312 Chicago is centrally located the Loop Theater and Financial District. Every room offers iconic city views including City Hall, the Thompson Center, the Board of Trade and the Cadillac Palace Theater. The ambiance evokes the comfort and sophistication of a 1930’s supper club, but the style is pure, modern elegance with rich walnut wood and dramatic chandeliers.

Our party of six people enjoyed brunch prior to attending a chicago play down the street.
We were seated immediately.
Luis is an amazing server, he is warm, friendly, knowledgeable and very attentive.
Several of us ordered the short rib hash and it was absolutely delicious! We were all very impressed with the quality
and the portion size. The fruit bowl I ordered was fresh, and also very generous.
Our coffee was constantly being refilled.
The manager Jordan, came up and introduced himself to me when he overheard me telling my fiends, also dining at the restaurant about our fabulous meal.
I look forward to returning soon and often!
On another note, when I made my reservation on line at open table, it indicated that I would be receiving 1000 points for that reservation. I was very surprised to see ghat I only received 100. Can you check this out for me please?
Good food before going to the Chicago Symphony.
Really loved the round tables and the general lay out of the dining room. Very pleasant!
Food was good, however seating on second floor, environment was noisy, and for a pre-theater environment, not very well dressed. Clothes literally were strewn on the floor, men wearing jeans, just not the ambiance I would have associated with the somewhat pricey restaurant.
Nice meal and atmosphere. Service reasonable, given restaurant was busy. Would go again.
Booths are too tight
Wonderful restaurant, staff goes overboard to make sure it is a memorable experience. We will go back!
First time going. We had an appetizer and each had a main course. The food was delicious and the view was great. We were checked on multiple times throughout. Recommend to go to before a play.
Really enjoyed the food! The prix fixe dinner was outstanding, with excellent wine pairings. The flourless chocolate cake desert was (and I don’t say this lightly) heavenly!
Very disappointed with both food and service. We ordered the special Rissotto dish which came out lukewarm. Took forever to get the dessert. Seems that the restaurant caters to the theater crowd and is ill equipped to handle the diners given the time constraints
We loved it! Wonderful food & fantastic food. I found my new favorite Italian wine - Zibbobo - here! Arugula + warm porcini mushrooms + goat cheese salad is excellent! Lasagna is perfection. We’d definitely go there again!
The restaurant was small and quaint easy to get to. That was a great host standing at the door that took our coats. The food was made from scratch. Most of the meals were very light inelegant. The service was fast because we was down to see a play. I will recommend this to all my friends.
Christmas celebrating with friends.
Marco was very attentive & accommodating!
Delicious meals, my friend and I had lunch here pre show and the service was really good and quick. The food was well cooked, I ordered Salmon and the temperature was perfect! Will definitely dine here again. Our server was very nice. Next door to the Cadillac Palace theater and walking distance to the others.
This is one of our favorite true-and-true pre-theater restaurant venues, close to the Cadillac Palace (where last night's dinner was enjoyed) and almost close enough to avoid [most if not all] raindrops. Though we didn't get our regular table, we were rewarded with an booth at the window for a great street view. Ii chose the prix fixe menu and was rewarded with a wonderful appetizer of truffle polenta with a short rib and a bone-in pork chop while my wife chose the skin-on branzino. I also opted for the wine pairing with my meal, an excellent choice. A leisurely dessert set the timing for our move to the theater perfectly.
Always a great experience....we were a party of 7 on Saturday and some of our friends had not experienced the joys of dining at 312....they were very impressed.....Marco took great care of us...food, service and ambiance were wonderful as always....and best of all, I've been in enough that I'm greeted like family...Thanks again for another splendid evening.
Very convenient for pre or post-theatre dining. Lively atmosphere, service was good. Food was average.
The food was excellent, but the service was lacking. Long wait; some of the food came cold and had to be returned.
Went there for brunch before a play, great ambiance, great and fast service.
Wonderful restaurant- dinner was excellent and the server and staff were very attentive.
The food came out extremely fast which while that was a plus because we were attending a show straight afterwards makes me feel like it wasn't cooked fresh when ordered. The food tasted very good. Our server was excellent however there were a couple of small things such as replacing cutlery and not placing it appropriately on the table and no finesse when putting the plates of food on the table.
Second try. Was not thrilled the first time, but received an e-mail asking me to try again, so I did. Although the food was much better the second time, it is still WAY overpriced - $110 (including the 20% tip) for LUNCH for two? Yes, my daughter had soup and I had salad, in addition to our main course - but neither of us had any alcohol nor dessert. My salad - $10 - was some spring greens, pieces cucumber and cherry tomato - which would an included side salad anywhere else. Sorry, but the fact that you are located where you are does not overcome the fact that your prices are WAY out of line. We will definitely NOT be eating here again.
Had lunch with 4 friends before play at Cadillac Palace which is next door. We each had different entrees and all were very good.
We ate here after seeing Miss Saigon last Sunday evening. We were concerned about getting home during the expected blizzard. They accommodated our limited time very well. Everything was delicious, and I would go back again when I had more time. The service was great and very caring by everyone we encountered.
Good food and service. We had Sunday brunch there. Great selection of both lunch and breakfast type offerings and all were very tasty. Excellent location for those of us attending a performance at the Cadillac Palace theatre as it is only a few steps away.
Standard menu is just ok, but the special options were amazing so take the time to listen to all of them! Would definitely recommend
We chose 312 for a special night out, meeting up with out of town friends. It was a perfect evening - wonderful food & drinks, great service, lovely ambience & low noise level which allowed easy conversation. Highly recommend
Lovely food and interesting cocktails. Attentive service. Very enjoyable dinner pre-theater.
A good and dependable dining experience. This has a perfect location in downtown Chicago. Just far enough away from the holiday tourists! Comfy food and delightful service.
Chicago 312 never disappoints! The food was delicious and the service attentive and welcoming. It is my "go to" restaurant pre/post theatre when visiting Chicago. My parents (visiting from Kentucky) thoroughly enjoyed it! I was looking forward to the bourbon gelato on the blueberry crostata -- but the ginger gelato was a nice surprise instead!
Know that the kitchen closes at 10 am! Luckily the wait staff was efficient in making sure people got orders in before they closed.
We went for Thanksgiving, not knowing what to expect. The meal was delicious from the opening beet salad to the turkey dinner to the fabulous pecan dessert. The lasagna secondi was superb, the turkey was moist and the stuffing and gravy were exceptional. We will definitely be back for an Italian meal!
We enjoyed a lovely Thanksgiving dinner. The preset menu was delicious and the service was excellent.
Anniversary and Thanksgiving celebration.
Good overall and great service with sense of humour for Thanksgiving. We will try at night
Very good, reliable Italian restaurant in the heart of the theater district. Excellent for vegetarians. We have been here on a number of occasions and have always had a good experience. It is very busy and rather loud, so keep that in mind.
312 is one of my absolute favorite restaurants in Chicago. My favorite go-to appetizers are the buffala wrapped in prosciutto and the brussel sprouts. Then, for an entree I definitely recommend the pappardelle bolognese; not only is the bolognese to DIE for, the pappardelle pasta is absolutely tender since 312's pasta is "fatto in casa" (homemade). Finally, to wrap up dinner, finish off your glass of red wine with the flourless chocolate cake that is beyond decadent.
Amazing! Probably the best salmon Ive ever had. The wine pairings were perfect. Great date night.
