312 Chicago is centrally located the Loop Theater and Financial District. Every room offers iconic city views including City Hall, the Thompson Center, the Board of Trade and the Cadillac Palace Theater. The ambiance evokes the comfort and sophistication of a 1930’s supper club, but the style is pure, modern elegance with rich walnut wood and dramatic chandeliers.

great pleace to go before plays at the cadalac theatre
NIce food. Not too many GLuten Free options and less Dairy free options.
Good spot for pre show dinner!
Not good. Dined here pre-theater and it reinforced the sad fact that there are no good restaurants in the theater district. Mushy, tasteless food (I had the gnocchi).
Won’t be back.
Great place to dine
something has changed -
Not sure if the hotel worker strike was impacting the restaurant, but believe they are under separate ownership, so that should not have been an issue. One evening 8 of us went for drinks. Service was rather slow, but we were not in a rush and once we had our wine we were fine. The next morning, we had reservations for 8am (we thought we allowed enough time before our 9:30am meeting just steps away). Our orders were not taken until about 8:20am and our food arrived at 8:50am. We literally had to inhale our meals and/or pack them to go. What I had of my breakfast was great - but certainly did not have time to enjoy it and left half of it there.
Amazing staff! Amazing food! Chose 312 Chicago to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday and the made her feel truly special. Everyone was so accommodating. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! The smile on my girl’s face as we left confirmed everything! I’d highly recommend any to visit ASAP!
Always exceptional—friendly, service was excellent, very accommodating.
The food and service were wonderful. We will definitely be back.
All of the dishes were delicious and service was fantastic. Great location pre theater dinner. Perfect portions and price was very reasonable. We want to come back and try more different dishes.
It was fine but not outstanding. I did not like the tomato, cheese (Muffalo?), bacon appetizer. It tasted too greasy. It is convenient to the Cadillac Palace Theater. They did a nice wine pairing with the meal.
We had a pre-theater dinner for two at Bistro 312. The curtain was at 7:30; we booked at 5:30 (before the main rush of theater patrons arrived) and had plenty of time. Our table was tucked away on the first floor, but when I used the ladies room on the second level I noticed that table up there had a fun view of the street below--might be worth requesting. The menu is all Italian, and includes numerous fish dishes as well as a few red meats (pork chop and steak) along with pastas, risotto, gnocchi. Pre-fixe is available, including dessert, with limited choice. The service and welcome were friendly and efficient.
Delicious food, great service and we were introduced to great new cabernet!
Everything was perfect.
Great wine list and awesome real Italian food.
This is our go-to pre-theatre spot & doesn’t disappoint. Great wine list & fun people watching!
While the food is always very tasty, the menu may have recently changed and felt a little limited.
Roasted cauliflower was amazing so try it if you get the chance. Scallop entree was a great choice, 4 generous sized scallops, although tender on the inside, a couple were over charred.
There was a weird stain on one of the chairs, it was quickly swapped out.
The staff is great, knowledgeable & attentive.
I have always enjoyed 312 over the past 10 years when going to a theatre in the area. Very convenient! All service staff friendly and attentive.
Been coming here for 15+ years. Food quality, service still consistently good. Always a pleasure. Value is best.
You know they have a chef who can cook if they can cook fish— ours was great!!
Love this restaurant in the heart of the Loop. Food is always good, for brunch we had the omelet and 312 burger. Both entrees served hot and made to order. The bar tender and our waiter very friendly and efficient. Cadillac Theatre is connected to the restaurant via the upper leve, so convenient.
The overall experience was decent. However, our server, interrupted the conversation multiple time, rather than waiting for someone to finish the conversation. I understand he was trying to order our food but I think it's basic etiquette to not interrupt the conversation.
We came here on a Sunday night of a long weekend and were, candidly, a little worried that it was bit more crowded. No worries! The food is very tasty, if not the broadest menu. The service is terrific and very friendly. They have a very nice nice wine list, with a good selection from Italy and the States. We would definitely go back, frequently.
Went above and beyond to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday. Fantastic staff and food.
Not our first time to 312 Chicago, and hopefully not our last. We went pre Saturday evening musical, so dined relatively early. Service was outstanding, the wine selection very strong, and our food was creative and delicious.
We first found this restaurant several years while staying at the attached Kimpton Allegro hotel. Very handy to slip over for a great meal, but 312 Chicago is worth the trip even without the hotel stay.
Luca's food , selections and service are always great my favorite place for lunch and pre theatre
The best food in Chicago thanks to chef Luca's talent and inspiration.
Met an old coworker for dinner, food was great and service was spot on
We ate breakfast. Excellent - 4 people. All enjoyed the meal. Parmesan potatoes were wonderful with the breakfast. Eggs cooked perfectly (over medium) and scrambled. Basil mozzarella omelet also a favorite. Went back the next morning when staying in town. Luis our sever was prompt professional and polite..while giving us tips for things to do in the city.
Food was great and noise level was low.
We had a lasagna dish and a special offered Saturday, which was a lovely scallop dish. Both were excellent!
Thank you for an amazing dinner! Food was perfect and serving was definitely above average gourmet size (which is always a plus)! I had the Branzino. The two seared fish fillets were delicious!
The food was good (my salmone was great) but the service was awesome! Really good place to celebrate a special occasion (like I did)
Great choice! The food and wine was delicious! The service was excellent.
We had dinner here before the theatre. Exceptional food, service, & ambiance! We will definitely eat at 312 Chicago when we return to Chicago!
Fantastic meal and great service! We will definitely go again!
Good from top to bottom. And their patio was pup friendly which is exactly what we needed.
Very good food. Service was exceptional.
Great place for a downtown business lunch. Good food, good service in a comfortable, professional setting.
Great food (sautéed shrimp and scallops) and prompt service!
The food is delicious, and the wine list is admirable. We tried the buffala appetizer, and it was yummy. The beefsteak tomatoes were especially fresh and juicy. My mother had the pork chop dinner, and it was flavorful. Highly recommend. Great place for a family meal (with older children who are able to sit still for longer than an hour), Girls night out, or a business dinner.
My daughter and I were there on July 22nd. We got seated on time but it took at least 10 minutes to get our order placed. Then we had to flag someone down to get a lemon that we had asked for when seated to get it delivered. Then we asked for the bill when they brought the bill we had theater tickets. Had to ask again for the bill. Finally brought it with no pen to sign. Had to walk to hostess station to get a pen to sign.
But 312 was very helpful in keeping my luggage till I could get it to the car.
Great meal and quick service. The Buffala and steak were terrific!
