17Hundred90 Inn and Restaurant
A living time capsule of America's earliest decades, 17Hundred90 captures the authentic flavor of an eighteenth century river port hotel and restaurant while working diligently to provide wonderful new memories for our guests.
I would haven given 5stars across, but my shrimp and scallops dish came very salty. The drinks were good. The pecan pie was divine. The hostess, he was very nice and professional.
The food was good but getting the food to us took two Hours and then another quarter of an hour for the bill.
Excellent food and ambiance. Our server made the meal even more special. All in all an excellent dinning experience.
Best meal the entire trip.
The building was cool. Steve, our waiter, was the best server Megan and I have had in a LONG time!. The food was outstanding! Steve helped make our anniversary celebration most memorable. And the meal and atmosphere was something everyone should try when they arrive in Savannah. We can’t wait to see ya’ll again. Thank you!!
Amazing! Amazing! Amazing! Every part- from the pub to the service to the history and charm to the delicious food. And, the honey butter glazed biscuits. Sweet Jesus! Will definitely return.
Wonderful restaurant set in older hotel. Food-excellent, staff-excellent, been here before for wedding reception, fabulous, there are absolutely no negatives here. Oh and there is something about a ghost that stalks the place, haven’t had the opportunity to run into her yet. Enjoy you won’t be disappointed.
Had a very mixed experience --- neither entree arrived at the table as described. One was fine with the change and the other was very poor. Starters were very mediocre. Nice historic location, but doesn't make up for the food quality. Sorry, cannot recommend.
Second time dining here for our anniversary. Definitely a favorite spot all around!
It was very charming wiht the pinio player that played during dinner. The server seemed like he didn't want to be there so he was a little of a wet towel. The food was good but not great. I had the gumbo and it was dry and the shrip was over cooked. Because it was so charming I would give it another try
The restaurant is located in the garden level of the building and is wonderfully historic. Exposed brick walls, black beams high lighted with small crystal chandeliers lend a special ambience to the place.. A piano player in the corner only adds to the charm.
We both has the escargots for starters and they were perfect. Sautéed in a garlic butter and served between layers of puff pastry.
I had the seafood combo, with scallops, shrimp and crab cakes. Everything was fresh and the scallops were the beat I’ve had in Savannah. My wife had the New York and it was perfected executed. Dinner was followed with a slice of pecan pie that was so light and delicious!
Our server Melvin could not have been more attentive and really made the evening a wonderful experience. I would recommend you dine here when in Savannah!
Steve was our very personable and attentive waiter. The honey biscuits were to die for and then we got the blackened shrimp, the jambalaya and the rack of lamb ... all delicious! We also got the oysters Rockefeller... outstanding.
Anniversary dinner, food was amazing! Service was first class.
Food and experience was really nice for my wife birthday dinner steak was cooked to perfection and will definitely be back
Delicious food and wine! Romantic ambience. Would definitely eat there again anytime in Savannah! I had lamb chops and my husband had jambalaya which he said was one of the best he has had.
We enjoyed a lovely dinner! We enjoyed the historic ambience of the bar and restaurant. Both my husband's and my meals were delicious, the glazed biscuits were out of this World, and the house wine was very good! We look forward to returning with friends!
Had a strong allergic reaction to something in the food, I’m allergic to oysters but I checked with the restaurant and they said nothing I ate had oysters in it, so it is a mystery. I would definitely eat there again , but would change up my selection of food choices.
Great gem. This restaurant has a good story, great oysters and wonderful service. I would go back to Savannah just for this restaurant. Next time I will book a room there as well. Many thanks.
It was my first time eating there and everything was great and I would recommend and go back again!
Everything was outstanding!! Can’t wait to come back!! Best way to celebrate a special occasion!❤️
This is a classic Southern restaurant with many enduring qualities. It is worth the trip each time I visit Savannah. On my most recent visit (10/3/19) I was welcomed by the restaurant maitre d' upon arrival and quickly seated at a corner table far enough away from the pianist to relaxed but able to communicate with Greg easily as guests made occasional requests which he played flawlessly.
They serve a honey biscuit to start which alone is worth the trip. The fried green tomatoes were among the best I've had and the Caesar salad well presented and crisp. The Neptune platter with shrimp, scallops and crab cakes, on risotto and a medley of vegetables with accompanying white and red wine made for a great end to a long day of travel.
I look forward to my return.
Great food. Great service A memorable dinner. Will be back the next time I am in Savannah.
Wonderful atmosphere. Waiter had great attention to detail. The crab cakes were way too spicy but everything else was excellent. But all in all a delightful evening. Loved the bar. Go there and have a drink before dinner.
Waiter was very disinterested never came back and checked on us after our food was delivered. The lady that served us our rolls was very pleasant and engaging
Great restaurant for a special meal with someone special.
We were staying at the Kehoe and it is only 350 feet to 1790!! We were so pleased with it after the first night, we cancelled our last night dinner at Pink House to return to 1790!! It has a great ambiance, the staff is great and the food is some of the best we have had. Particularly loved the fillet and the pineapple desert with a scoop of Leonardi's ice cream. We suggested 1790 to another couple at Kehoe and ran into them at 1790 our last night in Savannah.....Definite goto place when we visit again!!
Great food, great service. My wife and truly enjoyed our dining experince
First time dining here. It was fabulous! Enjoyed everything from great drinks, delicious food, great waiter, and the bar after dinner. We will eat here again when we return to Savannah.
We had a lovely evening while celebrating my birthday. We have been to this venue several times and we're never disappointed. It is rather noisy and the piano music could have been softer, but I'll live with the noise for the ambience.
Our service was excellent! Piano was great slightly loud which made the patrons talk louder. Not a large issue. Everything else was outstanding. Will return!
Great food and super service, a must when in Savannah 😊
Loved the piano player. Nice touch.
From the moment we walked in the door we felt like we were home! Most delicious meal we can recall and the piano music was just heavenly! Next time we're in Savannah we will definitely come back!
Melvin was our server and he was knowledgeable and fantastic! I will recommend this restaurant because if the superb food and service!
Always our go to place for special occasions
This is a great place!! I always take out of town guests here and they love it
Place was great but medium well ordered steak was very rare. In fairness my wife’s chicken was wonderful.
If you are wanting a quiet and romantic night with Savannah history this is the place! Or even a girls night with some wine! The food was absolutely amazing and the service was perfect! They had someone playing the piano to add to the whole experience! We will be coming back for sure!!
We went for our 17th anniversary and it couldn't have been a more wonderful experience. We were seated immediately about 3 tables away from the live pianist (far enough so he wasn't too loud) The waiter was very friendly and attentive, but not too much, checking in at the right moments.
The food was to die for. Cranberry stuffed pork loin was rich and moist. The grouper with blackened shrimp over a coconut ricejust melted in my mouth.
We couldn't fit dessert, but saw a few at other tables that looked great.
And the price for two with apps and wine was just over $100 - a great value!
Highly recommended for a very elegant dinner
Terrific....again. From Escargot appetizers to the grouper and pork tenderloin to desert with the chocolate bomb and pecan pie with Leopold's ice cream everything was the best. Super service and not rushed. 17Hundred90 is our favorite and a must for any Savannah visit. You won't be disappointed.
