312 Chicago is centrally located the Loop Theater and Financial District. Every room offers iconic city views including City Hall, the Thompson Center, the Board of Trade and the Cadillac Palace Theater. The ambiance evokes the comfort and sophistication of a 1930’s supper club, but the style is pure, modern elegance with rich walnut wood and dramatic chandeliers.

Just tremendous service from the bar to the waitress. Great food at a great price. Food was fresh and the servings were generous.
312 is amazing! Fantastic food and wonderful service.
Excellent food and the service was outstanding! I would definitely come back!
Was there last night for birthday dinner and before the show. Specifically stated in the reservation that it was for birthday, nothing from host to waitstaff, not even a short happy birthday. Then why bother asked customers to provide reasons?
Food was decent. Ordered squid ink pasta. Pasta clumped together, which made it undercooked. Sauce tasted fine. My partner ordered another pasta dish and his dish was good. Ordered a couple desserts and they were fine, not spectacular.
One great thing I could say is bus boys (people who took empty plates and refilled water?) were awesome. Never once our glasses were empty. Our waitress wasn’t as attentive as should be.
Expectation was higher due to very good reviews. Reality, it was just fine. Probably won’t be going back there again given there are many other options to choose from in Chicago.
We had a fabulous meal before a show. Highlight of the meal was the lasagna-we loved it. Will definitely return to 312!
Great atmosphere. Hostess, wait/bus staff all pleasant, enthusiastic, attentive but not overly-so. Just right. Food delicious—Filletto was fantastic, date had the salmon and loved it. Highly recommend.
Great food and great location!! We should have started eating here years ago
I’ve been here many times, and the food is consistently good. The atmosphere is also nice, with upstairs being more elegant. I have always had great service here until this last meal. The female waitress appeared annoyed the entire time. After we refused a cocktail (it was 11:45 am), she appeared to become annoyed and then disappeared for ages. She finally came back for our order and continued the same attitude. Food was outstanding, but she really ruined the experience for us. I’ll return because this has not been my past experience. I hope management is aware of how much this server is impacting client satisfaction.
We had an early reservation before going to blue man group. We asked for an upper level seating with a view and was immediately accommodated with easy. The food was properly priced for the quality. Both my wife and I will return for sure. Highly recommend a night for dinner here!
This was my second time at 312 and it did not disappoint again! The service and food is outstanding. I would highly recommend 312 to anyone!
They took one look at us, assumed we were young, maybe it's because we are multi-racial, we don't know, but they sat us in the WORST seats they possibly could. There are three terrible booths, all alone, on the side, near the NOISE and extreme heat of the kitchen. These seats shouldn't exist. We were the ONLY people sat over there. Our water, and "shareable" cocktail, essentially water also, were both warm because of our terrible seating. We got to hear nothing but the yelling of the kitchen. We received none of the romantic ambiance this restaurant boasts. The atmosphere was only matched in terror by the bland appetizers and "risotto" which I would rather liken to porridge. I can't believe our treatment and quality of food. Our server was nice, but everything us RUINED Valentine's Day for us. We will never return and are horrified we spent any amount of money or time for that sort of treatment.
Great before theater place
Valentine’s Day - pollo (chicken) - OMG! Yum!
This is always a reliable place for that pre-theatre meal. We were a bit late and appreciated their holding our table. Good food and the wines are very nice and reasonably priced.
Loved the food. Servers were terrific in getting our food so that we could make it to the theater in time.
Each of the several attendants who we encountered, from manager to busboys to waiter were not only cordial but helpful and efficient.
312 continues to excel. The food, service and ambiance remain first rate. We highly recommend this very fine and accessible restaurant.
Fried Brussels Sprouts are amazing! Filet with fingerling potatoes were excellent! Pappardelle Bolognese fabulous! They even created a cocktail for us with ingredients we like! Highly Recommend!!
Great Sunday brunch and great location for Goodman Sunday Matinee.
