Chef/Owner Eliza serves cuisine classified as Modern Bistro with an eclectic blend of flavors and styles.
A mélange of seafood, game and beef, with accompaniments that range from Deep South to Calypso to Classical French to Californian Cuisine to Creole, there is a dish for any adventurous palate.

We very much enjoyed this restaurant during our trip to Telluride. The drinks were fantastic and the food was incredible. We had the Bison short ribs and they were to die for. They fell off the bone and melted in your mouth. The only downside was that they ran out of the sirloin steak that evening. However, what we had was fantastic. We will for sure come back during our next visit.
This restaurant has an amazing full vegetarian menu along with a standard menu. Amazing options on both and all of our dishes were fantastic. Hats off!
Service was top notch to go along with delicious food
Excellent experience. The service was pretty good (only one server for several tables) done with first cocktail before she even acknowledged us, but they were busy. Food was thoughtful, fresh and told a story. They were great in considering an allergy and even treated us to an anniversary desert. Great for special occasions and would return if in Telluride again!

We always enjoy dinner at 221. This time we were joined by friends who are real wine fanatics and they loved Luke's knowledge and recommendations. Two thumbs up.
The food and service were very good. My only comment to the Chef is to consider using an oil other than a combination of canola and corn. I know it is inexpensive but research the growing body of evidence against using canola. Corn is also most likely gmo. For a fine restaurant like this you may want to consider using rice bran oil.
Always a treat to dime here. Everything is delicious- from the cocktails to dessert. Highly recommend.

Overall experience was very good. At our table that night we had two young college students within our party who were interested in the culinary arts. We found out, through our server that the Top Chef and the Owner of the restaurant was cooking that night. We asked our server if she could come out to meet our young inspiring culinary students. The server was energetic about our request and said "Let me check with her". Unfortunately the Chef declined as she was busy taking inventory. What a bummer. We told our two students, after dinner, to not be discouraged and to also use this as a teaching moment. In life when you have an opportunity to inspire the younger generation, no matter how busy you are, take a few minutes to help inspire the dream. Do the opposite for what just happened.
Food was overpriced for the quality. Items lacked flavor and were over-cooked.

We dine at 221 with some regularity when we are in Telluride. The food always has an enjoyable twist. They continue to make nice additions to the wine list as well. Our out of town guest raves about dinner.
We really want to compliment the staff on their efforts to address the Covid issues. Table spacing, ventilation, and other precaution were very well done. We felt very comfortable enjoying a great meal.

Great venue the construction next door takes away from the old ambiance. Hopefully when that is done there is a barrier that can return it to the old patio atmosphere. Great food and great service
Beautiful outdoor dining in the heart of Telluride. Perfect place to celebrate my birthday. Lovely servers, incredible food and drinks.
During CoVid the staff did not miss a step. Great patio seating, great service from Rachel, and of course food was amazing. We can’t wait to go back to Telluride to dine there again.
On vacation in Telluride
Things were mostly good but a bit uneven on the night we were there. It was a Monday and clearly a very popular place as walk-ins were coming in all night. They are doing a great job with distancing and the inside tables are way more than 6 feet apart. I absolutely loved my grilled octopus appetizer and my Duo of Ravioli with the amazing mushroom reduction. My husband had the burrata app and the roasted chicken breast and enjoyed both. He was excited to see a strawberry shortcake on the dessert menu but sadly the biscuit was very, very dry. I had the profiteroles and the pastry was dry as well. Also on the down side, the service was very slow throughout our evening, and somehow we were marked as a No Show, but the folks at Open Table got this fixed.
Great food and setup, but when you get there be sure to check in properly with a host. I had to grab someone’s attention to check in after 4 staff members walked by me. 20 mins after my reservation /checking in a different host came up and told me they hadn’t known I had been waiting. Service was pleasant otherwise!
Wonderful, gem of a restaurant in lovely Telluride. Food is fabulous and fresh- such a creative menu created by Chef Eliza with the perfect seasonal ingredients. Luke is an amazing sommelier and host and makes everyone feel welcome, whether you are a first time visitor or longtime patron. Favorite spot in town.

We were seated promptly in their outdoor area. Wait staff tended to us immediately and was very helpful explaining dishes.
It was an excellent meal! We all ordered something different and all enjoyed their dishes.

Friends-cation in Telluride and not much open for dining - so glad we found 221 S. Oak. The menu was plentiful and inventive, great cocktail and wine list and a wonderful, quaint setting. We were very pleased and left happy to have dined there!

Outstanding meal! Excellent flavors matched on each plate. It was a wonderful experience after we were seated. They struggled managing the seating process even though every group had reservations. However, the meal was outstanding and worth a little frustration getting seated.
