Great place for couples
We had a wonderful dining experience!
Excellent food and service always. Our favorite restaurant in the Newport Beach area when we are visiting.
Great dinner.......and bread pudding. ;) Trendy spot, very fun atmosphere!
The restaurant was busy but I always felt our server was giving us special attention. She was never a pest or imposing and she always seemed to be there when we needed anything. We loved our entire experience including our drinks! We will be back!
Dine early! This restaurant seems to get packed after 6:00 pm so be sure and have a reservation. tables near the back are LOUD due to open kitchen as well as the volume of the (unnecessary) music and all tables are spaced VERY close together. If weather is nice, opt for a table near the front (sidewalk). Bread was served with a kalamata olive butter (I think) which was warm and tasty. The maui onion soup was delicious as were the oysters. Two of us had the shrimp scampi pasta, which was just okay. Kind of bland. However the candied salmon salad was excellent as was the veal. Bus staff was very helpful but I felt our waiter was smarmy.
Great food and service but fairly loud so not great if you’re catching up with friends and really want to talk
Food was disappointing. Mussels were chewy and with shell pieces. Too salty broth. Gnocchi were mushy with too thick cream and dry chicken pieces. Left most of meals. Waitress did bring a complimentary dessert which we ate but would not have ordered. No offer to comp the food.
We were sitting by a speaker and the waiter was very nice about turning down the music
Pretty limited menu options and overpriced. I was encouraged by our server to order the halibut but surprised it was breaded and very very bland. I felt a waste of $34. The rest of the table were satisfied with their choice although none of us would recommend or rush back. There seem to be better options such as Oak, better value for money and much better food!
Always been great..14 yrs running 🏃♀️
Everything was fine but found the menu to be too limited compared to my prior visits a year or so ago and in the past. Would like a much broader menu
My husband and I were visiting Laguna Beach for the first time and the positive reviews about this restaurant prompted me to make a reservation. I requested a less noisy area since the reviews also noted that it was noisy and my husband is hearing impaired. My request was accommodated and we enjoyed a delicious meal and great wine. The food was very well prepared and the servers were attentive and well trained. I would definitely recommend 230 Forest Avenue if asked where to eat in Laguna.
The food is fine, if you don't mind (literally) rubbing elbows with the diners at the surrounding tables. The noise level make conversation difficult. The hostess was less than welcoming and the wait staff was not attentive in the least.
If the tables were any closer I could eat off their plates.
The Food and service was very good and well proportioned.
Took our 9 month old son out for dinner while traveling as a family. This was an enjoyable meal, good service and a good atmosphere. Loud enough to hide baby squeals and other noises ;)
always great food and great service. no complaints. we go there frequently and continue to do so
Food, service were outstanding. Great meal. Rock Shrimp, house salad, sea bass/risotto and chocolate bread pudding. Perfect meal!!