I love 312 Chicago. I eat there whenever we go to the opera and it is consistently delicious. The customer service is always impeccable. Everyone is always so solicitous and you can tell they really enjoy the food they serve. The delicious food and the fabulous customer service keeps me coming back.
WE were lucky enough to enjoy their restaurant week menu - they extended it a few days because of the extreme cold the week before. The brussels sprouts were amazing! Desserts were exceptional - cheesecake with amarena cherries and a flourless chocolate cake. The appetizers and the desserts served as perfect brackets for the entrees of roasted salmon with lentils and N'duja rubbed chicken breast. Service, as always, was perfect. We have never had a bad experience at 312.
We enjoyed our dinner for 6 at 312 Chicago. The food was excellent. The service was good. Our group lingered for a long time and no one bothered us or seemed to mind. The restaurant was fairly full and therefore loud but not so loud that we couldn't hear each other.
One of my favorite restaurants! Every bite is an experience! I highly recommend this restaurant.
We went pre-theater for my birthday. Did not like the first seating assignment, and they were fast to move us elsewhere. Service was VERY good, the food was very good, and we definitely will recommend to others. Best yet, the restaurant was a quick 3 blocks to the theater--just enough to walk off dinner for a comfortable show!
Overall a good meal. We did the restaurant menu deal which was a good way to get a generous amount of food for a decent price. The service was a little bit slow at first and although we initially mentioned we had to go to the opera by 7 we were a little time crunched at that end of our meal. The chicken entree and the tortelloni entree were both fantastic and the chocolate cake was decadent as well. Old-fashioned left something to be desired.
The food for restaurant week was incredible! However, I will say the service could have been better. Our hostess was more attentive than our waiter. He served us our wine and continuously refilled when we were low while we only saw our waiter when he brought out each course.
Went to try restaurant for the first time- had the restaurant week menu items which were all good and very large portions.
Great place to have a bite to eat with friends. The location is perfect, just minutes from the office.
A splendid all around experience once again....Marco took wonderful care of us...Everyone in our party had a great time. Everyone at 312 greets us like we're family....Always heartwarming on a cold winter evening.
Service was great, cant beat location for before or after theater. Food was just okay. Sizes were generous.
Service was outstanding, quality of food matched the service! A perfect spot just before the theater. We will be back!
I wish I could remember our servers name because he was great, very personable and full of recommendations. We had breakfast on a Sunday morning and were treated two very large portions that were as simple as a Crossaint breakfast sandwich and as fancy as a Caprese omelet. Coffee was bold and yummy. What I appreciate it most is that the table was never left with sugar wrappers or unattended coffee or creamer the entire time. The ambience was simple, tasteful and the window view was fun to watch people outside. Would definitely recommend.
Excellent Ravioli and lasagna. Salmon was crispy and tasty. I would go again!
Pre-theater lunch. Delicious! Great service! Around the corner from the Cadillac Palace Theater! Priceless!
The location was great, as it is next to the Cadillac Theater. We were impressed with the home made potato chips. We got the Chicken Panini, the chicken was excellent, but the bread was disappointing. The bread was too hard, so took the chicken out. The atmosphere was great, as was the staff. We had a great Bloody Mary and Mimosa. Will think about going back, but may need to try something different.
We went to enjoy a Chicago Restaurant Week menu after the theater and it was amazing. The food was so good and nicely presented with many unique items.
Everything was perfect from the minute we walked in!
Wonderful experience with the restaurant week menu! Neither of us can stop thinking about the butternut squash tortellini.
We went to 312 for dinner before a show next door at the Cadillac Theater. We had the Restaurant Week Specials and they were all good.
My wife and I came downtown for a long weekend for our anniversary and this was our one planned dinner reservation for the evening as we were staying at the Hotel Allegro. I indicated in my reservation it was our anniversary and they had a table already decorated and ready to go for us.
The food was tremendous - my wife got the risotto special and I got a pasta dish. Both were of a great size and we didn't need an appetizer or salad. They gave us a complimentary dessert as well.
Throughout the meal, managers came by to check if everything was going well and if we were having a good time. I cannot recommend 312 enough for the quality of food and the staff.
