.
Very pricey wine list but great food. So happy with gluten free options!
